The Islamists now control 65% of Afghanistan and have taken or threaten to take 11 provincial capitals, a senior EU official said on Tuesday. Faizabad, in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, on Wednesday became the eighth provincial capital to be seized by the Taliban.

I get you. It's sometimes hard to have an atom of sympathy such people. The vaccine is free. It's a privilege that some in other parts of the world do not have.

It's also no surprise that the delta variant is hitting the Red states hardest. The Orange Turd and many of his Republican colleagues have allowed a virulent anti-vaccine/anti-masking/anti-social distancing campaign to spread among their voters, reinforced by Fox News and other far-right wing media.

With the emergence of a new and more contagious delta COVID variant, some of their governors, politicians and media started realising that all their campaigns are against their own self-interest i.e. their voters are dying off. If you live in Nigeria and you are here debating American politics with venom irrespective of the side you support and you have not registered to vote or do not have your PVC then you are a bloody hypocrite who lacks the ethical or moral compass to engage in such conversations.

Please, redirect your energy to registering to vote in the forthcoming elections (local/State and Federal) in Nigeria. After you register please, take it a step further by encouraging your friends and community to register. Then on Election Day, go out and cast your vote and resist the temptation to sell your vote for a small packet of garri/sugar and groundnut.

Nigeria is no longer dying a slow death, it has become a fast death with no reprieve. Leave American politics alone! If anything use the American experience to educate your community that voting with your conscience is the only way to effect change.
