Got this building snapped as I stopped by to buy Orange around Lekki, Lagos this weekend.
I don't know the name of the building and surprisingly even the woman selling me orange doesn't know it too but it reminds me of Big Ben in UK.
This church looks like Cathedral Church at CMS. I recall putting a picture of something similar some pages back.

Can we please stop spreading rumours? Why do most Nigerians not research before believing something? Sometime in 2008, I was told and was also shouted at by my dad to switch off my phone. What happened? Some people called him and told him "Biko, switch off your phone as cosmic rays will come into Earth through phones and affect us".

PoliticsRe: List Of Buhari's 36 Ministers And Their Portfolios by Feraz(m):
I can hope Ogbonnaya Onu delivers with the portfolio given him. This is one ministry I would love to see move forward in Nigeria as oil prices fall. We can only move forward as a nation if Sci. and Tech. coupled with some other sectors are paid great attention to.

If Ministry of Power has been scrapped, what role will Fashola play since he has been assigned that post? Someone enlighten me..
PoliticsRe: Rotimi Amaechi Gets Minister Of Transport by Feraz(m):
If some of you commenters know what transportation entails and what it generates for a nation, you may not write like this. Congrats to him and I hope he delivers.

theV0ice:
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Transportation has been expanded. Imagine ministry of Aviation is now under Transportation with Hadi Sirika as a minister of state(Aviation) under transport.

As it is, Aviation, NIMASA, Railways, Shipping business etc are under him

Not a bad one if you ask me wink

My bro, do you think plenty of the commenters here are that sharp to know? forget them pls.

Imagine an adult Nigerian laughing at the minister of transportation cheesy
The ignorance is appalling. According to Wikipedia:
Transport or transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another. Modes of transport include air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles and operations. Transport is important because it enables trade between persons, which is essential for the development of civilizations.

ProfShymex:
Anyway, the way forward for Igbos is Biafra.

You lot just need a better leader. A miscreant and hate speech preacher like Kanu is a disaster waiting to happen.

And now that there's momentum for the cause, it's time for educated Igbos to get involved and be strategic about it.

If you're Igbo, you're a Biafran. But learn from the mistakes of Ojukwu and stay away from the SW where you lost the first war.

Igbo children deserve a better future and Nigeria can't offer them that. The country is only going to get worse.

Best of luck.
Of recent, I have seen you also agree that Nigeria is a 'zoo' in some of your comments. I thought you were pro-Nigerian? huh

DOn't you think you are peddling lies with the bolded? Was Geometric not already on ground before he was appointed a minister?
PoliticsRe: My Igbo Brothers, It Is Time To Restrategise Not Biafra by Feraz(m): 11:24am On Nov 11, 2015
EUROBOMBER:
I personally think that the loud call for Biafra by some misguided few is very unnecessary. Why this hypocrisy? Jonathan arrested a lot of MASSOB members and we didn't have this type of protests.

Jonathan promised that he was going to finish the second Niger bridge before 2015 and he did not do it! Why did Jonathan not build the deep seaport at Ibaka which would definitely positively impact the economy of the east after 5yrhuh The weak ijaw Jonathan quickly removed our own Ihejirika as COAS when the north cried of his excesses against boko haram.

Jonathan is not Igbo; he is ijaw. The ijaws are a highly unreliable and treacherous group of people. The behaviour of edwin clark says it all while on nairaland we have barcanista aka tonyebarcanista. It was barcanista that started the talk of Lower Niger comprising the SS & SE but today he is describing Igbos as land grabbers and expansionists.

Let us be sincere with ourselves, this sudden loud call for Biafra is linked to Jonathan's defeat at the polls otherwise why didn't we use the opportunity when Jonathan was there to actualise Biafra? Why do we now expect Buhari to give us the Biafra?

There is nothing wrong in making mistakes and we should accept that we made a political mistake by voting the weak ijaw man in the person Jonathan. let us begin to reach out to the other big two i.e the north and the west to see how we can produce the next president after Buhari.

And for those of you that hate Buhari so much, you can at least console yourselves with the fact that he will not rule forever.

OBJ was there before, today he is not there, Yar Ardua, GEJ were there before and today they are not there. Buhari is there today and in future, he will not be there so why all this madness?

Power is transient!

A word is enough for the wise.
I don't think the bolded is necessary. You could have made your point without bringing their personalities here.

For the topic, I asked myself the same question - why wasn't this protest happening under Jonathan but now happening under Buhari? The way most of my people are going about it is not wise. All of a sudden, I hear it is now becoming violent which isn't supposed to be if truly people are to support your cause. Why aren't they agitating for resource control? What of our selfish Igbo leaders who would rather invest outside Igboland than in the land? So many questions to be asked but few answers.

londoner:
I don't think it is about Jonathan losing the election but the anti-Igbo sentiment which happened around that time. Although there is a long history of it there was a straw that broke the camels back. The utterances of the Oba and Buhari's 5% remarks basically confirmed to Igbos that they will always be considered underfoot.

There is often a general sentiment that Igbos are second class citizens in Nigeria ( not withstanding the few tokens). There is also a belief that an Igbo will never be president and this is without considering there may be some fitting candidates but their Igbo heritage discounts them in the minds of people.

I too believe that the call for Biafra is unnecessary and it is Igboland that is suffering. The reawakening towards the east should have been used more constructively.
What is happening now is a wasted opportunity.

If you feel perpetually unequal in a society you look for somewhere else to call home. Nigeria has ignored that feeling of both the Igbos and the oil producing tribes for too long.

I'm proudly Nigerian and would rather see genuine conciliation than any Biafra. Aside the Nigeria issue Igbos themselves need to tell themselves the truth about their own Igbo leaders and how they have woefully neglected their states and how Igbo businessmen have rejected the idea of building up their region to the point that they may look down on someone who has not gone to Lagos or Abuja to invest or do business. Igbos have to look at their own mentality too. It's very easy to lump all the blame on the rest of Nigeria but they lie to themselves if they do that.
The bolded, very apt!

I've met a few people interested in Astronomy here. in Nigeria.

Why not you guys start crowd funding for money to build yours? Start small, build a sundial and look for apparatus. Get a small building and write to universities and observatories to see if they have old equipment they can give you. Charge as little as possible so people can visit and I'll tell you other ways to get funds.

You can start the first observatory in Nigeria smiley
This is an awesome idea!

MathsChic:
The Grand Canyon is a piece of history. I'm pretty confident there are a number similar sites in Nigeria; there just isn't much knowledge about them. The country needs to work on making such sites topics of public discussion. Just like the canyon is.
Just keep visiting and collecting knowledge. It'll serve its purpose in eliciting curiosity in your kid. That'll go a long way
The bolded, very apt! In addition to it, you hear questions like "Who this kain place don help"? I believe public discussion as proposed above will go a long way to help.

But Oshiomole was/is the best 'thing' after sliced bread according to some of my coursemates back then in the University of Benin. I recall when University of Benin students protested because of how he treats people and also issues about his thugs (agberos), it was tagged a PDP sponsored protest but how come now, issues of protests here and there are springing up in almost all parts of Benin-city going by what I read here? Are the protests PDP sponsored?

Damn! These pictures aren't doing his tenure any good.

do age matter, i am 28, with 2 masters, have a really good job in ph but i love watching naruto, one piece, death note, bleach and all super hero cartoon movies.

does that make me less of a man.

OP tell her to go eat shite
Please, what is your house address let me send you a truck of Hero beer? Hope you drink beer? wink I am a die hard Naruto fan (there is even a thread for that here), Hunter X Hunter, Black Bullet, Shingeki no kyujin, Terraformars, Code Geass, so many other animes and read mangas (my signature is gotten from one of my favourite character - Pain). Even 3D animations are not left out. I admire the creativity of the person, the arts, the storyline etc. Heck, I had to get a software called 'Autodesk Maya' to try modelling some characters.

OP, tell her to go boil stone. Does watching cartoon make one immature? I wonder why some people here in Nigeria see it as such. Countries that make these cartoons have what we call 'COSPLAY' and many people attend - even adults. They also wear the costume of their favourite character. Does that make the people in those advanced countries 'immature'?

The other time, I was watching Hunter X Hunter (an anime) and some people I happened to be with at that moment were like "You should stop watching that thing called cartoon. It makes you immature! You aren't a child anymore! Only children watch cartoons!"

I'm like "What are you saying?"

It's not like many act more mature than I do. grin

My brother, thanks a lot.
The problem as rightly pointed out is that some people have the lowest form of IQ and they just cannot imagine things done outside of the way they know it.they think if they don't know about something, it does not exist. Unfortunately for them, all they know is the wrong way everything is done in Nigeria.

I remember in 1990s when i returned from USA, i had told someone that the mobile phone technology sweeping the USA then will someday be the greatest tool of bridging the digital backwardness of Africa. Infact, a time will come people will make telephone call from Amichi to USA. The men there argued so blindly that day, asking funny questions as; where will we see electricity required to power landlines, who will fund the wires on the pole,Whose land will the poles pass, will Nitel have a staff office in Amichi, even if they did, who can afford a mobile phone in Amichi etc, etc. they concluded that "America had entered my head" and thus i couldn't reason anymore. While indeed, it was their poor IQ that was preventing them from seeing what almost everybody else in the world had seen by then. Needless to say, i reminded the same men about our argument later when MTN reception reached Amichi and i called them on their phone and spoke to them from USA in 2004! grin

A similar argument that thought cell phones were an impossible thing is happening here about cows.
The way fulani rears cows and walks them thousands of kilometers is wrong and archaic. Comparing that ancient and outdated way of rearing cows to the modern ranching method is similar to the comparing how chickens are raised in the villages by allowing them to roam about and find whatever it eats,, to a modern poultry way of raising chicken to maximize eggs production and meat. The problem is that a villager that has never seen nor imagined a modern poultry will argue you to death that such isn't possible in Nigeria.

Permit me to ask - are you from Amichi?
