Considering the fact that Nigeria only spends naira, But the availability of dollars to some, in the economy is Devastating. The Cbn exchange dollar thru the Bureau d change to the public, the way they do it, is By releasing Dollars to particular registered BDC traders as they claim, Dollars is released to this Individuals to sell to the General public daily, What these people do is, they sell at a particular rate and increase the rate so as to Have some dollars left in stock, By hoarding them, They come back to the bank next day and deposit naira, Saying Demand of Dollars is High, Next day collecting of dollars take place in the Bank again, the bank doesn’t have a choice than to increase the rate cos the rate of return is Low in Value, Definitely business has been done and profit has been made. The issue is Why can’t the CBN put a stop to Street Trading, Aboki’s calling people dollar, dollar on the streets and Devise a Means of Transaction using the Bank for Transparency while Dealing thru the Accounts of the BDC’s, this way you can avoid Laundering of money, illegal transactions and Consumption of Government funds, Most Politicians in Abuja prefer to use the Bureau d change cos it’s a seamless way of Transaction, No one can hold you, No amount is too much, Infact the bigger the amount the Better they friends with you. Street transaction of Dollars is still the same as Spending dollars in the economy. You won’t see other Countries allowing other currencies to be Transferable in the Streets, We have to put a stop to this Menace if we want to save this Country from Collapsing , Using Debts to hold the naira is not the way, Defunding the Banks of Dollar deposits is not the way, Defunding the crypto holders is not even the way, We have to let Transparency and Records take control of the Exchange system, Not in the streets, But banks. Slots can be made Available for Preferable BDC’s Vendors, And Stop Doing Business with the Economy

Haa, for an average Nigerian to japa, u have to gather all eggs in a basket even borrow egg join. It is very capital intensive so u gather eggs everywhere, many will even sell the chicken.
Best is to do proper survey before commitment.

Max student can work is 20hrs and this jobs are hardly seen. Why will someone now throw in almost 25+ million plus when u know there will be no dependant?

By August 2022, debt servicing was eating 90% of our revenue. Tinubus partial removal of subsidy reduced that to 63% . It's probably gone up again.

Plus we had a drop in oil prices meaning we ended up borrowing to survive for 7 years or more while paying subsides. Result...debt eating 90% of our revenue.

I wish that apc lost in 2023, but when 3 candidates are saying that subsidy would go, something's up.

APC borrowed so much money to finance projects we that can't repay the loan and most money were stolen.

These are valid questions based on recent UK legislation as regards restrictions of sponsorship.
More especially for those still back home in Nigeria aspiring japa to UK.

You are right. For those still back home my advice is to stay away. Don't do any further application as chances to recoup ur expenses is slimmer and chances to even pay fees is 99% not possible once u are a student.

But the once currently in should just strive hard. Keep pushing and embrace post study to recover all or larger percentage of money so far invested.

That one is not an issue for we student now.
The main issue is getting this school fees off.

She is extremely lucky with the job. Because I have many couples here that are still struggling to pay their fee of less than 19,000 pounds since two years now.... Those on two years program

I have a [b]full-time job [/b]which I have not mentioned the salary. But on the average we paid 4000 pounds per month for 4 months. We had no rent to pay in those 4 months because we had paid 4 months in advance in December.

Now the picture is clear. Getting a partner that does full time is the key. And again u must be lucky to hit a job in just few weeks. Some of us stayed 4 months roaming around for job from September to December walahi Before we could land a job. Even those than landed was our dependent while we student has to struggle out for job.

Over 21000 pounds and salary is not up to 5000. Also we paid 2000 pounds already in October, so not exactly 5 months. I have a self employed teaching role by the side to raise feeding and house hold bills. My husband has a 20 hours job and worked 40 hours during holidays. Also since we paid rents ahead all our salaries for those 4 months went there. While we survived with the teaching benefits of averagely 500 pounds.

Also I had a tax refund of over a thousand pounds too. All of this went into fees.

Please note we also have 2 kids.

It takes discipline and self denial. No eating out and no purchases. Thank God we came with plenty clothes for our children and us.

Let's take a look at the analysis again.
Your husband is the student and has a 20 hrs job and the only holiday we had was December holidays which was 3 weeks of which he worked 40hrs.

Your self employed teaching jobs bring 500 to the table each month abi. Aside this teaching job is there any other job again

If u have a work visa to Canada then go. Work is assured because the company will issue u a document to process ur visa.

If you have a student visa then u can stay months with no job. We are discussing migration based on student visa and that's what this thread is all about

I just want to encourage someone. My husband had half school fees, but because of a sudden development in the church we were running we had to divert the funds for a long term lease. So that the church can continue to run while we were away, and there was no other alternative. We ended up coming in with zero kobo and the school is a Russel Group, and students who are self paying can come in without school fees deposit.

Total school fees was 27,100 and even though we had housing challenges. I ended up with a good job in 4 weeks.

Long story cut short, in December we got a house with 4 months advance rent. We started paying school fees in January after the first 2000 deposit we made in October I.e. after so much pressure from the School.

Please note that we came in September 2023, and by end of May we will be having about 2300 left to pay as school fees.

My advice is, if you are sure that relocating is God's divine plan. Please relocate.

I got admission in university of hull too but i had C6 in English Language so they mailed me back that they accept C5 for postgraduate and C6 for undergraduate, so i should provide ielts 6.5 as English requirement.
Am looking towards care job because I have 3 years experience as a caregiver here in Nigeria and I have done an online diploma course in Caregiving, and i also did my nysc in Federal Medical Center so am thinking of using that experience for Health assistance jobs.
My course includes a work placement, should getting a trainee position be that difficult as a postgraduate student already in the field.

Why is hull setting high requirements like that?what about other courses? Most Nig in hull till date haven't paid anything aside their deposit and the school no trouble them.

Secondly I have a friend who is a registered nurse Bsc with her RN. Mide wife. She couldn't break through care assistant because of UK experience. Right now she does 10hrs cleaning per week job
They value UK experience more than anything. But if u can get an agency that can train and give u shift then with that experience gotten from UK u can break through.

Please, if you have the funds, do not waste it in the UK. Many immigrants are looking towards United States and Australia. New Zealand is not bad. J know a lots of influencers are here viewing this discussion with their numerous handles. All they care is their commission from UK universities not minding what their country men goes through.

Although I found out that most universities are failing to pay them their commissions especially for this January set that left due to their inability to pay their fees. This influencers are now advertising other European schools like Portugal, Malta etc. And have secured partnership with this schools. They won't ask u to pay them money but they are paid well by this uni to help them secure n convince Nigerian recruit as they call us

Please my follow Nigerians do ur research well don't follow anyone when it comes to student visa.

I wonder what they are using experience to do? Just to wash toilet they ask for experience. Not just experienced but have u done it in UK? The next thing which place, give me their mail, ask for bank statements to see if u received money in that regard, contact the organisation to enquire about u.

For just cleaning. A friend of mine that got recently as full time, they did background checks on him for 3 months. Checks his details on social media etc. After all the full time is just 22hrs in a week.

The only jobs that comes easy are those highly professional jobs like dentist, surgion, etc or similar jobs u got lots of experience in. Like care jobs if u get 6 months experience then u can secure jobs quicker but with no experience.. Laiye. Some recruiters don even chop my money in nsme of training yet they failed to offer the shift n stop communicating with u. Like the one in this pix. Since last year I got the offer, paid him for DBS still yet see what he is saying

And yes cleaning job is not ordinary.. They ask for experience... UK experience, DBS check, interviews etc.. In fact I find cleaning as one of the most difficult jobs to secure as I have gone for only 2 interviews out of uncountable jobs I applied for n the 2 interviews I couldn't secure it despite that it's just 7 hrs a week job and still spend 8 pounds going n coming per shift unless u buy weekly bus ticket

If u read this forum well or a regular follower then you would have read about fullclub post earlier October last year when he told people not to come and what he was facing. And again numerous people have stated obvious fact on this thread that there is no job in UK now especially for students.
When I mean no jobs am talking about the very menial jobs.. Cleaner, kitchen porter, plate washing, or anything u think of because it's crime to pay anyone below minimum wage so any job counts even if is to pack shit, people are willing n are rushing.. U know when you tell Nigerians the fact they rather believe in illusion saying if they survived in Nigeria they can survive in UK. But can they keep changing naira to pay rent? I did for almost 7 months and am still doing that now. Rent almost 500 pounds monthly.. Press calculator u go understand.
Some of us did change naira, borrowed n keep borrowing to pay rent here. I particularly sold lands to keep up still I couldn't still find my feet.

Anyone still following influencers on Facebook or on any social media be it twitter or WhatsApp group that he can survive it without a dependent working 24/7 then he has his self to blame. Even I have seen lots of dependant struggled to pass this huddles not to talk of single individual.

Because I see that the universities in UK got a lot of Nigerians on their payroll to influence Nigerians to come. The average UK can n won't cough out 14k for uni. The government already cap it 10k below.. So the universities turn to foreign students.

But the reality is that students are seeing shage banza promax in UK right now, some schools has sent many home already why others are banking on hope. Once u land in UK, the uni gives 1 or 2 months rest then they start asking for their money upfront, sending threat messages, blocking portals and without portal u can't submit assignments, mark attendance, follow up lecture etc.

Before coming I particularly ask a friend who is over if I can see jobs, he said yes there are jobs. I never knew he was just interested in referal commission he will get from the POF he referred me to, then use that money to pay back debt he owes in Nigeria, imagine if he does that to 10 people how much he gets. It was while I came I found out that all those while he didn't have a job for good three months n I don't know if he had currently now. Right now he doesn't pick calls. This is someon if I call in Nigeria even if he missed it, he calls back instantly. Now for 4 weeks I have been calling him no answer
