Yes, Nigeria is on Qatar red list, meaning you can not enter Qatar. However you can transfer through Qatar. Even though the same word transit is used for passenger transfering to another destination and passenger on Qatari transit visa, it is not the same thing. Those with transit visa get to leave the airport.

I was about booking for Qatar Airways today and someone pointed my attention to the fact that Nigeria is on Qatar red list. That it might affect my transit through Doha to Manchester. I got confused cos I thought I've seen some people here, who has booked or travelled through that route.

Bikonu, anyone who has travelled using Qatar Airways or who has knowledge of this should pls help clear this doubt. Or is there a process once has to complete in order to use the airline.

BRP letter.
CAS letter/Offer letter.

You may include any receipt showing you have paid for accomodation, or something to indicate where you will be staying. (this is not compulsory) if you have none. Insist on the school address if you are asked.

This is peak period, Qatar Airways prices will go up in September as most airlines will anyways. People should consider using Airmaroc as well. It is cheaper and faster than Qatar, just not as luxurious so to say and Lands usually at Gatwick instead Heathrow so you have to think about transportation.

Again, you can try to arrive in the other airports, Manchester or Newcastle International, Birmingham (not just London).

If that doesn't drive down your cost try and use Abuja as departure point (this works for British Airways).

If your school has enrolment enabled online as well as blended or online learning you don't have to rush. You can book your trip in October/November.

Don't use Ethiopian, Kenyan Airways, Rwandair. These countries are sitting comfortably on the red list. Unless of course you have £1700 to pay for government enforced quarantine (some schools claim to assist for this though).

Lufthansa, KLM, Airfrance are all flights based in the EU from which the UK has exited. You will need a transit visa to use any of these airlines. Average visa processing time is 2 weeks.

If you are arriving in an airport close to your school, your school may have meet and greet team that can take you to your uni, free of charge. Find out from the international office.

If you haven't used rail before, I won't recommended that you use it for the first time upon your arrival. It can be stressful asking about your connections, which platform to go to and handling your luggage.

Best take a taxi, expensive but stress free.

If you land in Heathrow you might consider hopping on a flight. Buses are usually priced high from Heathrow terminals. Sometimes the same cost as getting on a flight.

If you are staying in an hotel it is cheaper to book online than on the counter.

Finally make your research, plan your transportation ahead so don't get stranded at bus and rail stations. I have had to rescue a few people from such calamities a number of times. And our people with their bags.

One man brought meat - all body part, with one bag stacked with indomie. He said he bought tthe bush meat on Benin - Lagos road. Had six bags. And was looking confused at the bus station. Worse, he didn't even have where to stay. I had to put him in an hotel with my money (he was waiting for Tetfund money)

Remember you can use can still use FORM A for transfers/payments from your Nigerian account while in the UK. Those being sponsored by family do not necessarily need to buy FX from the black market to send to you.

This is not marketing banks, but a cheaper alternative.

- Tuition fee balances (or installments as the case may be) : Paid directly to the school
a. Same documents used for tuition deposits

- Accommodation/maintenance : Paid directly to school/landlord/agent or your account
a. Form A
b. Admission letter
c. Accommodation bill for the month/quarter

I advise you get to know your account officer (a knowledgeable one) or the Operations head in the branch
- Complete an email indemnity
- Request for a few forms (if they allow it)
- Get your internet banking setup and request a transaction token

This also works well for spouses that still have businesses running in Nigeria and get funding in naira.

PhD in the UK. Do you have the money to pay every year. PhD admission process is quite different from Masters which is straightforward and less complicated. For PhD you will submit a proposal, find a supervisor that is willing to take you or has research interest aligned to yours etc. The process is nuanced from school to school.

You can do a Master's program again. Someone here has a PhD and she is going for Masters again. She has her Visa already.

Either going by school or going directly. Both are good. I will suggest that she can go to school while she gets to process her registration with NMC.

Thank you very much. The money is still in my account and can still be maintained for the next one month from today, so i can always reprint another statement for the next one month. The POF is very okay if I want to apply alone but short of 1.6m if with my dependant. But my question is, Can I apply first for Visa with the POF using priority service and maybe a week after my visa is out i can print another updated statement as POF for her to apply as a dependant? Please I will appreciate your contribution.

Sorry about this. Once you've submitted your documents you can't upload additional ones. You will have to contact UKVI using a paid service.

Are you going for a 2 year course? Did you only pay for the first year. Top up payment means they already received something from you. You are to pay that additional fee cos your study end date was extended!

You can send a paid mail to clarify or go ahead and pay (as none payment will terminate your visa processing) then claim a refund later if you've overpaid.

Friday August 20th is the last day for you to apply for Visa based on your Statement.

You can not pay tuition unless you have someone in the UK who is willing to pay the deposit for you instantly. You can then attach the receipt of your payment to your application, since the school doesn't require deposit you don't need a new CAS.

This is the only way possible otherwise you will have to run that PoF again.

Hello everyone, please I need an advice from Justwise and other gurus in the forum. I have unconditional offer from GCU and University of Aberdeen, I have paid tuition deposit to GCU for over 3 weeks now and my POF has matured since 20th of july, since then 3 weeks ago, I have been mailing the GCU requesting for CAS but no response uptill now.
Just yesterday I sent the same POF statemen to university of Aberdeen and they confirmed it that yesterday and gladly issued me CAS statement this morning without tuition deposit or pre-CAS interview.
My question now is can I apply for visa with the TB result carrying glasgow adress? And my POF is 1.5m below the required amount for me and my dependant (wife). I have the 1.5m that I can pay to the school but I'm afraid as it may not reflect in the CAS statement before I apply for visa. Is there a way I can manage using the same POF and TB result for visa application. So that I will just request for refund of my deposit from GCU. Thank you

It is not a MUST that there must be transactions on both days. Granted that some people don't just know how to count. It is rather a matter of if doing those transactions helps you get your calculations much more accurately. Just ensure your opening and closing balance is sufficiently indicated.
