ProgrammingRe: Which Phone Will You Recommend For A Programmer? by Fayimora(m): 5:05pm On Sep 14, 2011
There is nothing like a programmer's phone! You dont want to see the type of phones some of my lecturers and tutors use. Just buy a phone that you like or something. Also, if you develop apps for say Android, you could get an android phone but again thats your choice,

Hope that helped!
Tech JobsRe: Programmer Help. by Fayimora(m): 5:00pm On Sep 14, 2011
The way you talk/write is funny. Firstly , am not talking to you as a moderator but as someone thats trying to help. If you take your time to search google alone for those thing I posted above, you would have gone a long way now. The funniest part is that you are zoo lazy that you can't even search google for a sample answer. I haven't checked but there are gazillions of solutions online. . . Am not telling you to go and copy solutions tho but hey laziness ain't gonna help you at all. I really wish you could just understand. You need to learn to do stuffs on your own.

Anyways am still not gonna give you the code to your exercise because you just need a few hrs(3hrs max) to go through the stuffs i wrote above and do your assignment yourself! Now go online and try to learn those stuffs i posted above, when i get home am going to post a link here to a book you should use on C++. notwithstanding here is the book. --> http://www2.research.att.com/~bs/3rd.html

To every newbie reading this, YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!
Tech JobsRe: Programmer Help. by Fayimora(m): 12:17pm On Sep 14, 2011
Thats exactly what i did. I have helped you by listing things you have o know as well as hints on how to solve your problem. are you indirectly saying you just want the code??

Tech JobsRe: Programmer Help. by Fayimora(m): 11:31am On Sep 14, 2011
Well no-one can help you if you dont help yourself. If you have programming as a module then you shouldn't say you aren't a programmer!. Anyways, you still have to try something out and then we can help you im,prove on it.

Before you go for the hints, make sure you understand the following concepts;
-> Variables
-> Operators
-> Conditions
-> Loops

Now the hints!
HINT:
--> Write code to add 2 numbers.
--> Write code to add x numbers.

Make sure you understand the concepts you used above, then you move unto the next step

--> Write code to divide 2 numbers, 1 by the other.
When you understand the following then write code to add up x numbers and divide the result by the amount of numbers entered.

Am not really sorry for not giving you code because if you cant write this yourself, who is gonna write something harder for you in an exam? You gotta practice a lot.

Get to work and when you get stuck, you try again until you feel you are completely hopeless(which i can tell u is impossible cheesy) then you can come here and someone would help you!

ProgrammingRe: [Beginner Assistance] How Do I Start Programming? by Fayimora(m): 3:21am On Sep 13, 2011
You guys just don't get it do you? #SadMuch This is not a matter of who can combine what. The truth has to be said! Do i have to be in Med school to know whats up? I have friends and I see what they go through, I dont even think a natural programmer has to go through half of it!

Initially, I wanted to give him a few links to articles and other resources so he just gets the overview before even picking a language! I then thought about it properly, this is a 5th year med student! WTF does he want to program at this stage. If am not mistaken, he has gotten into a part of his carrer where he needs total focus, else he would just waste a good number of precious years of his life.

Before you guys start saying all these stuff about passion or whatever, let him know the truth and then if he still wants to go into it, then you can flood him with resources. @OP dnt pay attention to what am about to say and dont take it personal. Lets say he starts programming, if he ends up failing his med sch exams or whatever, how many of you here would be able to stand up and say "I warned you!".

I know economists that program, thats different. I know more than a handful of social sciences and art students that develop. thats definitely nothing new BUT a 5th yr med studenthuhhuh?? Nopes.

@OP
  I am not saying you shouldnt do what you want to do but like i have said, its not really a good idea EXCEPT you are not interested in med sch or planning to drop out or watever, just anything in that angle. Better still, if am not mistaken you have just a yr left or maybe 2, dunno how it works over there. You can still learn to program afterwards. It is never too late!!!

WebmastersRe: Coldfusion by Fayimora(m): 6:09am On Sep 12, 2011
Timileyin:
@ Fayimora
Yeah, i dont know the language you presently program on but  one thing for sure, if you pick up a coldfusion book and read, you will be supprised at what you will be able to accomplish in very few days. Its classified as RAD. Coldfusion will design the same thing that may take you 4months in PHP in 2 weeks. thats why i have been able to solve  so many industrial problem without thinking twice. If you dont use coldfusion, you are missing.  Also if you are thinking about job oppurtunities, an example is this :  ( http://www.zenithbank.com/ ) Zenth bank uses coldfuison. There also many of them but i will not want to go too deep into that.
Pick up any book? Well thats your first step to discouraging me. lol I always prefer at least 2 books that were referenced/recommended by someone already in the field.

Faster than Rails or Sinatra ? Lol i dont have a specific lang, i just use what I feel is best for the job and for the record I hate PHP even tho my site uses PHP. Code is just tooo annoying.

Jobs? Lol dnt give 2 f&%ks bout that, i develop for the web for FUN! Nothing more. . Gat other stuffs I do. .

Anyways, doesnt really matter. I just wanted to see what its all about, how its coded and deployed and blah blah blah because coldfusion practically isin't the best for anything am currently working on or planning to work on.
ProgrammingRe: Which Phone Will You Recommend For A Programmer? by Fayimora(m): 6:01am On Sep 12, 2011
lol Seriously. As long as it receives and you can make and send with it, your good to go. However, if you develop android apps, you might want to have an android phone to test your apps properly, same goes for others cheesy

ProgrammingRe: [Beginner Assistance] How Do I Start Programming? by Fayimora(m): 5:11am On Sep 12, 2011
I still agree with Mobinga  angry Thers no reason for such a person to start programming EXCEPT if he is already dropping medicine or something of tht nature. . . . Developing software isint something you just do with your mouth, you have to go through a LOT before even developing the first software!

Anyways @OP, my advice to you is "Forget about programming and face your work!". If you are really interested you can start looking at web designs instead IN YOUR SPARE TIME! seriously if you dont want to fail, forget about programming for now! Its never to late to learn programming so face what you are into for now. . . .
ProgrammingRe: The Greatest Challenge Of The Programming World by Fayimora(m): 11:26pm On Sep 11, 2011
HAhaha no but on a serious note, using a language like Ruby would make it fun for me but the problem is TIME. Theres just too much to do. If you don't mind we might try it in December tho. .  We might still be building and optimizing in December 2014 lmaooo.

We should do it using Ruby or at least Perl. If we MUST use graphics then we just gotta use Java sad
ProgrammingRe: Fibonacci - Nature by Numbers Challenge by Fayimora(m): 11:23pm On Sep 11, 2011
Any one that tries to do something like that in a language like Java or any u mentioned above is a saddist. . . . Lol seriously. . . You can decide to use flash tho which would make it more interesting but to infinity? Man your system would suffer, BUt for some reason i didn't really get the connection btw the fibo. . . and the vid tho

Fayimora: Moderator of Programming forum and party to demotivation of budding programmers huh
Really?? I would like to see some proof to backup such a statement about me! Actually, you did something wrong by sending the OP to a specific platform. You should have given him resources that would help him understand what it means to program and what it takes to be a programmer.

By the way, what exactly is a medical student doing here? I mean 5th yr!! c'mmon like Mobinga said, we wouldn't want you to start messing around with human lives. face what you are doing. . . . <--- to the OP

Mobinga:
Stick to med school, we don't want anyone playing with human lives. Plus you're in your 5th year, you should focus more on finishing med school than programming.
