Dizzy K Falola is a pastor in the UK. I actually spoke to him I think a couple of years ago when he invited me for their Church anniversary and I couldn't attend. I believe he's doing fine.

uyai:
what is ICAN, just curious
It means " I CAN do all things through Christ that strengthens me" grin grin grin

Just kidding, it's the acronym for "Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria"

@Poster

Like you've heard from others, don't be discouraged, it used to be harder to pass during our time in the early 90s, but God saw us through. Even though I'm no longer a practising Accountant now, the discipline I gained when preparing for the exams has stayed permanently with me. How can I forget those sleepless nights is Students PYE and Mayo Associates? The joy of passing will swallow all the past disappointments, believe me.

You will make it next time in Jesus name. Amen.

Honestly, I don't think what you'll gain in a Nigerian University is worth 5 years of unemployment.
How much do you think you will be earning when you graduate, anyway? What about job experience?

Stay in your job, invest your income regularly, and one day you'll have enough to start a god business.
Invest in trusted shares like Dangote, Dangote, and Dangote that will grow over the next few decades.
Wise advice!
FamilyRe: Should Ac Guy Marry Sc Lady by femi4love(m): 3:52pm On Jul 24, 2007
I know a couple with the man being AS and the woman SC. They did the tests 3 times at 3 different labs. Before they got married, the man prayed hard and God assured him that they wouldn't have SS children. They have children now with the first being AA miraculously and the second AS.
I actually know this couple and their children and I saw the tests results with my own eyes.

I don't know your relationship with God, but all I could say is for you to pray, if you are convinced and you love this lady to withstand whatever the outcome will be, which could be positive or negative and you have the blessing of both yours and her families, then go after your heart.

I don't think you actually understand what this topic or the poster is all about, are you just taking this personal? There's nothing politcal about this post, but rather social. I think your brain is only filled with politics. If you were one of the children affected, I'm sure you would think differently, may be correctly. If you've never experienced poverty before, I pray you don't ever, because not many people were born into wealth, including the ill-gotten one. Some of us are where we are today because of our selfish leaders. Thank God for His grace to turn a servant to a king. Ask people who were in secondary schools between 1979 and 1985, they will lecture you on the effects of "Austerity Measure" on their education and social well-being. Those of us who are now a bit privileged should take the issue of people who are suffering as a matter of importance and sound our support loud and clear for any just move to make positive changes in the society.

yusuf_@, I hope you have heard the words of the "wise" and experienced. One thing I like about this forum or should I say I discover about it is that we give one another true and sincere advice. The road to success is not without it's hassles and ups & downs, but like I said you have to be determined and don't give in to temporary setbacks. (Talking from experience). Well done to all the contributors, you said right and I felt you spoke from your hearts.

@Chubistone, don't worry I will write you since you have your email address on your profile. Shalom!!!

I'm not surprised about this thread, unprogressive people will always look for or try to conjour problems where there's none. People just make stupid statements as if they never passed through school, ( Or is it the other way round??). It's not hard to know this type of people, just read their insensible topics.

CareerRe: How Much Do MCSE Holders Earn In Nigeria? by femi4love(m): 11:30am On Apr 25, 2007
It's true that MCSEs earn good money (or better) outside Nigeria, by God's grace I am one. It should however be noted that you need to have experience and skills to be able to earn that kind of money. My first IT job 8 years ago after qualifying ( without experience) was £20,000 per annum. I went on to qualify as a CCNA and also completed a BSC Hons - Computing. You need to choose an area of specialization as an MCSE, e.g Desktop Support, SMS server, Exchange Server, SQL server or recently WINTEL support etc. It's easier to make more money as a contractor than a permanent IT staff (min £18 per hour for the least of Desktop support Engineer).

Depending on your career path, you need to have good customer facing skills to be able to succeed in IT support, most especially if you are supporting non-Africans. You also need to be able to sell yourself and convince your employers that you are the right person for the job. However, don't be afraid because most of us learned and are still learning on the job and Rome wasn't built in a day. With prayer, hardwork and determination, you can realize your dream. that's my little contribution.

God bless.
Christianity EtcRe: Did Hiv Test, came Out To Be +. Wat Should I Do? by femi4love(m): 1:55pm On Mar 20, 2007
This "Backslider" guy  is the WORST Christian Counsellor I've ever seen in my close to 40 years of existence, there's nothing Jesus-like or compassionate about his comments. I pray God will touch you by His Spirit. You are like the people that made me receive Christ late (at 17 years old) I am almost 40 now.
YOU TALK SOMETIMES LIKE THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN. How could you tell someone who's professing he now has Christ as his Lord and Saviour to "have received a death sentence"? You must be a backslider as your name is. Please keep YOUR EVIL mouth shut and stop your "loveless" preaching.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Did God Plant That Tree In The Garden Of Eden? by femi4love(m): 3:44pm On Mar 08, 2007
I'm afraid, it seems most people on this topic have either gone crackers or just ignorantly fanatical. This particular question can not be fully answered except by GOD ALMIGHTY Himself. There are questions in life that no mortal no matter how spiritually developed can answer. This is part of the reason why God is Omniscient (All-knowing), If humans know all answers to all questions, then we have become like God.

I remember my Dad telling me that God had a purpose for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the same way we all have electricity outlets in our homes, if you plug a bulb, it will give light, connect a fridge, you will have cold drinks, but touch with your hand and you could end up in the grave. Some Power outlets have "DO NOT TOUCH" notices to avoid fatal accidents. Everyone knows that going near a rail line is instant death if a live rail is contacted, that doesn't prevent some people from committing suicide using this method here in Britain. People should face the fact that no one can adequately answer this question except God Himself. I hereby rest my case.
FamilyHelp! Friends Wife Is An Unrepentant Witch by femi4love(op): 6:18pm On Jan 26, 2007
A friend is in a big Dilemma (Or is it "Dimela"?, as Jade Goody's Mum(UK's Celebrity BB) called it) grin. He married his "born again" wife over ten years ago and they have 2 children. According to him, she was always accusing people as a witches or wizards, including a former pastor of theirs and his wife. A recent strange behaviour made my friend to seek spiritual help where it was revealed to him both physically and spiritually and in his dreams that this woman is actually a witch responsible for his problems since they got married. This woman has refused to change and has even vowed to deal further with my friend. This friend being a born again Christian and having been warned by God to stay away from this woman has lived without her for 9 years and wants to move on with his life. This woman is still attacking him in dreams and using blackmail. She parades herself as a "minister" in one of the most popular Nigerianchurches. She never denied her witchcraft when comfronted. WHAT SHOULD HE DO?
Christianity EtcRe: Christians: Does God's Word Allow Divorce or Not? by femi4love(m): 1:56pm On Jan 16, 2007
All the contributions are really interesting in this matter. I have a case at hand that I need you guys' views on.

A teenage friend of mine got married 14 years ago to a wonderful lady. Unfortunately he was very unfaithful and was sleeping with whatever he could (including attempts on wife's sister and neighbour's housemaid). Eventually, he got his old girlfriend pregnant, but his wife still without a child. They are now separated for about 5 years and my friend is with the other lady. They are both professing Christians. They are not divorced yet, but there's no end in sight for there problem. The woman wants a life. She is VERY miserable. She was the bread winner and most of the things she ever worked for are now being used by the other lady.

Does she continue like this until she dies? DON'T OVER "SPIRITUALISE" PLEASE. Thank you
Christianity EtcRe: The Poison Called Prosperity by femi4love(m): 3:44pm On Dec 12, 2006
In all this, there's need to remember that Godliness with contentment is great gain. Making God one's focus and being contented with what one has, without being lazy and allowing one's pontentials go untapped will give peace of mind. I don't believe that every Christian or believer will become a millionaire, but that doesn't mean one is poor. There's need for proper definition of prosperity. For me, it to be the best God intends for you according to Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1.

Shalom.  wink
Christianity EtcRe: The Poison Called Prosperity by femi4love(m): 4:41pm On Dec 07, 2006
@chx Prosperity is good by the way. The churches are bastardizing the topic i agree. But let us remember that once u serve God, u are guaranteed prosperity even if u don't go to church.

I believe your service to God could only be maximized when you serve the body of Christ, which is the church. The church is not the building, but the people. You can only serve the people when you fellowship with the people or keep contact with the people. Forget not that serving God is about serving the people of God. God doesn't need your money to feed, He was working in the beginning and He still works. Jesus served the Father by seeking for and saving the lost on earth, He didn't stop there, but went to the temple ( Even when he was only 12), to listen and teach the people and also heal them.
Christianity EtcRe: The Poison Called Prosperity by femi4love(m): 1:26pm On Dec 07, 2006
When I visited Nigeria earlier this year, I realized that we now have so many ministries (churches), with most of their pastors as either Prophets or apostles. I have no problem with this as long as they are recognized as such by God. My main concern are the people who go to these churches. I hope people take time to test the Spirit (or spirits) operating in these churches. As a true child of God, one has the responsibility of not just praying but watching as well (The reason God gave you 2 eyeshuh). Please be careful if all you hear always in church is about prosperity, true relationship with God will confer the benefits of being blessed on you as a child of God. God promised to supply our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19) and I tell you from experience HE WILL NEVER FAIL.

Nevertheless, if you attend a church where they don't talk about storing your treasure in heaven by spending your time and money for the cause of the gospel, then the doctrines are not balanced. Read Malachi chapter 3, this is between you and God and nothing to do with the pastor. Be settled in your conviction as to what God's will is for you regarding prosperity and ask God to give you the grace to discern who His true ministers or ministries are, that way you will not sow in barren or dead land.

God bless
