I'm sure everyone is doing great. I've not heqrd from some of us in a long while, Please come in and say hello to your teamies.

A lot has been going on in this thread of recent and we commiserate with those that lost their LOs. It's really hard to imagine but we pray for God to comfort them in this trying times.

We congratulate all the new joiners and wish them a healthy and safe pregnancy.

Like I would always say, when an incident happens; it is proper we take some lateral learnings from it and cascade to all in this thread. Knowledge is power! Our healthcare system in this country is not encouraging and that's why we have to be proactive and take personal and informed steps towards the success of our pregnancy. Maternal and Infant mortality is still on the rise! Let's not let our guards down. Only you experience symptoms, your doctor only sees signs. Make sure to bridge the communication gap between you and your healthcare provider. Ask as many questions as possible, read materials that you can reach.

This is the second case of still birth on this thread as a result of Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) . I'm sure a lot of us does not know what it means. I'm still doing my research; I will be back with my findings.

Recently also, we had a case of infant mortality that had to do with managing preemies. All these we need to discuss and educate ourselves. Nobody prays to be in such situations, but when you find yourself there, knowing what to do and getting help from support groups like this matters a lot.

I pray for God's protection over everyone of us and ask that we shall all come rejoicing with our babies in our arms.

A lot will be going thru your mind now, but we need to find out the root cause of these miscarriages to prevent future occurrences for you and everyone on this thread.

IT'S OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.....Still fresh in our minds is the day we said,"I DO". The awesome wedding and the honeymoon too. Now 2yrs down the track we are still so much in LOVE. enkaydewdrop, first of all - relax your mind! You are too tensed.. tension tightens the walls of ur vj and dats wia all the pains are coming from. If you say you are tight, afterall you were tight and you did the do dat brought belle so calm down . don't see it a s a painful venture, open your mind, ease your muscles. You need a lot of pre-intimacy to set the tune. Since you are pregnant, you have a lot of vag*nal secretions which lubricates your down below fast. Let DH use a lubricant as well and thrust gently, small small till you get to the promised land. Practise makes perfect. cherrymum1 has spoken well, oya go and return with testimony

Started having sudden strong contractions by 9pm last night..7mins apart..
Got to the hospital by 11pm..was 2cm dilated..
Was checked by 12am..was 7cm dilated..
By 12.30am, the baby's head was crowning
And by 12.35am, my little angel came out screaming and hungry..

enkaydewdrop, pele dear...I would say some people are not skilled in doing VE. When I had my 1st child, the nurse that was to insert that tab used to ripen cervix; when she started, I nearly punched her away. Her VE was sooooo painful ! I cried so tey I refused to allow her again. In the morning when my ob/gyn came (God bless competent hands), he was gisting with me and used that to distract me. His VE was not painful at all, infact I was surprised when after he finished, he told me he just broke my waters! No pain at all unlike that yeye nurse...lol

Bottomline is he ought to make you feel comfortable and relaxed before he starts the VE. Don't mind that his CS story, pain threshold has no hold on you. Oya wipe your tears and drink a hot cup of beverage

He refused it in cereals o. I tried mixing with Gerber oats he refused, I also tried with pap he didn't take it too. Though he enjoys plain pap.

Plain pap ke...lol. no nutritional value. Av u tried giving him diff flavors of cerelac or heinz? U knw gerber is really not really sweet, earlier my son also refused gerber. It's now he's accepting it.

Also try all the singing and eating along with him

My son has refused formula I tried NAN and SMA Gold but he refused all. Pls is there any other milk apart from formula for him?

My son also refused to take formula as in drink from his bottle, so wat I did is to add it to his cereals. Enuf milk in his custard, cerelac and Everyoda cereals he takes

Please how did you care for the navel till it went in?

When I help burp her over my shoulder, I can't help but feel I am squashing the navel. She also likes lying flat on my chest. Hope I am not squashing it.

She is very restless which makes us worried I.e. is it her nature or is she in some type of pain due to her navel.
And because she's restless, the navel barely goes in. I just checked now that she's asleep, still out!
Then the ped diagnosed her with colic the first time we saw him (navel was stil inside then). So the constant crying, straining and pushing ensures its out a good 97% of the time.
Please are there any general tips to care for such a condition? Like should her diaper be over or under it. Should we push it in sometimes as recommended by the doc? That is anothrr scary proposition as I do not want to cause any harm.

Don't worry daddy, your lo will be fine.
Put the diaper under the navel.
My son also developed same, when he was born it was absolutely flat and later started bulging. i didn't bother with any massage. he's 1yr old now and it is shrinking.

whatever discomfort she feels might be colic as suggested, do tummy time with her. It really helps
