Is this error-filled announcement/statement really from JAMB? Shameful! |

fotadmowmend:You mean Sijuwade. No Olugbo will try that with him. This Ooni really needs to live to the bidding of his position. He needs to live worthily of the throne. |
There was a government. #bringbackJonathan |
How much? |
Evestar200:But Uyo has not really favoured the Super Eagles. Hope this will be different. |
Soyinka is a poet and poets don't always speak in plain language. His words could assume a variety of metaphorical and figurative interpretations. But if he meant what he was quoted as saying in ordinary terms, I will say those expressions were really disappointing. |
PROPHETmichael:This type of amendment requires more than a SIMPLE majority, where AYE or NAY is the procedure. Aye and nay are not used in situations involving ABSOLUTE majority. |
Naija registered toks? Why don't you remove the number plate so people can believe it's toks. |
In Fela's voice, this is GOVERNMENT MAGIC. Let the magic continue. Getting more interesting. |
Royals1st:Yeah, you're right. Someone even said recently that Nigeria should be leased to China or Germany to manage for at leased two decades. But some African countries gained independence before Nigeria and are doing better. |
Yesterday, I overheard one of my neighbours complaining that she went round all the shops in Rumuokoro area of Port Harcourt to get the Nigerian flag for her daughter who was to take it to her school today in celebration of Nigeria's 56th independence anniversary but to her chagrin and consternation, none of the shops had the flag on sale. Maybe we now need to order the Nigerian flag from the US! This afternoon, just as I was going home from work, I took my time to survey the boutiques along the popular Ikwerre Road to see evidence of Nigeria's independence celebration, and to my utter dismay, getting a shop selling an attire with green white green was like looking for a grain in a bushel of chaff. There is absolutely nothing to show Nigerians are celebrating their independence or that they are in celebration mood. I still remember vividly, by this time last year, the shops along that same road were filled with a plethora of attire in Nigerian colours. You would see traditional attire, face caps, shirts, skirts, cowbow hats all in in Nigerian colours, were conspicuously displayed. What I have observed here may not generally be accepted as presenting a true refection of what is happening all around the country but I am certain the picture may not be very different in other cities and other parts of the country. I then asked myself what has gone wrong? I came up with about three reasons discussed below. 1. The economic recession has bitten so hard that shop owners cannot even restock as the old stocks are probably still lying in their shops as most people can hardly feed, let alone buying clothes. Thus, if they have not sold the old stock, how will they have money to buy new ones? 2. Consumers are so powerless economical or financially that they cannot even think of buying any clothes, let alone the one they wear just to celebrate a country they feel has let them down so badly. 3. The feeling of nationalism among most Nigerians is so low, if not totally dead that they don't even want to be associated with the country any longer. How else will one explain the fact that one cannot get one's country's flag to buy in the country, whereas USA flag and even Ghanaian flag is everywhere? This is better appreciated if one considers the recent clamour for a sovereign state by the Igbos; the Niger Delta struggle for emancipation and the crack in the ruling party which has even led to a section of the country, which we all know kick started the formation of the ruling party now calling for the formation of their own indigenous party. There seems to be no section of the country that is happy. This is a strong signal, an ominous one at that for our leaders to wake up from their slumber. The economy is not smiling at all. Change begins with the leaders. These are the reasons I came up with. If you have other reasons, please share with us here and you may also give us a picture of how things are in your area, whether different or similar to my observation. - from an impassioned and apolitical observer. |
Good one! Their excesses are unbearable. |

Soyinka," the black man who teaches the white their own language" ---BBC. You have done well Prof, taking the fight to the domain of the white man and giving them a good run for their money. |
soberdrunk:Very true. From experience some perceived auto problems just normalize on their own except very serious ones that are also too noticeable. If you say you want to take your car to the mechanic each time you notice something you may end up coming back with more problems and before you know it your car is already a scrab. |
That's what they do. He probably first asked you for your location. Once you tell him he will then tell you the car is in another location. For example if you tell him you're in Lagos he may tell you the car is in Abuja all in an attempt to make you send the so called fuel money for delivery. But why don't you just expose the identity of the scammer? |
The primarily responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens. No job, poor economy, no security. THERE WAS INDEED A COUNTRY. |
Drew0:It's certain you're not talking about OAU. |
Why are we so quick to attribute everything to MILITANTS? I didn't see any connection between these attackers and militants. |
OK, tanx. |
OK, tanx but what causes the incomplete combustion? |
Looking through the tails of some exhaust pipes, you will see how clean and neat they are. If your food mistakenly falls into it you may not have any problem picking it up and eating but examining some others, you see them full of charcoal-like substance, very dark? I find it difficult to believe this reflects the state of the engine because funny enough, I see some old or tokunbo cars with clean exhaust but some new cars with soot covered exhaust. Does the quality of fuel or the car fuel system contribute to this or what could be responsible for this? Civil and enlightening comments will be appreciated. |
I always appreciate cars with very clean stainless exhaust but why are some full of charcoal-like substance? Does this reflect the state of the engine because funny enough, I see some old or tokunbo cars with clean exhaust but some fairly new cars covered with Soot covered exhaust. |
Anyi3:This is wizard hunt. When the culprits are easterners or southerners, (Ibo's or Niger Delta) the terminology is WITCHHUNT, if it's northerners, it's called WIZARDHUNT then if it involves westerners, (Yoruba) we should call it OGBANJEHUNT |
pmadise:Your comparison and analysis are faulty. First, fuel consumption is determined by a number of factors even for the same make and model. Second, how can you compare a 92 model Honda with probably a Corrola of 2000 or even 2003? What the op wants compared are cars of same year. If you have used Babyboy and Tinylight then compare them. |
femeritus:My friend, I made the comment above when I hadn't even driven any Honda car. That's what most people say. The Toyota mentality has won Nigerians over but Honda is a very good car. I am speaking from experience unlike most people here because I have used the two cars and I can tell you in terms of performance and design, Honda beats Camry Tiny light hands down. I had the cause to travel with the two on many occasions and I can tell you, the Honda car is superb. The fuel economy is out if this world. On one occasion I even doubted whether my fuel gauge was still working. Its parts are also available and affordable. The only area Toyota may do better is in resell value due to the unfounded belief by Nigerians that Toyota is better. By and by, there are only bad users and not bad cars. Enjoy. |
Good day all. |
Pyno30:Funny, how can stolen public funds be his personal cash? |
DaBullIT:Thanks bro. |
