Kobojunkie: LOL... I see you are merely a joker! 😂😂😂😂
Your government officials padded their salaries over 300% and even NASS supposedly approved a new jet for the president but none of that has you screaming inflation and tearing at your hair. I have already tackled others offering up the same ridiculous fluff earlier, so I will leave them to maybe get you caught up. If the last minimum wage increase of 30k that occurred in 2019 just less than 4 years can't sustain us then we will be in table again in 2028 to ask for 1 million wage increase. It is now ur responsibility to ensure that credible people occupy position. Labour should use its power to ensure that INEC does the right thing. Did labour go on strike when irregularities happened in last elections? Even we saw members of Labour union who got involved in writings elections result. |

Kobojunkie: What has any of that to do with minimum wage Law for Pete's sake? I said since productivity has not increase, money being pushed to the system will only ease pain for a little. Just as the 30k increase didn't ease pain for long. The lasting solution is when production increases in all aspects |

Kobojunkie: 😂😂😂😂😂 Are you all reading from the same decrepit script or what? 😁😁😁😁😁
1. There has been no minimum wage increase in the last 4 years yet inflation still happened at a rate of over 30%. This means that whether you increase the minimum wage or not inflation can happen. So, are you saying then that this fear of having more inflation — seeing the already high inflation numbers go up —should be reason enough to subject over 160 million Nigerians to life in abject poverty...$20 per month when the minimum wage ought to be at least 68 dollars for meaningful existence?
Inflation as it stands today is not a result of Nigerians being paid more money but a result of recent APC policies many of which were implemented during this current administration. So, why should the fear of inflation be used as a weapon against Nigerians demanding better pay when inflation, as it stands, was not caused by the same receiving better pay? Why the nonsense scare tactics?
2. New wages have not been released in over 4 years yet inflation has climbed to over 35% with no end in sight. Prices of goods and services have risen over 400% at this point and it is expected to continue to rise. The new reality of things in Nigeria, a reality caused not by an increase in wages but by policies implemented by the government, is responsible for the high inflation rate and high cost of goods and services. So what is the reason behind this inane tactic of trying to pin inflation instead of an increase in wages?
3. Nonsense! Why are you asking these questions now when your elected offices who already padded their take-home pays without so much as a peep from you by the way — no rants about inflation or higher prices to be heard then— already assured you they are tackling those very same issues? Are you OK at all? Minimum wage was about 10k when a bag of rice was 6k during Jonathan regime. And soon it was increased to 30k.. Then gradually things went up to catch the new minimum wage. E.g a bag of rice went slowly to 10k then to 20k. Labour has been fighting to increase it again for a while n now the latest inflationary pressure gives them the perfect opportunity for that. Apart from wage increases, we have deficit budget: tax revenue less than govt expenditure.. Government keep spending than it receives, pushing more money into the economy This has been happening through out Buhari tenure till date n it encourages inflation. Interest rate policy: cbn maintain an interest rate of about 13 to 11% from 2019 to 2023 this made money available in the system until now they hike it to 26% to retrieve money from the system Printing of money to pay salary, fund project et. Bottom line is.. Any time money is pushed into the system expect rise in prices.... Since productivity hasn't increased prices will soar.. Lastly paying more money without increasing bag of rice in market will only led to people wanting to spend more money to buy same quantity of rice You can never cook money rather u use it to buy food in the market.. It's time we start looking at what can be done to increase productivity, stop fuel import, stop waste In government only then we shall have lasting value for wage increases |

Kobojunkie: ...They say necessity is the mother of invention. Private employers will find a way to survive this push. ▶ Any amount less than $64.5 or Naira 94,893.69 is extreme poverty and should not even be considered of worth. ▶ Any amount less than $68 or Naira 102000, which is the former minimum wage adjusted for the approximate 340% depreciation of Naira since February 2023 (Note: the Naira30,000 minimum wage was worth $83 when it was enacted back in 2019), is pretty much not a raise but adjustment to match the value of the current minimum wage right about the time before the current administration took office. I suspect the recent increase of 300% for the Judiciary was such an adjustment made against the Naira depreciation level. Naira 124,000 or $83 really should be where Labor begins its negotiating for a raise from. ▶ At the federal level though, anything less than N250,000 should be rejected by federal workers. Given the padding senior workers at the federal level freely give themselves, I see no reason why some of that extra padding should not work its way down and across the board to other Federal workers. https://www.worldvision.org/sponsorship-news-stories/global-poverty-facts . Is about how sustainable it will be. Increasing wage rate when productivity has not increased calls for inflation. When u increase wage rate you look at the GDP and to what percentage of GDP. If private sector struggles to pay, then the price of egg will increase, the price bank charges for account maintenance will increase, the price of school fees will increase, the price of transportation will increase. Price of rice might increase gradually to 150k, food stuff will increase All this won't happen overnight but gradually then in 10 years we will be at the table to talk about this unfortunately situation. The question now is : How can we improve crop yield. How do we stop fuel importation to crash petrol price down. When will farmers go to farm safe. And manyore. But we keep electing unfortunate leaders who messes the country up |

There is a price for living in a developed and flourishing nation... You have to put in the shift, you have to grind!
That's why you count your costs and prepare well before boarding that plane! No one is there waiting to fund your lifestyle.
That doesn't make it bad! Matter of fact, it simply creates more responsible citizens who live within their means. The way Nigerians are shouting Japa Japa Japa and people are selling their stuff they got in years only to come here again struggling to start afresh and mostly stuck after exhausting everything Even the citizens would have been feeling the heat if not benefit payment they get from government. |

Over 60 Million Nigerians are either poor or one paycheck away from poverty!
Do you know what that means?!!
The only reason why many of you think Nigeria is favorable is because we literally operate a subsidised welfarist system that is not practical or tenable in a properly developed country. I speak from experience. Last week we had to contribute money to someon who sold everything and got here. Children no food, house rent etc no de.
