Rsconcept: he first plane produced by a Chinese government initiative to compete in the market for large passenger jetliners has been unveiled in Shanghai. The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) showed off its twin-engine C919 in a ceremony on Monday attended by some 4,000 government officials and other guests at a hangar near the Pudong International Airport. China's aviation market is growing fast but relies on Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The ruling Communist Party wants to claw back some of the commercial benefits that flow to foreign suppliers. "The roll out of the first C919 aircraft marks a significant milestone in the development of China's first indigenous aircraft," COMAC chairman Jin Zhuanglong told the ceremony. The aircraft, which has a range of up to 5,555 kilometres, will make its first test flight in 2016, he said - meaning that it will miss the original deadline of this year. http://www.dailynewsextract.com/first-china-made-passenger-jet-leaves-production-line-more-than-500-orders/ CC: lalasticlala, ishilove My people, una see the kain function wee politicians dey go. Look at how they started and look at where they are heading. If Nigeria had started like they did, we will not be where we are. Even Singapore we (Nigeria) had independence before them has gone far. India of recent (in the month of June) tested their first home made aircraft carrier and some years back, they sent a space probe to Mars. We are still very far in terms of technological development! |

Cuche: The solution to waste management in largely populated areas is to reawaken people's consciousness that waste is money. Partnering with the Germans and the Japanese on this will be great. They are a success in churning rubbish to multi million dollars ventures. Funnily enough the recycle plant get its raw material(waste) free of charge I've been studying the feasibility of turning my sewage tank to biogas for electricity generation. One group is promoting that although I'm yet to be convinced of its sustainability. I mean beyond the video clip demonstrations Aptly put! There was a day I watched on TV how the vehicle conveying wastes in Japan was used to power the vehicle. They take it to the waste plant, after some recycling, the driver uses the fuel pump to fill the same waste vehicle. |

AnambraDota: Thanks Gee for understanding me. Anytime I write against the airport Chino and Odenigbo will devour me, I will always maintain that Anambra most not do all at the same time.
I repeat Anambra State doesn't need a cargo airport for now, there is Enugu Airport two hours drive, there is Imo Airport two hours drive both international and cargo, Asaba Airport is 5mins drive from Onitsha, why shouldn't we leverage on these surrounding airports to survive instead of wasting another billions like Jigawa and others.
Use the airport money dualize industrial roads in Nnewi and Onitsha, connect Atani Rd and Uga Street with flyover across the express, connect MCC Rd and Orifite Street in Awada with another flyover so that vehicles from Awada down down will be going direct to main market.
What is the plan for Ngene and Anambra Waterfront, why not use the airport money dualize most Anambra Road and wait for when the need for airport will rise.
Anambra state is exploding populationwise and the need to improve on basic animities will always overide the need for luxuries.
Infact the need for a light rail line that will connect Nnewi with Onitsha should be the best song now instead of an airport that will be seeing few airlines. The bolded is what I look forward to seeing in Anambra state. Also, a cargo rail won't be a bad idea as it will be used to convey goods to other parts of the state and Nigeria. |

IGBOSON1: The environmental agency responsible needs to start getting rid of all the accumulating sand sediments building up on the road sides ....especially in the city centers! It's so annoying and takes away from the beauty of the roads!
Also, if they could remember sidewalks for pedestrians when constructing roads that would be appreciated! Gbam! I also hope they have plans to put bicycle lanes alongside the roads? I will like to see a case where healthy means of transportation will be utilized in addition to railway projects (who knows if there are plans for these and if yes, what kinda rail transportation?) so that cars will be reduced. |

PRINCEZUKO1: lol, clearly you dont know what predictability means. What you just mentioned as the flow of OP happened in just 10 of 28 arcs and fact still remains that you can never tell where the trouble is or how it'll go till it all ends and that's how Oda keeps his audience till the end. If you say OP has storyline faults, come to the thread lets discuss it. And pls dont come telling me how you think the story should've been written, point out flaws in the writing. The only credible fault one can give it is its arts style, yet that's the style best suited for its frequent fun times. A stupid story is when your greatest villain is a good-boy-turn-bad because the girl who friendzoned him died. LMAO! Epic punchline! But was it his fault? omenka: Joy Ogwu should be heavily sanctioned for dereliction of duty. She should be made to understand this isn't Jogogoro's era where a lackadaisical approach to important events were the order of the day. It is her Job to coordinate the president's itinerary and she has obviously failed in that regard. Sack the layabout and let the Wailers go to hell is it pleases them. It's interesting how you decide to pick out the point that suits your argument using ' almost 100%' so the woman can be blamed while leaving out the fact that ' a letter of invitation was also sent to the office of the Vice President'. Will you also term this a 'sabotage' by the VP? You guys denied the president being invited previously but now that a letter was sent to the VP, will you say they were not duly informed? Except you want to say the president and his vice operate on different wavelengths. You know, you used to make sense on Nairaland and were previously objective ditto for other supporters but right now, I can't say anymore. Party affiliation has killed many here - APC and PDP inclusive. People here on Nairaland accused Joy Ogwu of sabotage saying she is from ' the land of 5%, the flat.heads, the erosion-ridden land, the land known for having baby factories' so therefore, they will do everything to make sure this government fails; can you also apply the same to the side of the VP? I am asking all you hypocrites. . . |
Politics › Re: UN Counters Nigeria, Says Country Properly Invited To Missed Boko Haram meeting. by Feraz(m): 11:13am On Sep 30, 2015 |
In an email to PREMIUM TIMES, on Sunday, backed up with a list of events the President’s delegation was invited to participate......But a spokesperson for UNOCHA, Jens Laerke, who is based in Geneva, told PREMIUM TIMES over the telephone that not only was the office of the Permanent Representative of the Nigerian Mission to the United Nations officially informed and invited for the event, an invite was in fact sent to the office of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, prior to the departure of the Nigerian delegation to the UNGA. For the blue coloured, where is the sabotage by the Igbos according to some Nairalanders if an invite was also sent to the office of the Vice President? Will this also be termed a sabotage by the Yorubas? Instead of the different entities down South to come together and create a formidable team, they are busy fighting themselves online while their leaders finish their resources with reckless abandon. . . Instead of admitting you made a mistake, you try to put it someone who has always been competent and the followers, not wanting to admit there was a mistake on the part of the president's team, agree like those who have taken opium being fed by the party. Human nature I guess? I wonder when we Nigerians will analyse issues objectively irrespective of party affiliation. How I miss the Nairaland of old. . . |
