Studentcosmos: I was arranging some old books yesterday and found a notebook from about three years ago. It was full of sermon notes.
As I read through them, I couldn't believe how much God had taught me that I had completely forgotten. It also made me realise something else.
Over the years, I've written notes in different notebooks, saved Bible verses on my phone, bookmarked sermons on YouTube, sent messages to myself on WhatsApp and even used Google Keep.
Everything is scattered.
I'm beginning to think that taking notes is not really the problem. Keeping them organised is. So I'm curious...
How do you keep your sermon notes?
- Traditional notebook? - Bible with handwritten notes? - Notes app on your phone? - Voice recordings? - Dedicated Bible journaling app? - Or do you simply trust your memory?
Personally, I'm trying to move towards keeping everything in one place because I've realised God often reminds us of things He spoke months or even years ago.
I'd really like to hear what has worked for other Christians.
It is not about writing notes, are you living according to the notes
Don't just write if it will not reflect in your character
Naustine: U probably forgot that he can't use the n word in his songs coz he's white... These guys u classify as hardcore rappers seem to go hard cos they are can use the N word anytime to make bridges while rapping.
More reason he cant have the crown. He created his own style
Naustine: Lol.. u finally accept that Eminem beat him in all ramifications of rap right? Bro pac is highly rated based on the projection that he would have been the greatest if he hadn't died at his prime .that could or couldn't have been true..but when u rate rap by every standard of it and yardstick.. Eminem is undisputed
You cant compare both.
Eminem forte is storytelling, he cant go hard like 2pac, Snoop, Dre etc
Naustine: Was Tupac batter than him in anyway? I doubt. Pac had passion and you could tell from his voice. But punchline, lyrically and artistically. Em is way better
They have different style
2pac is a hardcore rapper while Eminem is a storyteller
Reference: Oh, yes you can. Organisations, companies, service providers can only safely and efficiently accommodate a certain number of 'users' in their databases.
Be it banks, registries, mobile telephone operators, what have you. That is why the battle is always on to weed out multiple entries, the deceased, etc by down time limits, payment default limits, regular authentication changes, etc.
When you go to a typical motor registry office and they complain about 'network', most times it is simply data overload.
It is absolutely meaningless to continue to keep records of a certain1995 automobile registered in Enugu but has since been scrapped, recycled into steel rebars that sits in the foundation of some duplex in Ibadan.
Where was I reading that very soon there will be more dead people on Facebook than live ones....oh yes you can run out.
lolz, it appears you missed permutation and combination in mathematics
Dregs: We should be careful with whom we choose to have a child with, get married to, and spend our lives with in this period.
To be honest, I don’t buy into the idea of growing distance between me and my child, nor with her mother, who has been the worst-case scenario in my life. I do my best to provide for my daughter’s needs, but recently she got sick and her mother has been dealing with the situation alone—caring for the child—while I provide the finances. It hasn’t been easy on my end either.
With all this happening, she is disrespecting me and building resentment, as if I’m happy with our current situation. I’m working hard to bring my child closer to me, but her mom being in the picture makes it a long and difficult process. I didn’t get it right with this one, and I feel like I shot myself in the foot by going with the “baby mama” approach as a way to have a child.
Man, it’s one of my biggest mistakes. I’d rather wait a long time and be well settled in life than follow that path for raising a child.
Sometimes I don’t blame men who choose that lifestyle, because women these days often don’t honor their men or respect the sacrifices we make to keep the family happy. I love my child, and I hate to see her upbringing go this way.
Seun2019: Today, I read an "official statement" from Nigeria Society of Physiotheraphy where it was stated that the late Mary Habila was not a physiotheraphist because she did not belong to the society.
This statement is not only misleading, it is grossly incorrect.
The essence of this topic is therefore not to defend the deceased (or Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works) but to enlighten those who may have been misled by the statement and state what the law says.
In Nigeria, you do not need to belong to the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) to legally practice physiotherapy in Nigeria.
Apart from being a graduate, you only need to be registered and licensed by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
MRTB is the federal government agency empowered by law to regulate the profession and issue practicing licenses.
Below are the four steps to legally practice physiotheraphy in Nigeria.
1. Earn a Degree: Hold a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.PT or BMR) or a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) from an accredited university.
2. Complete Internship: Undergo a mandatory one-year clinical internship at an accredited hospital.
3. Register with the MRTB: Complete your registration and obtain your legal license.
4. Complete NYSC: Fulfill the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) requirement, if applicable.
So, you do not need to be a member of Nigerian Society of Physiotheraphy (NSP)
NSP is just a professional association and labor embodiment for physiotherapists in Nigeria.
It is nothing but a pressure group that defends the rights of therapists, provides continuing education, and offers professional indemnity.
Its membership is voluntary, though it is recommended for career networking and professional growth.
NSP is just like Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) which is another pressure group. You do not need to belong to NMA before you can practice medicine in Nigeria.
Thank you
Wrong
No, you cannot legally practice as a physiotherapist in Nigeria without registering.
Just like medical doctors, physiotherapists are regulated professionals. Practicing without a license is illegal and punishable by law
Same in Engineering, it is illegal to practice without registering with COREN
Reference: The problem with that is if every purchased automobile has a new number, new or used, imported or traded locally, sooner than later....over decades of course, the FRSC will run out of numbers and will be saddled with an enormous but largely useless data base.
So they want the numbers recycled and the best way is to tag the numbers to people rather than the vehicles themselves.
Now when a person is deceased or incarcerated, or insolvent for organisations, just like mobile telephony identification the numbers can then be retired and reassigned after a period of time.
lolz
You can never run out of numbers when it comes to alphanumeric combinations
Stephen0mozzy: First of all, gatekeep nor mean gateman 😅.
In street terms, it means "to dey hide update or discourage people from trying to do wetin you dey benefit from".
You may have heard someone say it, or even said it yourself, that if to say na "black man" invent many of the free things we have access to today, na only them and their family go dey use am.
We've seen this with friends, colleagues, neighbours and even siblings sef... One person will get a certain opportunity and will start making some really good profits, but they will deny that that there's money in it, or some will mask their strategy by saying "na God dey help me o".
We scarcely share things for general benefits. Some will even ask you to pay for something that they got for free sef. Why is that?
1. Is it because we had a bad experience in the past when we maybe shared something and they didn't appreciate?
2. Is it because we wan "better pass our neighbor"?
3. Is it because we want people to always depend on us, instead of just teaching them how to fish.
Share your opinion and experience. Also, share your positive experience in sharing "updates" and the reward/gratitude you got from the person you helped.
- Let's have a weekend conversation 😁
A mix of selfishiness, abuse and I better pass you mentality
techbro1: Having sold cars over the years, some customers never come back for their number plates. Many have left the country too making them have no use for these items.
These plates are everywhere in my house and I have no use for them anymore. Is there a way to recycle the plates or can they be sold back to the licensing office?
KStylist: I've had about ₦3.9 million before, but that money was saved for a specific purpose. Spending it recklessly would have set my life back by years. This, however, is different. For the first time in my 31 years, I' have just made my first ₦1 million that's truly mine, not capital, not borrowed money, not savings set aside for a project, but pure profit accumulated over several months from a small business I've been running. It feels like a completely different milestone. How long did it take you to earn your first ₦1 million in actual profit?
10 months..when 1m still has value, as far back as 2008
