Reason;
1.) Strong and aggressive defense, how do you achieve this. Use their default formation pairing Janufran(RB) Giminez(CB) Godin(CB) Felipe Luiz(LB).

Tactics; Set your Advance Attacking Instruction to (Janufran <defensive> (Felipe Luiz <defensive>. Reason for this are; When attacking your LB and RB will likely always been in your own half, so through balls will also rarely catch them off guard.

2.) Strong and Offensive Midfield, pairing the likes of Saul and Koke, trust me, very good combination of Strength, Power, Long Range Shot and Speed.

3.) Explosive Wingers, the likes of Correa and Gelson will give you but Attacking, Accurate, Crosses and Defensive Prowess.

4.) Strong and Fast Finishers, pairing Diego Costa and Griezman gives you everything you need in your attack. Heading, shot, just name it.

Lastly and most importantly, set your Advance Defensive Instruction to TIGHT MARKING on your opponent striker only.
N/B: The Defensive Instruction are two(2) set both to TIGHT MARKING only on the striker. Trust no pass (low or through) will get to him.

I was ps2 gamer also before i promote to ps3 in early 2019 pes 2018 .

my ps2 style is also based on possession game.

i try to play this in ps3 but i was only able to gain possession in my half . I find it hard to create any chance .

i was using barcelona then.
the only luck i had is that i was playing with gurus
they told me to change my team to smaller team . I choose ajax
i was taught how to create chances using L1+x
i was later good at Creating chances and scoring .
i can score alot but can't defend well .
i learn how to defend by watching others defending
Later i choose couter pressing style of defending (almost like gegenpress) but this is manual pressing ie i close opponent down by immediately marking his player when he receive pass.

immediately i see his pass bar i will quickly press L1 so that computer will change cursor the nearest player to his player that will receive the pass

this work well for me against possession gamers but failed against couter gamers

How about you teach me how to do that

1. Press box to always pressurize him with your team mate while using the one you are controling to block his passing lane

2. When you loose the ball make sure your fowards is your first line of defence ie draw them back to mark

3. Have it in mind that no matter what he does he is still coming to the middle of your box ie when he is attacking from the wing, he will still back to the middle

4. Use middle as your containment area

5. Compact your players

6. Do not draw out your defenders to mark

7. No matter what make sure your defender do not come out to mark Unless he is close (closest) to your box 18

8. when you see his teamate trying to run past your defense use the player closest to follow him while you use your teammate to apply pressure on him

9. use all out defence in your defensive instruction

Like me I learn the hard way. PES 2013 was the game i use in learning. Due to low system specs i can only play exhibition and champions league without formation setup. PSG was my team back then so i just start the league select psg and top player difficulty and started playing. I was thinking it to be like ps2 run and shoot but from this perspertive life is hard.

So i have to adapt to their possessive game style, learn through passes, tiki taka, how to place ball, shoot with less power for better accuracy, learn to pass the ball till i get to the othe goal post and other stuffs. Sometimes[b] i get fustrated because i hardly gain possession, [/b]that is, they always pass the ball around. I even went ahead to edit settings and edit PSG team to be strong so that i can stand a change yet i still learn the hard way.

@bolded I get frustrated alot sometimes I quit like today I chose arsenal and played against Barcelona they won 5-0 at first then 1-0 the third game I had to quit it

For me they are way too strong and better and their counter is fast. If t get use to them at this stage using other team will affect you i mean it will be hard for u.

if you are using basic shooting always make sure your shot is 3/4 of the shot bar.
keeper are also useless against L1+box when you are close to the goal keeper

L1+box loops the ball right....what about parallel shooting
