comtem2011: Are you serious? I started with my son when he was 6 months o, I can remember vividly that day, he was purging serioulsy and before I knew it, I have used like 6 diapers within 3hrs, na so i carry potty wash am put him bombom o. If I just noticed him of any sign, I will put him immediately and will poopoo inside. Thats how our journey to potty training started, before I know it @7months, he doesn't stain his diaper again, he will make sure the diaper is removed and that was a signal for me that he wants to poopoo. I will say oficially, potty training started when we were 7 months. This is a sign that he was ready..it would have been stressful if you forced it on him. Personally, I just allow them jare..my son was potty trained by his school. Now he's 2+, he does not bed wet as well. How did I achieve that? last thing before he sleeps, he must use the toilet. Btwn 1-3am, I wake up and take him to wee. I've been doing it consistently and it works perfectly. for my daughter, sometimes she say "mummy poo" and when you put her on the potty, she actually poops..but then again, I'm not home all day + no energy for that one when I return when she starts school, let them finish the work ..her brother is her poop detector, once she poos, he must inform us before we even notice |

iwuoahsamuels: Hello mums. My EDD is 20th June 2018 And will be birthing abroad and would love for my husband to be there on delivery day. I’m a first time mum, so FTms how early or late did your baby arrive? What date range do you suggest he gets his ticket for so he can arrive and most likely be with me at delivery. For a first time mum that has had an uneventful pregnancy, most times baby stays till Edd..so anytime from EDD, he can book his ticket |

Brownsmoothie: Good evening sabi mamas, pls I need your help about my 20months old son that is always having a hard time pooing....always running up and down crying wen he wants to poop and wen the poop eventually comes out it wl be very dark and hard. We have been to the hospital and doctor suggest vegetables and fruits but still no changes and dis boy takes alot of water daily with fruits....dont knw wat else to do....pls I wl appreciate your suggestions and advise.tanks you will have to use a suppository. I've used both (the pics attached)... not sure you can find pedialax here, if you do excellent. It worked perfectly. It's easier to find the care suppository here. It's a phase and he will outgrow it. Surprisingly, my son no longer suffers from it again after 2years+. There's really nothing you can do about it except by using suppositories

dapotemi: Morning All,
Please i need some clarification. I'm a new dad and my girl is 6 month plus two week. My wife did EBF for 5 month, She stopped at 5 month because she will resume work by 6 month so we decided to introduce baby food by end of 5 month, this was done because we have a plan to start dropping her somewhere from morning till evening; we do not wants her to cry too much for breastmilk. Since then, it's serious struggle, we bought cerelac, friso, heinz, aptamil, nan 1& 2, sma, nutriben, all this august secret stuff etc. She will take very few the first day and the next day she will reject it outrightly and i will be advice to get another brand. That was how we end up with all those brand. Meal time is always crying/struggling time. I told my mum and she said we should bring her to her house, so my wife relocated to my mum's place; three days after, i went to visit to know how shes doing and i saw my baby taking amala and ewedu/pepper, smiling and even shaking her head to the background music. She was just happy. Later mumsy made moin moin for the house and DD took her own part, eating with joy, i also observed mumsy gives her rice (jollof, white, friedrice) and she did not reject any of it. She eat whatever the whole family is eating; except eba/garri. Her favourite is ewedu soup with fish, rice, moinmoin, beans and pap. Wifey also breastfeed maybe once or twice a day. She hardly cry during meal time. She was 6.7kg when we took her there, she's now 8.4 now (just within a month with mumsy). 4.0 at birth. The truth is, am happy but worried somehow. Please with all this adult food shes taking, any cause for concern? your baby is perfectly fine... not all kids like milk and cereals. count it all joy and I would say you are lucky. |

FloraEC: Please allow me to rant cos my dd is driving me nuts I've tried everything possible to potty train her but she refused. She won't poop inside the potty but instead she'll go to a hidden corner of the house and do her business, later she'll use bedspread or clothes and cover it or she'll use it to paint the floor and wardrobe/wall for me. assuming she does it inside her diaper, I'll manage but she'll remove the diaper, fling it away and do her business. I'm tired of cleaning the house, wardrobe or wall and washing clothes biko I'm not a donkey. On Saturday night, she threw my phone inside toilet and there was no light. Assuming I didn't go with torchlight, my phone will be swimming with waste products, now the phone is dead and gone, only my Sim card and battery survived. I don't even sleep in the afternoon again even when I remove everything that will injure her or she can spoil cos she'll definitely find something to spoil. When you want to shout at her or spank her, she'll start hugging me, pecking or waving her hand saying sorry.
#Rantover how old is she? don't beat yourself. the bolded is the beginning of potty training so cheer her up! truth is, it's a gradual process. keep encouraging her and when you notice she withdraws, get the potty and put her on it. Pls don't be frustrated! she's only a growing child and every step is part of development |

ifedior: Good day sabi mamas, I'm new here... Pls I need ur advice. My daughter is 3 weeks 5 days... Gave birth thru cs( out of choice)... Now I don't know how to shed the postpartum weight....
Secondly, I'm not on EBF. I give her Enfamil... My problem is that I've searched the whole of Enugu for it but to no avail. Please I want to know if I can change her milk at this stage? If yes, what's another good milk I can give her? If no, where can I get Enfamil in Enugu? I've checked Ronan, Shoprite n Spar ....
Thanks dearies for the bolded, I will say take a chill pill ! You had a baby only 3 weeks ago! It took 9 months to gain that weight, don't expect to shed it off expressly... right now, forget weight gain! Eat well and take care of your baby as for the milk, have you tried buying from konga or jumia? Alternatively, Aptamil is a good substitute |

When you say mix the cereal up,please what does it mean? I some times mix Nutribom and Nutrilac with milk so she can have a different taste from the normal. Is that it?
This teeth sef, hin wahala no dey finish?
Thanks mama my dear, for your sanity and if you are not ready for another pregnancy, go an insert IUD. It is non hormonal, anytime you are ready to take in, you remove it. it does not affect your cycle in anyway. otherwise, just prepare your mind say belle can enter at anytime |
