Hi Mama, were you expressly told by the immigration entry officer at entry that baby can't apply for BRP within the UK? I will be applying shortly for baby BRP once we get back to the UK. When we applied firstly late 2019, we didn't ask anyone at entry we just entered and applied and got baby BRP.

No one said anything to me, they just stamped his passport and that's all.

Pls guide me on the application process. Thanks

Hi everyone
1) please can I my baby travel to nigeria with ETC alone without the naija or American passport ?

2) How long does ETC take?

4) we do plan to get the passports in Nigeria cos we have limited time.

5) One parent in Nigeria and didn’t have a date for notary yet and we wish to travel.

The child can't travel without a passport. You can't even process ETC without the child's US passport, I'm not sure this has changed because that was the ETC condition when I did for my daughter 6yrs ago. It took less than a week back then

Good evening people
Please has anyone processed Nigerian passport for their LOs in Nigeria? Can the US birth certificate be used?
I called someone and they said i need a NPC birth certificate to do passport.
I’ll be glad if i can get a response

Don't mind them! Was your child born in Nigeria that the are requesting for you to get NPC birth certificate! Fraudulent bunch! All you need is the child's American passport, ETC or naija visa that was used to bring the child in, Nigerian passports of both parents, NIN, consent letter

Good afternoon House!

Can anyone help with a contact for affordable accommodation in Houston Close to West Houston or Memorial Hermann hospital? I will be travelling in April at 34weeks and will be using Dr Z. I haven't decided on hospital yet because of accommodation and the prices I've been getting from birth concierges I've been talk to are outrageous. Airbnb is also expensive at this time.

Kindly help a sister. My budget is 800-1200usd(ensuite) per month.

Thanks!

Check for intown suites or Studio 6 around that area. At this point, remove proximity...just try to get a place to stay first. There is an intown suite on highway 6

I know two students who applied from the Uk and were granted.

Of course, students can apply. I've applied for US visa twice while as a student and I got it. 2012 and 2022

I don’t know about UK 100%, but I have heard of people who applied for a U.S visa from there on a visit visa, however that was some years back Sha, so things might have changed.

I know personally of Canada, cos I applied there before. My sister just got her visa in an African country with no permanent residency. And I know people go to neighboring African countries to apply due to the lack of dates in naija. Like I said, it depends on the post/country. Each post makes their own rules ans they fit.

Ok.. I see your point..she can give it a try. If it works fine, if not she would just let go of the money spent. Either ways, an attempt is not bad.

Good day MamaOO please can you shade more light on this info? Thank you.

You have to provide evidence of your status in the UK if you are not a UK or EU passport holder when applying for a US visa. In this case, the first thing they collect from your before your biometrics is your BRP and your passport.

Visit visa is not an evidence of a stay hence you can only apply from your home country.

She can, unless the visa post explicitly says she needs residency to apply (which they can). My sister just got a US visa from a third country.

As a visitor? You can not apply for a US visa from UK when you are on a visit visa.

Hello, sir. Happy new year/new month. Please I will be going to the UK in June for a summer vacation, is it possible to apply for a US visit to the UK? I ask because I saw your post, I am not a student or have a tie in the 🇬🇧 just going for summer with my family. Bi am asking because no date here in Nigeria and I am expecting my last baby this year. Please the gurus in the house should help.

No you can't apply. You must have a residence permit before you can apply in another country other than your home country.

Hi everyone, please I need your advise on what to do, I am a nurse working with nhs on tier 2 visa and am about to go for my maternity leave. I am not entitled for maternity pay so I would like to know any kind of job I could do while at home that will not affect my visa status. Thank you.

You may not be entitled for statutory maternity pay if you’ve not worked for 6 months. However, you are entitled to Maternity allowance from Job Center. Submit the maternity letter given to you by your midwife to your employer and they will give you SMP 1 form. Go online to gov.uk website and fill the maternity allowance form and post it to them. It will be processed for you

I get your point alot of people i asked also said we needed to apply for the dependent visa before coming back to Uk but we couldn't apply so we just had to come in to apply for the dependent visa and when we got to the immigration, it was no big deal really and the officer stamped us in with no worries. So i guess we all just overthink these stuffs really.

God bless you 😁 you won’t understand the relief this answer brought. I’ve been thinking and searching online but I needed to hear from someone who has a first hand experience. Once baby is here, I want to leave in 2weeks😀

Baby came to UK with my wife on US passport as US citizens are are allowed in for 6 months, and then we applied for dependent visa in the UK right after. I think its better to just apply for dependent visa right after baby is back in the UK and not wait till the 6months lapses.

Oh great 👍 thank you so much ! This brings a lot of clarity. I was worried they would say parents have resident permit and why is newborn coming just with passport . Thank you for this. You are now my guide 😀

Good afternoon all.
I’m based in uk on a tier 2 visa with my husband and two kids(American citizens). Currently I’m pregnant and I will still want him/ her to have the American passport but I still can’t figure out the reasons to point out why I want to travel during interview because I have just applied for a medical visa.
The visa I got initially was medical visa and I declared that I was pregnant and I wanted to birth my baby in the USA because of the poor health care system in Nigeria.
Now I’m in the uk, I really do not know what to claim.
Please I need your suggestions
Thanks!!!

Congratulations 🎉 renewed mine at London office as well. They asked me to send the proof of payments (just 1page each) for each child to their email because I didn’t take it along for the interview and my visa was granted

Just go there for the interview and mention you are there to renew. Same happened to my wife, she had a b1/b2 while living in another country before we moved to UK on tier 2 and she had to renew before birthing our baby in USA( Same reason as we wanted our baby to still have an american citizenship. She went to the London embassy and mentioned specifically that she wanted to renew her visa and she was granted as the VO could see she had visited previously. Also i think its good to mention you are there to renew specifically because my wife just went to the VO counter and the VO thought she was applying for the visa the first time till the VO mentioned, oh you have visited before and here to renew. B1/B2 is still same medical and visit so no need for you to over complicate things for yourself.

So good to know I have people on same mission with me😁 6yrs after, back to the thread again. Please did you need to do a dependent visa for the newborn?
