SOUTH SOUTH: WILL NIGERIANS EVER HAVE A PRESIDENT IN SUIT?WILL US OR UK EVER HAVE A PRESIDENT IN 'AGBADA'? |
Mobile police officers engaged soldiers in a gun duel in Dongoyaro area of Bauchi on Thursday morning. A witness said the police officers were at a checkpoint in Dogonyaro when some soldiers in a military pickup van approached and asked the police officers to make way for them to pass. The police officers reportedly declined resulting into arguments and fights with gunshots fired at random by the security officials. The spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, Hassan Mohammed, confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES in a telephone interview but asked for more time to get details of the incident. “It just happened now, I advice you call back later because we are in a meeting with some officials to know what happened exactly, and those that were involved,” Mr. Mohammed said Source: http://premiumtimesng.com/news/121388-breaking-news-soldiers-mobile-police-in-gun-duel-in-bauchi.html |
Reports in French media indicate that the seven French hostages believed to be held by the Boko Haram have been released. France 24 quotes the French minister for veterans as saying the hostages were released in Nigeria. They were reportedly released in a village called Lamida Dikwa. Cameroonian authorities however denied the hostages have been released. The seven tourists were kidnapped in Northern Cameroon but believed to have been transported to Nigeria on motorcycles. Nigerian officials are yet to make any statement on the release. Frank Mba, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force could not be reached as he did not pick or return calls made to his phone. WITH Mario Balotelli returning to Italy, English football is lacking something... a good training ground ruck. Now at AC Milan, Balotelli was famous for his bust-ups with Manchester City team-mates and his manager Roberto Mancini. So with few Mad Mario moments now, we’ve tracked down this scrap between team-mates at Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine. Nigerian striker Frank Temile, 22, and team-mate Dmitry Korkishko were involved in almighty punch-up before other players piled in to split them up. The ugly scenes are enough to leave English football fans pining for Balotelli's crazy antics. oluwadare26: Burkina Babes they would defeats us...Nigerians said M BA Not on a SUNDAYThe last time we lost to Ivory coast in the final, we wore white |
Immediately after we qualified for the Final match, i started praying the the Super eagles should put on Green and not white (since the Burkinababes are also wearing white). It has been a believe that anytime the super eagles put on the white jersey, they loose most of the matches but not the same case with the Green jersey. Couples with out matches against Ivory coast, Mali and this final match (remember we used white in out first 2 matches at the beginning of this tournament). Do you guys actually believe that the Green jersey do bring luck to the super eagles? |
God bless you Dr Uzor Kalu, your prophesy came to pass |
God dey our side. Go super eagles go |

The Chelsea midfielder was substituted in the match against Mali as team doctors look to get him ready for the championship game on Sunday EXCLUSIVE Nigeria are hoping that Victor Moses will be fit enough to play in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations against Burkina Faso on Sunday. The Chelsea forward was substituted in the second half of the semi final against Mali in Wednesday’s 4-1 win after pulling up with an injury to his ankle. Moses created Nigeria’s first goal through a cross that was headed home by left back Elderson Echiejile. The 22 year-old has played an influential part in the team’s progress throughout the competition and he will be sorely needed in their final encounter against the Stallions in Sunday’s game at Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium. Team media officer Ben Alaiya told Goal.com about the situation of the forward: “The doctors are working on him and he should be fit to play on Sunday.” Moses missed the Super Eagles’ opening game of the tournament against Burkina Faso which ended 1-1. Apart from him, the Super Eagles do not have any injury worries after their semi final game. http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4687/2013-africa-cup-of-nations/2013/02/07/3733229/victor-moses-should-be-fit-for-final-against-burkina-faso?source=breakingnews&ICID=HP_BN_1 |
He was aged 11 yrs at the time this sad incident took place. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death, what a sad end. The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again. He was taken to London by his Uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds. This player played for England's under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea. This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES. His story is a touching one, I share his pains. I also share his courage. He had a choice not to step into Nigeria again but he didn't take that option. When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria... That is patriotism! Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent's death... That is Love! On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn't defend his parents... That is faith! Moses would try to deliver the "African Cup of Nations" trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past... That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage. He never gave up on his country. He persevered... That is purpose! Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we?.. |
1. "I meet the requirements for the position." Hundreds of candidates will meet the requirements for the position. That's not enough to get you a second look. You want to explain why you're an excellent candidate, not just an adequate one. 2. "I'm hard-working and a great communicator." And probably a team player and an independent self-starter, too. These are cliches that cause hiring managers' eyes to glaze over. Worse, they don't convey anything of substance--the fact that you've assessed yourself as these things will hold no weight whatsoever with employers, who prefer to assess these things for themselves. 3. "I'm a visionary leader." But not very humble, apparently. If you're truly a visionary leader--or a master communicator, or whatever other brag you're tempted to make--it should be evident from the accomplishments you've listed on your resume. Proclaiming this about yourself comes across as, well, weird. 4. "You won't find a candidate better qualified than me." Unless you've seen the rest of the candidate pool, you have no way of knowing that. This comes off as needlessly cocky hyperbole--and it's generally inaccurate, to boot. If you're really stunningly qualified, the hiring manager should be able to spot that on her own. Simply proclaiming it, especially when you have no basis to know if it's true, doesn't reflect well on you. 5. "Dear sir or madam." In most industries, this will come across as an antiquated, stuffy salutation. If you know the hiring manager's name, use that instead, but if not, simply writing "dear hiring manager" is fine, and won't make you appear as if you come from an earlier century. 6. "I'll call you in a week to schedule an interview." Job seekers can't unilaterally decide to schedule an interview, and inappropriately pushy to pretend otherwise. Some people believe that asserting themselves like this will demonstrate persistence and good salesmanship, but in reality, it just annoys hiring managers. 7. "I'm willing to work for below the salary you're offering." Candidates who write this generally are hoping that it will get them an interview when their qualifications alone wouldn't have. But it doesn't work, because hiring managers want to hire the best person for the job, have budgeted a certain amount for the position, and aren't going to take a weaker candidate just because she offers to work for less than the budgeted salary. 8. "I've attached my college transcripts, a list of references, a 15-page writing sample, and my last performance review." Unless the job posting specifically asked for these items, don't include them. At this stage, employers just want a resume and a cover letter. Don't overwhelm them with items they haven't asked for and might not want. Wait until you've progressed further in the process, and then ASK if they'd like these items. 9. "Please contact me if you'd like to see my resume." Job seekers occasionally send a letter of interest in a job without including a resume, to the great mystification of hiring managers everywhere. If you're writing to a company about potential work, you must include your resume. It's the first thing an employer will want to see, and they have no way of knowing if you're someone they'd like to speak further with without first seeing that. 10. "I really need a job. I'm desperate." Hiring managers might feel sympathy for you if you're desperate, but that's not going to make them hire you. Your cover letter needs to focus on why you'd excel at the job you're applying for, not how badly you need it. source: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/10-phrases-dont-belong-cover-144251632.html |
1) No password protection. If you could “lock” your wallet, wouldn’t you? Well, why don’t more folks lock their iPhone or Android phone? While it is nowhere CLOSE to being foolproof, a phone password works like the theory of the burglar and the dog: If you take that extra step to protect yourself, most bad guys will simply move on to the next (easier) target. It’s a lot easier for a thief to steal a smartphone with no password than it is to work on cracking your phone. 2) Shop online with an Internet browser instead of a shopping app. If you have the choice between shopping at Amazon.com using your phone’s browser versus Amazon’s app, use the app! Ditto for eBay, Overstock, and any big retailer that gives you the option of using their app. Unlike browsers, dedicated shopping apps are designed to ward off phishing and other kinds of scams. (Before you download it, just make sure it’s really their official app!) 3) Remain logged into banking, PayPal, eBay, and other sensitive apps. Would you keep your Macy’s credit card, Wells Fargo debit card or AmEx on top of your desk at work? How about the front seat of your car? I think not. Then why would you keep your phone permanently logged into those same accounts? When you finish banking or shopping, make sure to log out. And NEVER click the box asking the app to save your user ID or password. Yes, it’s a pain in the butt to log in every time. We all tend to value convenience over security. But if a thief gets a hold of a phone that is already logged into sensitive accounts — especially if that phone has no password — it could spell financial disaster. And remember, turning off your devices every now and then can be a good idea. 4) Automatically connect to any available WiFi connections. Whether you are using your laptop, tablet or smartphone, switch off the feature that connects to nearby WiFi networks automatically. Otherwise, hackers with the right software can easily hack your phone, as security experts have warned us for more than a decade. 5) Leave Bluetooth connections open. Bluejacking, Bluesnarfing, Bluebugging. These are all words that describe a hacker exploiting the open Bluetooth connection on your phone. While this type of hack requires the intruder to be relatively close to you (less than 30 feet away), the intrusion can occur undetected in a busy airport, hotel lobby, restaurant, or at a conference. 6) Fail to properly purge data from old smartphones. This is a very common mistake. Many people fail to remove sensitive, personal data from their smartphone before taking it out of service, donating it or selling it. Short of physically shredding your device (which is the only surefire way to delete all your data in an irretrievable manner). Deleting data before getting rid of your phone is simple common sense. 7) Download “free” apps that aren’t actually free. Some Apps that call themselves “free” are actually little more than thinly-disguised data thieves. Downloading one gives the app complete access to your phone, which a fraudster can use to steal your credit card and bank account info. Such apps also can turn your phone into a launch pad from which scammers can attack other peoples’ phones with SMS texts and Smishing scams. Be smart and discreet about what you download. Read reviews first, and make sure the apps you download come from reputable sources. Storing sensitive data on phones. Many people store passwords, pins, Social Security numbers, credit card or bank account information on smartphones. It may be a document created expressly for this purpose, or it could be an email they themselves from their computers. On a phone, emails and downloaded documents are especially easy for thieves to find and steal, especially if the phone is not password protected. Some people even label the document or email “passwords,” making them especially easy prey for hackers and scammers. Make sure to delete all documents and emails containing sensitive information from your phone. 9) Failing to clear browser history. Not clearing the browser history on your phone can be just as dangerous as staying logged into the website of your bank or your favorite store (see mistake #3). By retracing your steps, a phone thief can use your history to hijack your accounts, steal your money and wreck havoc. 10) No remote wiping software. Various apps and services enable you to locate your phone, and also wipe its data clean, if it’s lost or stolen. Tech-savvy hackers may be able to disengage these applications, but it’s just one more layer of protection you can use to reduce your risks if you ever lose your phone. |
Long before the first ball was kicked in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations quarter final match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephants of Ivory Coast, many had written off the Eagles and given the tie to the Ivorians. At the sports ministry and even the Nigeria Football Federation, there were lots of undercurrents that pointed to drastic measures that may have culminated in the sack of the Super Eagles technical crew, headed by Coach Stephen Keshi. The degree of doubt in the team and the technical crew by officials reached a crescendo soon after the team’s final group match against Ethiopia in Nelspruit, when it was openly suggested that a foreign coach would be sought to replace Keshi, once the team made its expected early exit from the tournament. Although the spokesman for the NFF, Chief Emeka Inyamah made a public denial over the search for a foreign coach, he did not dismiss its possibility. Addressing the press after the Ethiopia match, Inyamah said, “that to me is a distraction. Rather, we will come together at the end of the tournament to review everything. If he is worthy to continue, he will continue and if we think that there is need to bring in a white or black man to assist, then we bring one.” But events that transpired after that press conference pointed to the fact that the NFF did not believe the Coach Stephen Keshi team could beat Ivory Coast. NFF officials would not have been taken by surprise if the Super Eagles had crashed against the Elephants on Sunday. Sports Vanguard gathered in Abuja that the football house had already booked for the team’s return flight to Nigeria soon after the match. A source told Sports Vanguard that all the money relating to the flight arrangements had been concluded Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/02/incredible-nff-booked-eagles-return-tickets-before-qfinal-match/ |
