Romance › What Do Your Parents Call Each Other? by ffo(op): 7:21pm On Dec 28, 2012
I have just noticed what my parents call each other recently.

My dad calls my mum "iya" sometimes "momo" while my mum calls him "daddy wa" and sometimes "babaa".

Fellow Nairalanders, please share yours with us, lets know what your parents call each other, some may sound old school anyway (laughs).

Sijo01: Of cause i won't be!...... Lets be realistic here. For how long has EFCC and ICPC been on ground now, fighting the monster called corruption? Though they are trying but is there any reduction so far?..... The more they try, the more it springs up. A reasonable number of Nigerians have the mind of embezzling public fund and properties if opportuned...... So, lets face it, bro!
That is the reason why we should all start from our homes, environment, society, class rooms, offices, churches, mosques, etc

gboss4sure: Thanks for your writeup. For corruption to go away, We as they people have to realize that our leaders are using tribalism to cheat on us while at the back door they shook hands and dine together but in the open they make us see them as enemies, now if he realize this problem and put an end to it, Next is the judiciary and armed forces, if they judiciary can be cleaned with the arm forces and they will do their work as they should do it, then corruption will be a thing of the past cause if you are caught giving or taking bribes and you will be arrested and prosecuted and sentenced to prison with all assets seized you will see that corruption will die a natural death.

For example, in the case of otedola and farouk, if they both were arrested and jailed for giving and taking bribe you will see that government officials will have a rethink on corruption. (Unless SSS can proof that they gave otedolla the money he claimed is marked then he can go scot free) but in this case.

The People are blinded folded with tribalism been promoted by the leaders.

The Judiciary is as corrupt as the Armed Forces coupled with the thief's in the house of rep and senates, Don't you see that there is no hope for this country? unless God intervenes.
Bros, there is hope, i believe so much that there is hope. there light at the end of d tunnel. If me and You play our part, it will reduce drastically.

speedyboi: Until we realise; today was once yesterday's tomorrow.
Until we realise our leaders were once youths.
Until we realise leaders were once followers
Until we realise that pushing blame to leaders will only make the cycle continue.
Until we realise change can only begin from the new breed not the other way round.
Until we realise problems gets solved from the foundation and not the roofing sheets.
Until we realise we've always been our own problem.
Until we stop pushing blames.
Until we realise Jonathan doesn't go to the bank and by pass everyone to loot the country.

Inshort, everyone should do the right thing in their various positions and all is well smiley
Yes, bro, we have a part to play. most of us are not happy with the corrupt state of Nigeria.

duality: Fine. but don't just assume that only elected govt officials are corrupt. the funny thing is that, the non-elected govt officials engage in huge corruption with the justification that the elected ones are corrupt. This in turn, puts pressure on the elected officials to engage in their own massive corruption.(after all, how will; Pam secs and directors be looting the money under my watch as a commissioner. the commissioner joins the band.)

those days Guys in PHCN (genco and transysco) complain that those in disco were too corrupt some say, contract staff of disco, were building houses and buying cars; hence want to justify their corrupt intentions. the guys in disco in turn claimed guys in transysco and genco had more imprest that were mismanaged. what happened, PHCN became drowned in corruption from top to bottom. rather than PHCN purging themselves of their corruption, the simply blamed it on the elected politicians. and the cycle continues. this is a picture of the corruption cycle in Nigeria. Every one is blaming the other.

Corroption will only reduce in Nigeria when each individual Nigerian realize that he is part of the corrupt system and stop his own corrupt actions. No anti corroption bill, Police,EFCC ICPC or any individual leader can stop corruption except the individual Nigerian.
Duality! i like your contribution. Civil service was rated sometimes ago as the most corrupt sector, then PHCN, followed by Police.

gregtochi: Be the change You desire and stop pointing fingers when u are corrupt in ur own little way.
Bro, we Nigerians like pointing fingers at others. Our leaders will always tell you corruption was caused by the past leaders, every leader will tell you that. in our offices, at home, in the street even in our mind, we need to stop being corrupt first and our household.

If u kill all these people, what about ur boss in d office that is corrupt, wat about d policeman, Road safety officers, bankers, d state governors? even if u eliminate all Nigerians, that wont end corruption, there are still more things to do, its all about our mindsets. from the young to the old.

armadeo: Nigerians by nuture are corrupt and indisciplined that is Y they resist any form of orderliness. Take the nepa staff for example who refused biometric data capture because of the ability to manipulate paper data. Take the police, pension board, any board, traffic offcials ur office peeps and the likes everybody is out to make a fast buck and these fast buck chasers are the same peeps who become leaders tomorrow then they look for the mega fast buck.
My point corruption has been made part and parcel of the nigerian mentality.

Pay tax u dodge pay 4 vehicle papers u dodge pay customs na bush/ river route, pay for luggage @ the airport u find someone else to carry it, every single thing in this nation is done sharply hence corruption dey kampe.

What we need is a visionary leader who will take us not where we want to be but where we ought to be. One who is ready to crush toes of friends and foes.
Are you talking of Idiagbon and the likes.
