Dear all, Just coming back from a First Bank branch in Port Harcourt and I was told PTA is released only on Wednesdays and must be exhausted same day. So if you are looking at getting from them, go on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I can't get cos my travel date is almost here. Good luck to everyone. |
Rezzy, I laughed when I read your post 'cos this is the discovery age for them. I have a toddler as well and he does almost all that you have mentioned. At this age, you need to encourage play. It helps him build his gross and fine motor skills. Your toddler often wants things his own way, so try to keep your patience if you find his behaviour challenging sometimes. Take a deep breath and stay calm in the face of your toddler's tantrums. If you have someone staying with him, let them only watch him while he plays. Make some rules for him; I tell you toddlers understand and explain why he should not do it. Eg I tell my son, "don't climb on your wardrobe 'cos you will fall and cry". Do you want to cry? He will answer NO. That solves the problem! No shouting or beating. If you start with shouting or beating, you will miss it. Try to communicate with him. Make it clear that some things, such as behaviour that affects his safety, are not up for negotiation. I safety proof my house i.e. use cellotape to cover all electrical sockets within his reach. The sitting room is out of bounds for playing. Some activities I have for my son to engage him are: 1. Pour all his toys on the floor in his room, let him scatter and arrange. 2. Buy football, allow him play outdoors. 3. Let him play with sand. 4. Let him ride bike. 5. Give him paper with pencil to scribble 6. Download or buy Barney cd's for him. Please don't shout ands beat again. Allow him pour all the clothes, later tell him to put it back but an adult has to arrange it properly. This phase can be both challenging and interesting. Enjoy the moments dear! |

My people, please help me clear the air on this. I read somewhere that it is cheaper to buy your local flight ticket at the airport in yankee. How true is it? I've always bought online till I read this one. CC: Nef, LadyG, firsttymum |

LadyGuinivere:My dear, the whole thing is fishy jor! She's saying it's an agent that did it for her but you will send docs and money to her The whole presentation came across as a DIY to me cos I knw immigration is now encouraging DIY. I processed my son's passport by myself online even tho' they still took their 'commitment fee'...lol. I no cum sabi which one be dat again but passport was ready in 3days. Did all the online application, paid online, printed acknowledgemt+ receipt myself, so dis babe presentation tire me jor |
Justwise, I think you should release my post so people don't fall victim. |
I am going thru the immigration website, there is a drop down button for where you want to process the visa but I can't find Nigeria there. Abeg what do you choose as processing country? One should be able to do these things if not our people that like to impose bottle necks. I did all my son's naija passport application online by myself but when I got to the immigration office, requested for 5k as "commitment fee" ![]() which was still lesser putting all cost togeda than paying one immigation man money for passport processing. |
congrats nancyij. God be praised and welcome to your beautiful princess |
Special shout out to #TeamOctober# How is everyone doing? The waddling + penguin walk +bloatedness is on another level for me ![]() I'm stopping work this week, so I'm excited infact I feel like tmrw should be Friday already ![]() Trust everyone is doing great, the countdown is real; I tend to have mixed feelings these days and for some minute, I just shed tears for nothings! My hormones are working overtime ![]() How is the shopping + hospital bag packing + arranging of baby's nursey going? God is our strength and will perfect all that concerns us. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a beautiful weeke ahead |
