You folks are very funny but I guess you are only looking for a scape goat. Enough of this debate. slimshay:True talk. One would think that all the players on the pitch go by the name of "Mikel". That said, the lad simply needs to step up his game. It's about time. ![]() |
Hi nairalanders in the UK,I will like to know more about getting a job or menial job as a student in the UK, Or a preferred location where you can get a better one kindly reply this post.I hope to read your replies cheers,

hi guys am a civil servant in nijia having like 900 k savings and my ride like 700k and some parental support got an admission for msc computer sci from the university of wolverhampton would you advice me to leave my permant pensionable federal govt job am still new 1 year and am 28 yrs old for the u.k in the recession and lay off i watch on CNN in u.k,are job easily secured after graduation not menail jobs hoo!!
I also agree to the fact that staying at home is very good. You have your job, friends and family around you. No question of racism, where to sleep, what to eat etc but then, there is absolutely nothing wrong in enrolling for MSc and at your age you still have the energy to combine working and studying. Remember, it is for your own self advancement in life. One question, for those saying that “it is not easy”, tell us one country where it is easy. If you are determined, hard working and (like someone earlier said) you do believe in God, surely you can DO it. From personal experience, yeah, you “may” find it rough but it is doable. I did it and graduated and see no reason why you or any other person cannot. Agreed travelling to the UK for hols is good, question, will he not spend money for the trip? Mind you, it ain’t cheap. A fellow already mentioned it here that the major thing is to organize your finances. And in fact I will only add that you already have your first year (and if possible for the whole period of study) tuition ready. That way, any extra cash you make doing “other” jobs goes directly into your pocket and if you are diligent and disciplined enough, you might even end up having some good savings. Again, I repeat, it is DOABLE. Forget the east Europeans et all, there is competition every where . . .even in the white house. Yes, you may have to forget about using a car for sometime (you mentioned you have one) and maybe as well do without some other things we consider luxuries but the long term goal is what matters. In a couple of year’s time, you will be a Masters Degree holder. How sweet!!! Then you can tell your kids stories about how you did it. Believe it, yes you can do it. Keep your mind open that there is no job awaiting you after you must have finished and except you enroll at some “5 star” Business school where the fees are way up there. Some of us had it rough but we are thanking God today for everything He did, is doing and will do. PS: Remember that no one else can make that decision for you but yourself. Good luck and God bless. Jehovah. You are The Most High God. I will forever worship Thee. Thank You Father for everything. For yesterday, today and tomorrow. |
Cristalz:hehehe but folks really norin spoil. Nigeria may not be the only BIG name going out. Argentina may be out on wednesday even before a ball is kicked. France. . .those guys are not serious even with ALL the star players in their ranks. You can easily assume that Raymond D is the senior brother to Shaibu A or vice versa. ![]() Henry slams Domenech as France struggle Speaking to Domenech last Friday at France's training camp, Henry was quoted by Le Parisien as saying: "Coach, we have something to tell you. I am speaking in the name of the squad. "We are getting bored during your training sessions. In 12 years with the French team, I have never been in such a situation. We do not know how to play, where to be on the pitch or how to organise. We do not know what to do. We have no style, no guidelines. It is not working." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=674015&sec=worldcup2010&cc=5739 |
Cristalz:hehehe. Red flag turned to red shirts ![]() See wetin the Standing Eagles of Nigeria don start oh! ![]() Cristalz:That back pass get as he be? simply cannot figure it out. No seriously, how possible was that? A player 100% clear on goal but decided (maybe because of the color of his boots ) to pass the ball back and out of the 18 yrd box? mehnnnnnnnnn ![]() Someone mentioned a scuffle in the dressing room? For real? |
soloqy:No she ain't guilty. (with that sort of display from the SE of Nigeria, one will easily see different colors out of anger.)But then she was at the stadium. ![]() |
whenever any Super Eagle had the ball, a red shirt was present to stop him. There was a time when there were 3 red shirts on one player alone!
Red shirts ke? did you watch the match through B&W spectacles? ![]() Tunisians wore white (numbers and stripes in red though), no? ![]() |
Eagles paid $10000 for Tunisia draw After a deflating 2-2 draw against Tunisia which has left the country's World Cup hopes on thin ice, Nigeria's Super Eagles will be paid their full $10 000 match bonus. Sources at the NFF informed KickOffNigeria.com that the Glass House had been instructed by the Sports Ministry to pay full match bonuses to the players. In his address to the team after the game, NSC chairman and Sports Minister Sani Ndanusa, almost in tears, told the players they did their best and assured them they would be paid their full match bonus. The NFF were subsequently directed to effect the payments on Sunday night. It is a directive that has left the football house stunned. "How can we justify that to Nigerians? But the NSC have given us a directive and we have no option but to comply," the NFF source said. http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=10877 |
Nigerian Corner: Enter The Season Of World Cup Permutations Again Nigeria's Super Eagles suffered a massive setback in their quest to play at next year's World Cup following Sunday's draw with rivals Tunisia. Goal.com's Samm Audu looks at what has befallen a nation that will now be counting on other teams to fly them to South Africa 2010, Former Nigeria international goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu wept like a baby at the end of Sunday's World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and their Tunisian counterparts. The reason for his tears? The 2-2 draw at the Abuja National Stadium has, without doubt, compromised the chances of Nigeria making it to next year's World Cup in South Africa. The expectation of a Nigerian victory had been so high that the 'plastic' city of Abuja, with its beautiful layouts and smooth, expansive roads, showed an unusual display of passion leading up to the must-win game, from flag-carrying cars to the high noise level around the match venue. . . . The Carthage Eagles defended and attacked in numbers, while Nigeria often threatened when they attacked the North Africans, but were very vulnerable on the counter-attack. There was simply no ball-winning player in the midfield, with John Mikel Obi and Seyi Olofinjana running into each other, more often than not. A top foreign coach friend of mine rang me after just five minutes into the match and said: "The Nigerian tactics are a big zero. If my team play like this, we are dead!" One would then have thought that after Eneramo's superb strike had brought the Super Eagles back from the dead, Nigeria would have been able to now hold on to the lead, even if they had to play negative football as there was only about two minutes to spare. http://goal.com/en/news/89/africa/2009/09/07/1485549/nigerian-corner-enter-the-season-of-world-cup-permutations |
Eastbay:You are spot on my guy but a brilliant manager/coach just have to take charge. Question is who? Siasia is the only name that comes to my mind. Yep, tunisia's coach is portuguese and led Portugal to the semi-finals of Euro 2000 before managing Morocco and South Korea. |
Eastbay:Honeymoon! how nice . Congrats and welcome. ![]() As per the SE of Nigeria, maybe the name is the problem sef. Let them just revert to green eagles je je. ![]() |
Even when the head to head rule was operational , away goals did not have any extra score. Hence 0-0 and 2-2 still place us on the same level. The main problem now is the points difference between Nigeria and Tunisia
All hope is NOT lost sha. The SE can still make it. ![]() But that back pass. . .how could a player do that? ![]() |
Eastbay:Omo, We Thank God oh. I dey . How your end na? where you dey hide these days sef. See what your players did yesterday. Kai, I dont even know what to say. What does it take to hold on to a lead for some 5 mins? na wa ooh. But sha, the comments on this thread just dey make the laugh. Nigerians funny no be small. |
Eastbay:The head to head rule does not count. There is a different format in place. http://www.football-rankings.info/2008/09/2010-fifa-world-cup-league-format.html |

Even Arsenal never try that kind thing before. That climaxed of the unserious showing of our team yesterday.
![]() offside? hmmm! you do have a point but still cannot figure it out. Why the back pass? |
Heard he dived again against Slovenia? oh dear! ![]() Thought they said "English players don't dive"? ![]() |
Abeg, who was that player that made a back pass even though he was clear on goal? Honestly speaking, I have never seen such before. |
