twingirls: So I was I was able to do money order at kroger yesterday with my stanbic IBTC card. I got 999 dollars money order and was charged 69cents! It's not bad at all, the only snag is the rate of 260 dollars at which I was charged by stanbic.
For those just entering US, since nobody is sure of what is going to happen come 1st Jan, I think we can explore this option of money order, we can raise 4k in 4 days as against d 300 ATM+bank charges, the only charge involved apart from bank rate is 69 cent. You can even have cash back, but cash back over 100 dollars warrants another 3 dollars charges.
It's better to play safe and try to raise @ least wat can keep us till we finish dis missionary journey, as for me, I no budget 260 NGN for one dollar, but I refuse to be stranded in Amelica! What will be d essence of d money in my naira acct wen I can't even bring it out for my use? There will always be a way, o ye of little faith Just kidding |

jacksparow: Well the same way you claim miles on Emirates is the same way you do on other airlines. you will have to register before you can claim And what did you do with the ones claimed on Emirates? it can upgrade you to a higher class, sleep in a higher star hotel, even shop at selected stores or pay half ticket on on next trip or even give part of it to someone to also do all these same things. And the miles have a lifespan for you to claim it and use as well...helpful? The Emirates one, I haven't done anything with it yet, im at the upper limit of silver cuz we fly biz class for work. I seriously Considered using it for this waka, but the Israelite journey to Houston (16 hours from Dubai) after 7 hours to Dubai, put me off. Will use it for personal vacay next year or something. Let me go back on Klm and try to claim this one, although have no idea when next I will be flying KlM again But if I aggregate mine, Dh, my mum and my daughter it may amount to something How many points do you have on Emirates? |

jacksparow: Seems That notary thingy works only in some states. My sister inlaw got her passport in Richmond Texas last week without her hubby sending anything from Nigeria...and Another friend last year got same passport in Atlanta but the passport issued was for 2 years not 5 years and their reason was she didnt present a notarized document....Oya people with contrary opinion should start typing lemme learn. To the best of my understanding the only way that works is to put unknown father on the birth certificate o! Either that or she came with the notarized document. Find out |

vcole: read it again. the journalist certainly implied that it was cbn policy especially as he splashed Emefele's face on the front page. however, it is more of a starvation of forex leading to decisions by banks to limit dollar denominated spending on naira cards with a last resort already being effected by certain banks to stop this altogether. knowing Nigeria, there is no smoke without fire. soon all the banks will toe the same path. Well my contact in Cbn and master card says no such policy as at today. Emefele's picture is not the same as the picture evidence of the circular I guess. Also sent an email to Stanbic and they responded that they have sent out no correspondence! So don't know if olokings is a premium (or insider) customer o! Or is he mistaking Stanbic for stanchart. While there is no smoke without fire, it's beginning to look like the whole thing is being over sensationalized. Anyways 1st is two weeks away, guess we will find out soon - maybe the hard way for me, but I don't want to panic and change all the money I have left at the black market for $1 to N280 |
