The last time I contacted him. I observed that the guy does not have what it takes to do the business. He said he will have to take the collateral with him before he can release fund. That really put me off. I never see such condition before. He was not even talking of the papers.
Really? That's serious. So if I am using a car as collateral I have to release the car.

When I took these pictures, I had waited for over 2 hours after the rain and the water level had gone down yet it was still like this. More pictures.

PoliticsGRA Phase3, Port Harcourt After Rainfall (Photos) by femeritus(op): 8:08am On Nov 05, 2015
This beautiful and road in GRA Phase 3, popularly known as Rotimi Ameachi Drive, is always flooded any time there is rainfall. My office is around the area. On such days like the ones in the pictures,I just leave my car, remove my shoes, roll up my trousers and start trekking but some motorists defy the flood and drive amidst it, most especially Jeep owners. Though the road is good, the poor drainage system always leaves the road flooded.

See pictures below.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Hallel Sixth Form College by femeritus: 4:53pm On Oct 30, 2015
The school is a good school. Heard their secondary sch teachers earn less than 80k bt I have no idea what d A Level teachers earn . The sch is an international sch bt their teachers are among d least paid international sch teachers in Port Harcourt, according to unconfirmed report ( because I dnt work there) . You may give it a shot but the only problem is that you are coming from Lagos. Also consider what salary you are expecting.

I got some info abt their pay here. Check it out

CareerPhd Or CIPM? by femeritus(op): 4:41pm On Aug 25, 2015
I completed my masters degree programme recently and have been looking for a job. I have taught in some international secondary schools and also have some experience in administration , including top management position in one of the schools. Now, I am tired of the hostile working environment in the school, coupled with the fact that there is neither job security nor future there. I want to further my career but I am considering either going into management (CIPM) or doing a PhD programme, since universities these days do not even consider masters degree holders for academic positions (except you can present an evidence you have started your PhD ). I did my first and second degree programmes in English ( not Education) with a brilliant performance. Please I need advice on where you think my chances of securing employment are brighter. If the resources were there, I wouldn't have minded doing the two simultaneously but now I have to prioritise. Please advise.

Thanks.

What would you do if you are offered an appointment that you need to accept or reject within 24 hours and resume work but you are 55% sure another company in less than one week will give you a better offer that could double the salary the first company offered but once you accept the first offer, the contract states you need to give one month notice?

What would you do in these circumstances?
PoliticsRe: It Was Sacrilegious For APC Governors To Boycott Ooni’s Burial – Afenifere by femeritus: 8:05pm On Aug 17, 2015
The problem with the Yoruba race is their inability to forget the past and move forward. Nobody is holy. Some of the people commenting here will do worse things if they were in the Ooni's position and some are merely castigating him out of sheer jealousy that the Ooni has the type of recognition their king can never dream of. But nothing can be done about that. That's the way history has it. You may try but can't rewrite it.
When will Yorubas learn to forgive? In the words of the legend Ogunrinde, Yoruba ronu. E jawo lote. An eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. MKO Abiola denied Awolowo, a close friend of Ooni Sijuwade and the hero of the Yoruba race his right and also worked with some powerful politicians to deny Ife the capital of Osun State so the Ooni probably didn't see the need to support Abiola's mandate. Instead of condemning the thief you blamed the owner for not keeping his belongings properly. Now, the Ooni is no more, some Yoruba cannot accord him the last respect. There are obas in Yoruba land who openly support APC. Would these governors have done the same if they were the ones who passed away? If errors were what God watches, how many of us would stand? The earlier the Yoruba learn to forget the past , the better for the race. If not, in the words of Lagbaja , mo sorry fun gbo gbo yin o. That's why the Hausa are better.

AutosBest Price For Honda Babyboy 98 by femeritus(op): 2:01pm On Jul 14, 2015
I recently sold my Camry 99 model and would have bought another Toyota car but the ones I like are above my budget. I love Honda too even though some people have been discouraging me against it. I am confused cause I have not used Honda cars before. I just saw a Honda Babyboy 98 model that is very clean for 520k. Is that a good price? mileage is about 160,000, alloy, auto, etc, not first body.

Gurus in the house, please advise.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Massive Academic Job Recruitment At Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University by femeritus: 5:02pm On Jul 07, 2015
The truth is that they are not creating any job for the unemployed. Even a fresh PhD holder does not qualify for ANY of the positions. Just check the positions: reader, professor, lecturer I, lecturer II, etc, no graduate assistant, no assistant lecturer. The implication is that it is those lecturers already employed in other universities that will end up taking the appointments. Some lecturers in Nigeria have up to 3 full-time appointments, while the young Masters or even PhD degree holders will not even be allowed apply. A lecturer in the university where I did my Masters programme was found out holding two found out holding two full-time federal appointments. This was exposed because he stepped on the toes of an unforgiving colleague who vowed to deal with him. Only God's kingdom can help us.
EducationRe: Meanwhile, Back In Osun State This Is How OAU Students Sometimes Get Water. by femeritus:
I find this unbelievable. I graduated from OAU in 2007 and throughout my five-year stay as a student, I never saw anything like this. Water and power supply were constant. There was only one instance I remember there was no water and to tell you how strange it was for OAU students not to have water, even though it was in the middle of the night, ever progressive, ever conscious, ever militant OAU students mobilised themselves and rushed to the water authority office and when we discovered the workers there were confounded and helpless, we went straight to the VC Lodge where the VC (the amiable and respectable Rogers Makanjuola ) attempted to address students but his voice was drowned by students shouting "go to Awo Hall", that is, the political headquarters of Ife unionism. Rogers had no choice than to go to Awolowo Hall where he explained the anomaly and pleaded with students to be patient till the following morning. By now it was already 2 am. True to his words, the following morning, just as we were preparing for lectures, there was water.

Professor Rogers Makanjuola, I respect you. We need people like you in politics. Dr 3's, Comrade Olawoyin (aka Revo) ex-presidents of OAU Student Union I am waiting for you to lead this country.

I have been to so many universities in Nigeria, including a reputable Federal University in the South South Region where I did my Masters degree programme but the bitter truth is, there is no school like OAU in Nigeria. Where do you even begin? Is it academics, structures, infrastructures, international acclaim, student unionism?

As the saying goes, there are only 2 universities in Nigeria - OAU and the rest! No exaggerations.

When I saw this, I thought someone had useful information. This is not what I asked for. That my interview comes up next week does not mean everybody will be invited for the interview the same day. Most advertised interviews are held in batches. That's why I said guess. I only know my dates. I wouldn't know whether some will do before or after me.

I am a writer and I want to start a publishing company starting with the books I have written but I don't know much about company registration. Someone advised I register a business name, which according to him is very simple and may not cost more than 11k. Please if you know what is involved in registering a company and the pros and cons of a Limited Liability Company and a business name as well as differences between them please share with me.
Thanks.

Still and Yet performs the same function in a sentence therefore wrong for both to be in same sentence as used by you.
You can either say "yet to be discovered" or "still to be discovered" .

TV/MoviesRe: Workers Shut Down AIT, Raypower Over 17 Months Unpaid Salaries by femeritus: 8:24pm On Jun 04, 2015
I live in PH and for some days now I have not received AIT signal. I thought it was my TV initially but in the morning I drove past the gate of AIT and discovered it was barricaded. Now I see what the problem is.

Some business owners are just wicked. They spend money recklessly while owing the people who make the money for them.
I can't imagine not getting my pay for just a few days after the month has ended let alone for months.

If they are not fit to run the business, then they should pack up. I just pity the poor workers who will be jobless, who are already fed up but have no other place to go, suffering but smiling. Let your kingdom come.
EducationWhich Is Better? by femeritus(op): 7:56pm On Jun 04, 2015
An employer has a choice to make between two applicants who are equally qualified for a job.

The first candidate has a 2.1 in his undergraduate degree and also a 2.1 (a little above 4 points) in his masters degree.

The second candidate has a 2.2 in his first degree but a First Class in his masters degree.

If you were the employer, which of these two would you consider better, using only the class of degrees as a yardstick.

Logical comments will be appreciated.
