Edopesin:Trump claims only he can keep your portfolio afloat, but JPMorgan says a Biden win would be neutral to positive for stocks https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dont-fear-a-trump-loss-a-biden-win-could-be-positive-for-stocks-jpmorgan-says-heres-what-will-outperform-2020-07-06?mod=home-page&link=sfmw_tw In our call of the day, JPMorgan strategists say that, contrary to that view, a Biden win in November would be “neutral to slight positive” for equities. The Democrat’s major economic policies include lifting the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28% — partially reversing the Republican corporate tax cut of 2017 — and increasing the federal minimum wage. The investment bank’s U.S. equity strategy team also says it expects the former vice president to ease tariffs on China and increase infrastructure spending. |

Angry Trump Tells Viewers to Dump Fox News After Sunday Report on Poll Numbers https://www.mediaite.com/news/trump-tells-viewers-to-dump-fox-news-after-sunday-report-on-poll-numbers-tells-them-to-head-for-oann-or-newsmax/ President Donald Trump told viewers on Sunday evening to dump Fox News in favor of Newsmax or One America News Network after Wall Street Journal editor John Bussey weighed in on a Fox segment about the president’s lagging performance in the polls. “Fox News gladly puts up the phony suppression polls as soon as they come out,” Trump wrote in a message on Twitter. “We are leading in the REAL polls because people are sick & tired of watching the Democrat run cities, in all cases, falling apart. Also, now 96 percent Approval Rating in the Republican Party. Another 2016!” He added in a subsequent tweet, “Fox News weekend afternoons is the worst! Getting into @CNN and MSDNC territory. Watch @OANN & @newsmax instead. Much better!”

Zuorom:But not a HOAX from the British Defense Secretary, everyone knows Trump hardly read security briefings. Britain Confirms Seeing US Intelligence On Russian Bounty Plan https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/britain-confirms-seeing-intelligence-on-russian-bounty-plan-on-us-soldiers-2254731 London: Britain's Defence Secretary Ben Wallace on Tuesday confirmed having seen US intelligence briefings about alleged Russian bounties offered to Afghan terrorists to kill American troops. "I am aware of the intelligence," Wallace told a parliamentary defence sub-committee hearing when asked specifically about the alleged Russian bounties. "I can't comment on intelligence matters other than to say we take lots of measures to defend and make sure our soldiers, men and women of our armed forces, when they are deployed, are kept safe." The New York Times and other US media said Washington began sharing its intelligence with London last week. US President Donald Trump initially denied being briefed about the findings and the White House argued on Monday there was "no consensus" among intelligence agencies about their veracity. Russia has flatly rejected suggestions it would pay Taliban soldiers to kill US troops. But Wallace's comments suggest the findings were conclusive enough for the United States to alert its close ally about the potential dangers posed to its own forces in Afghanistan. "I don't think I would say that there is any greater danger (to UK forces) than the danger they face every day from Al-Qaeda or indeed other forces in Afghanistan," Wallace said. |
Poll: Biden maintains double-digit lead over Trump https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/02/joe-biden-poll-trump-347981 Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to lead President Donald Trump by a wide margin nationally, a poll released Thursday shows, as the race for the White House stabilizes, at least for the time being, with Biden well in front. The Monmouth University poll shows Biden with a 12-point nationwide lead over the president, 53 percent to 41 percent among registered voters. Last month, Monmouth’s poll told a similar story, with the presumptive Democratic nominee holding 52 percent support compared with Trump’s 41 percent. Thursday’s survey highlighted one of Trump’s major obstacles to reelection — the amount of the electorate which has made up its mind against him. Half of registered voters say they are not at all likely to support Trump, while 39 percent say the same for Biden. Whereas Trump benefited from a relatively unpopular opponent in 2016 when running against Hillary Clinton, Biden’s favorability ratings this cycle present a different challenge. Forty-four percent of voters view the former vice president favorably, the same percentage that view him unfavorably. Trump’s favorability rating, by comparison, is 17 points underwater. Biden’s lead has increased in every Monmouth poll since March, from 3 percentage points four months ago to 12 percentage points this week. |

garetz:One thing for sure is that this kind of intelligence briefing involving Russia will not be kept away from Trump since February 2019. As usual Trump and the WH will keep changing their statement every passing day. |
garetz:White House says Trump has now been briefed on Russian bounty intel https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/505293-white-house-says-trump-has-now-been-briefed-on-russian-bounty-intel President Trump has now been briefed on intelligence regarding Russian bounties on coalition forces in Afghanistan, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Tuesday. McEnany confirmed that Trump had been briefed on the matter during a press briefing Tuesday afternoon, but emphasized that there is still not a “consensus” in the intelligence community regarding the information. “The president has been briefed on what is unfortunately in the public domain because of the New York Times,” McEnany told reporters. “But that does not change the fact that there is no consensus on this intelligence that still has yet to be verified.” McEnany vociferously criticized the Times, which first reported on the intelligence on Friday, for publishing what she described as unverified information, saying it damages the U.S. government’s ability to collect intelligence. The Times first reported Friday that Russia covertly offered payments to Taliban-linked militants for successful attacks against coalition forces in Afghanistan. The White House denied that Trump or Vice President Mike Pence were personally briefed on the matter prior to reports about the intelligence. Subsequent reports have said the information was included in the President’s Daily Brief (PPB), a written classified document summarizing intelligence given to Trump daily. McEnany has declined to say whether the information was in the PDB. Trump is known not to read the written briefs and prefers to receive oral briefings a handful of times a week. |

The president had planned to hold a rally in Alabama ahead of the Republian primary runoff for Senate between former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville. However, the rally was canceled over concerns of a mass gathering. |
Breaking News: The House has introduced a Resolution to impeach AG Barr. House Judiciary Committee will subpoena AGBarr. Expecting Trump’s corrupt attorney general may try to defy a subpoena, the committee ponders eliminating the DOJ budget and other means to compel Barr’s testimony.

President Trump's campaign has canceled plans for a rally in Alabama next weekend as COVID-19 infections across the country continue to rise. Trump was expected to speak on his endorsement of his former attorney general Jeff Sessions’ opponent (Coach Tommy Tuberville) ahead of their tight Senate primary race. So much for the 'Democratic hoax' affecting Trump's campaign.

garetz:https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/30/us/politics/russian-bounties-afghanistan-intelligence.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage Data on Financial Transfers Bolstered Suspicions That Russia Offered Bounties Analysts have used other evidence to conclude that the transfers were likely part of an effort to offer payments to Taliban-linked militants to kill American and coalition troops in Afghanistan. American officials intercepted electronic data showing large financial transfers from a bank account controlled by Russia’s military intelligence agency to a Taliban-linked account, which was among the evidence that supported their conclusion that Russia covertly offered bounties for killing U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence. A statement by Senators who have attended the intelligence briefing at the WH: Democrats and Senate Republicans were also separately briefed at the White House on Tuesday morning. Democrats emerged saying that the issue was clearly not, as Mr. Trump has suggested, a “hoax.” They demanded to hear directly from intelligence officials, rather than from Mr. Trump’s political appointees, but conceded they had not secured a commitment for such a briefing. Based on the intelligence they saw, the lawmakers said they were deeply troubled by Mr. Trump’s insistence he did not know about the plot and his subsequent obfuscation when it became public. |
