He remembered seeing a video camera in the hands of another militant. “I saw my daughter in my mind, saying, ‘Father, father,' ” he said. He felt a bullet pass by his head, and fell forward into the freshly dug trench. “I just pretended to be shot,” he said. A few moments later, Mr. Kadhim said, one of the killers walked among the bodies and saw that one man who had been shot was still breathing. “Just let him suffer,” another militant said. “He’s an infidel Shia. Let him suffer. Let him bleed.”

“At that point,” Mr. Kadhim said, “I had a great will to live.” He waited about four hours, he said, until it was dark and there was only silence. About 200 yards away was the edge of the Tigris River. He made it to the riverbank, where the reeds gave him some cover. There, he met an injured man named Abbas, a driver at Camp Speicher who had been shot by militants and shoved into the river.

Mr. Kadhim stayed there three days with Abbas, who was so badly wounded he could barely move. Mr. Kadhim ate insects and plants, but Abbas was in too much pain to eat much of anything. “It was three days of hell,” Mr. Kadhim said. As Mr. Kadhim planned his escape, Abbas begged him to come back for him, and, if he could not, to at least tell the story. “Let everyone know what happened here,” Abbas told him.

A Cruel Fate
Back now at his family home here in southern Iraq, Mr. Kadhim, 23, recounted his story on a recent afternoon while taking a break from harvesting dates in his uncle’s orchard. His is one of a very few witness accounts, and perhaps the most detailed, to emerge after the June massacre of Iraqi soldiers stationed at Camp Speicher, a former American army base in Tikrit, Mr. Hussein’s hometown.
Mr. Kadhim spoke plainly and evenly about his experience, and how he set off from the riverbank on a nearly three-week, underground railroad-style journey through insurgent badlands, relying on sympathetic Sunnis to deliver him to safety.

The first British person to contract Ebola during the outbreak in West Africa has been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.
William Pooley, 29, has been treated in a special isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Mr Pooley was given the experimental drug ZMapp and has praised the "world class" care at the hospital.
About half of the 3,000 people infected in the outbreak, which started in Guinea, have died.
Mr Pooley was working as a volunteer nurse in one of the worst affected countries, Sierra Leone, when he contracted the virus.
He is unsure when he became infected, but started feeling sick and needed a blood test.
He recalled the moment his fears were confirmed: "I was woken early that evening by one of the World Health Organization doctors and immediately I knew it was bad news.
"I was worried that I was going to die, I was worried about my family and I was scared."
He was flown back to the UK by the RAF on Sunday 24 August.
Mr Pooley was in the earlier stages of the disease. He had a high temperature but was not bleeding.
He is not infectious to anyone else now. The virus is cleared from the body, and there is no risk to the wider community in any way”

"This unit is always there, it's business-as-usual for us, we were prepared for this to happen and we're prepared if it happens again."

As the Source of trilogy of history: the past, present and future, the Lord God has not kept us His children in doubt and in the dark as to the course of events on earth today. As world events unfold at such dizzying and astonishing speed in the global sphere, those of us with His Spirit are not perturbed at these cosmic phenomena. As a matter of fact, the King of kings and Lord of lords gave us a heads up and admonished us to lift our heads high amid the cacophonic events, because our redemption is at hand. Early in 2013, as I prayed to His Majesty seeking His face, He proved Himself true to His Words in Amos 3: 7: "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets." Consequently, when we make predictions and prophecies about people, nations, and the events around the world, we do not invent such prophecies and predictions, but we rely on the Holy Spirit Who is the Lord God Almighty reining in the hearts of true believers. As our Lord Jesus Christ told us in John 16: 13:"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." The Words of God are immutable, "what is yet to come" is prophecy about future events around us.
In 2013, the Spirit of God Almighty revealed to us that a new wave of world terrorism never experienced before was in the offing beginning from 2014. We predicted it thus as reveled by the Spirit of Truth: "There will continue to be wars, instability and general state of anarchy in the Arab world and Israel will increasingly be the butts of hatred and animosity from her Arab neighbors in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. A new group of Islamic terrorist organization will spring up this year and announce the firing of Ayman al-Zawahiri. No matter how administration officials try to parse President Obama's statement on ISIS or ISIL last week, the administration has been caught flat-footed. Mr. Obama was being frank with the American people; the United States has yet to come up with coherent and coordinated counter-insurgency measures against this terrorist cancer. During the same period when the Lord gave us this revelation, we disclosed in our prophecies and predictions thus through the unction of the Holy Spirit: "The Lord Jesus Christ said the war on terror will not be won if we Americans do not purge ourselves of our sins. He said He spoke to our nation through several warnings, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack was one of such strong warnings, but we still do not get it. He said; "Unless the LORD builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the He-the Lord watches over a city, (over America) the watchman (Homeland security) stays alert in vain," (Psalm 127: 1). The American church should commence a national revival to purge the United States of her sins before it's too late. The Sovereign Lord of the heavens, the earth and all that are in them is not pleased with Hollywood. Messrs. Hugh Heffner and Larry Flint should pray seriously to survive this year 2014. The Lord said He has given the two men ample opportunities to repent of their "moral pollution" of the United States and the world but they have not heeded His Grace. The Lord God Almighty says He will continue to demonstrate His displeasure with the United States, because of our sins through nature and climate; desertification, drought, tornado, cyclone, hurricanes and the likes which will be unusual this year." It was like a sense of deja vu again, from former Prime Minister Tony Blair to former President George W. Bush and their total ignorance of what the religion of Islam is all about. It is incredible how these powerful men with all the world's intelligence at their disposal continue to display their total ignorance of a religion that is built and sustained through war and beheading. It is sadder still that President Obama has followed the footsteps of these leaders by categorizing Islam as a great religion and religion of peace. Either because these leaders have dealings with the Faisal Family of Saudi Arabia and their monarch friends in Jordan and Qatar and thus have interacted with these leaders who say they're Moslems and thus see Islam from that perspective or because of the few pockets of Moslems in Europe and America who gave a different version of Islam, we in the West see Islam as a great religion and religion of peace. This is the fundamental lacuna in any critical assessment and judgment of Islamic terrorist organizations and gaping loophole in any policy to contain this virulent and deadly cancer.
You don't assess a religion or any faith movement on what its adherents say, rather you read what its founder and propagator says in its book. Islam has a book called Al-Quran, said to have been inspired by Allah who to the adherents of the faith is the Lord God Almighty. All it takes for any conscious searcher and seeker of the truth and determined mind in the Western world to know the tenets of Islam is read the Quran. Before Prime Minister Tony Blair, David Cameron, Presidents Bush and Obama proclaimed publicly Islam as a great religion and a religion of peace, have they read the Quran at all? Do they know what the Quran says that Moslems should do to Jews and Christians? Do they know what Prophet Mohammad tell Moslems to do to non-Moslems and Westerners? All these talks about Islam as a great religion and religion of peace pouted by our ignorant leaders in the West is the very reason our war on terror will never succeed, because we think that ISIL and their supporters are a handful of lunatics and radicals who can be isolated. That is why not a word has been heard from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar and other moderate Islamic monarchies in the Middle East since ISIL madness began. For those of us who knew Islam inside out, the real Moslems are the ISIL. They are the authentic followers of Prophet Mohammad, because the ISIL and their supporters are doing exactly what Allah commanded and Mohammad taught in the Quran. We disclosed as much in our book; "The Kingdom of Satan Exposed," and until people in the West cure their ignorance of what Islam is all about and understood what the religion teaches in relationship to non-Moslems and Westerners, we will continue to be our own worst enemies as Pogo said.
The West is deluding itself that somehow we can reach across the religious aisles and negotiate with ISIL and their bedfellows. How do you negotiate with someone who has been taught that killing you is a top priority as a religionist and be rewarded? How do you inspire someone who doesn't dream? How do you tell someone to discuss with you when he's coming to kill you as a sacred religious obligation to his god? I am sick and tired of this ignorance in the West of what is fundamentally different between Islam and Christianity. Christians are the ones saying that Moslems and Christians worship the same God and we're brothers and sisters. No genuine and real Moslem will say Moslems and Christians are brethren and worship the same God. The Quran never said that Moslems and Christians worship the same God. Never will you find it in the Quran that Moslems and Christians are brethren and should embrace peace and sing Kumbaya together. The Moslem god, Allah instructed Moslems to kill and behead Christians and when they do that, they would be rewarded in heaven. Prophet Mohammad, the founder of Islam commanded all his followers-the genuine ones who are ISIS, ISIL, Boko Haram, Ansaru etc-to look for Jews and Christians anywhere in the world, hack them to death and slice their throats like sacrificed sheep. As a matter of fact, the Quran gave a graphic detail of how the death should be administered; you don't just kill a Jew or Christian because if you do not carry out the execution the proper manner as commanded by Allah in the Quran, you will have no reward in Al-Janna (the Moslem's paradise). Your reward in killing a Jew or Christian as a follower of Allah and supporter of Mohammad is to use a knife-not a gun-slice the throat-not the stomach-and then you will be rewarded by Allah. That was demonstrated by ISIL and ISIS in the barbaric execution of James Foley on You-Tube for the world to see the other day. It was a trophy for that ISIL Moslem who carried out the execution as Allah commanded. These are the people of the great religion? These are the Moslems of great peace? Do you notice that up till now, the Faisal Family of Saudi Arabia hasn't condemned any of the barbaric atrocities of ISIL or ISIL? We know why; because they know these ISIL or ISIS are the "real" Moslems," the "real" worshipers of Allah and the "genuine" followers of Prophet Mohammad.
All these beheadings, killings, butchering and assassinations being perpetrated by ISIL, ISIS and Boko Haram were carried out by Prophet Mohammad himself when he was alive so he laid the examples for his followers. This is why it befuddles many of us how can our leaders be so naïve, ignorant and stupid not to understand the satanic forces arrayed against us in the West. I am always taken aback why Americans are at their wits end when they see horrific pictures of ISIL brutalities in the Middle East, the carnage being unleashed by Boko Haram in northern Nigeria and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations around the world, because while we see these despicable characters as sub-humans and evil; they on their end look at us as evil that should be destroyed hence America is the Great Satan. These philosophical differences and mindsets on the world's religious spectra go to the core of Western civilization and Pan-Arabism. The late Prof Samuel Huntington of Harvard School of Government did a dialectical analysis of these diametrically-opposed mindsets and world views between the West and the Arab-Islamic worlds and ended his thesis with what he called; "the clash of civilization." As a materialist in his life time, he lacked the spiritual insight to properly situate the two ideological contours playing out in the spiritual warfare for the souls of human beings on the earth today. This is not a clash of civilization; this is a spiritual warfare between Good and Bad; God and Satan. But unfortunately, the West is not the good either, if truth be told.
