Why not keep quiet if you don't have anything to say. |
Teeklef:Your proprietor cares. You need to appreciate that. |
Why are they not talking about reducing the cost of governance? Suppose Buhari is pro masses now is the time to champion the cause of drastic reduction in salary and allowances of public office holders including the National Assembly. There can be no better time to do that than now. Champion it and let the masses lend their voices. The NAS will have no choice than to back down seeing the present reality. If that is not done now, it'll be a great missed opportunity. Anyway the Nigerian masses still don't recognise how powerful they can be. We're too docile in this country. |
Nice one. I'm in. |
By Dare Adekanmbi Nigerian Tribune, May 10, 2020 Concerns over the risk of Nigeria breaking up with some ethnic nationalities pulling out of the union appear to have been heightened with the admission of the Yoruba and Igbo nations into the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO). UNPO, an international organisation established in 1991 and headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, assists ethnic nationalities that are repressed in the countries they are part of and helps them make a case for independence before the United Nations (UN). The body, last month, admitted the Yoruba and Biafra nations as its 45th and 46th members respectively, a development that has been greeted with mixed feelings in Nigeria. Speaking exclusively to Sunday Tribune on the implications of the decision, leader of the Yoruba World Congress (YWC) and renowned historian, Professor Banji Akintoye, warned that the break-up of Nigeria is imminent if the leaders failed to restructure the country properly to address concerns of all nations that make up the country. According to the leader of the Yoruba World Congress, the Yoruba nation can now hoist its own flag within Nigeria, having been offered international protection against its repression within the country. “Our admission into UNPO goes so far. For instance, we live in a country where our progress has been impeded continuously since 1962. We can now really resist, find an answer to that and not continue to be part of Nigeria’s retrogression and decline. “And ultimately, when the time does come, our people…can say they want to hold a referendum to determine what they really want. Some countries that were members of the UNPO have achieved their independence and become members of the UN through the help of UNPO,” he said, On his part, the founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, also in an exclusive interview with Sunday Tribune, said it was just a matter of time before Biafra would gain sovereignty as an independent country and a member-state of the UN. https://tribuneonlineng.com/yoruba-biafra-unpo-membership-risk-of-nigeria-breaking-up-now-higher/ |
What do people gain by telling blatant lies? Get your facts rights and stop telling lies. I don't know about Oba Oyekan but the lie you told about Tinubu betraying Abiola puts a question mark on everything you said. Have you heard about NADECO and RADIO KUDIRAT named after the slain wife of Abiola? Google and find out the role of Tinubu in all of these. The radio station was Abacha's nightmare and Tinubu was a major financier of the radio station and NADECO as well. I'm not a fan of Tinubu but let's call a spade a spade. tomakint: |
Wike's style is that of a governor who has lost touch with reality and does not have control over the people but is only clinging on even a straw to protect his wounded ego. Laws are meant to be enforced because there'll always be law breakers. You don't punish the entire people because a few persons refused to follow your directive. His own style is OK, I SAID DON'T GO TO MARKET BUT YOU'RE STILL GOING THEN LOCKDOWN, LOCKDOWN,LOCKDOWN.!!! But then how will people obey when they were not considered in decision making. Right now not even pharmacies or supermarkets or filling stations are open and you want them to continue like this indefinitely. Before the lockdown you didnt even open the markets at least for a day or 2 and yet you say it's all about the people? Only fools believe that. You may have a grouse with FGN and maybe rightly so but don't make the people who voted you pay for this. |
The police assaulted her first. That's what the woman is saying but I think she overreacted. |
All we hear are loans with no development. Obasanjo did not take us to the promised land but paid our loans and got some loan pardons too to ensure the nation was set on a new path. His successors should have consolidated on that. The present administration knows nothing than going on a borrowing spree with NOTHING to show for it No power, no water, no good roads, refineries are just a shadow of themselves, no good healthcare, education is suffering, security is hmmm. Please I need someone to educate me on what the achievements of this administration are. |
I hope they are aware that unlike US and UK, there is no government palliative here. And even when the manage to get something, it's one cup of garri per family. |
Oga Nami, were you appointed to work or complain? If the job is overwhelming, better resign and allow a competent person take over. We're tired of this blame song. That's how the present government complained about Jonathan for good 4 years until the gimmick no longer sells. Only mediocres complain and trade blame instead of getting to work. You probably think that'll save your arse but Nigerians are wiser. |
Well done. Are there mobile policemen blocking some roads? |
This is the type of information we need on the front page. |
This is the first time I've heard this before that fuel stations go on an industrial action but what do I know? The Commissioner for Energy Resources has expressed his concern over the incident. He also berated the union for the action, calling it uncalled for as the State government, through the ministry has worked assiduously and has met most of the demands made by them, including the release of some staff who are in police custody and some petrol tankers said to have been impounded by some government agencies for various offences. |
Na wa o. No black market to even buy from. Please share your experience if you're in PH. |
Commercial drivers and private car owners are not finding it funny in Port Harcourt right now as filling stations have refused to dispense fuel. This, according to reports is as a result of strike action embarked on by petroleum workers protesting the seizure of tankers by the armed forces. Authorities concerned should please do something fast. This is a very sad situation. |
This is a welcome developmental stride that'll benefit everyone and every part of the country. No need to hate. Lagos economy will still be vibrant. The decongestion of the city of Lagos and ports is also a blessing. When the capital was moved from Lagos, people feared Lagos would collapse but the opposite is the case. Let other areas be developed too and that's how we can all develop. Your candle cannot light brighter by blowing other people's candles out. |
Good move from IPOB, which the SW should replicate. I just wish the whole of the south (south west, south east and south south) could unite together for once and forget about the past. That's the answer to emancipation. Together, there's little we cannot achieve. Divided, there's little we can achieve. |
Great move. All without making a noise. I doff my cap. Other regions should emulate this so that this ugly trend of killer herdsmen can be nipped in the bud. Shame on Afenifere. |
The truth is that the country has gone so bad that the ONLY source of joy these poor people have is making love to their spouse. You may say why don't they go for family planning but many of these people cannot afford the cost of family planning. Even if it's free, some can't even afford to use the only money to buy garri for the family for that day to transport themselves to the hospital and so the cycle continues. If you've never been poor, you won't understand. God punish poverty. Better I have what some call VANITY than POVERTY. |
The headline is misleading. He should remain where he is for the meantime so he can continue getting the playtime necessary for his football career. He'll sure get bigger teams later. He should learn from Iheanacho's case. |
The king of Heavy Weight Boxing, Anthony Joshua is not even there. Seems that Division still has a long way to go. |
