Okealaaye: Tinubu is a beloved of God. Whoever God loves is incomparably excellent. Boys like Peter Obi and his maddening mob are way outside this circle of favour. God hates pretence. How could anyone have thought that He would prefer a Third Class graduate of philosophy who once vowed upon the incident of death if he ever left the party of his fathers? A container trader who was verbally cautioned by his acolytes to desist from citations about China, Indonesia and even Egypt economic growth and development that's rooted in equivocation and falsehood and lies. God so loves Nigerians that He so graciously gave us The Global Jagaban at this momentous time in the life of our nation. Otherwise, upstarts and chest beaters would have held sway by now, from Umuokpara to Arochukwu, stalking the land like the clay-footed God that the Long Juju is. SHAKY SHAKY DADDY |

Politics › Re: FOREX Challenge Driving Petrol Price Towards N581 Per Litre by figment232(m): 9:42pm On Jun 27, 2023 |
nairalanda1: Refineries are not functioning because years of forcing them to sell fuel at a loss, and paying subsides that do not adequately cover the loss plus the massive corruption and sabotage engineered to get more and more government money stolen....
No subsidy means they work at a profit, and thus they have money to fix up things.
And right now,NNPCL is feverishly fixing up their refineries. The project has been abandoned |
Politics › Re: FOREX Challenge Driving Petrol Price Towards N581 Per Litre by figment232(m): 9:40pm On Jun 27, 2023 |
nairalanda1: So, Buhari and tinubu were right in 2012, then?
And I thought you were a GEJ supporter...lol.
On a serious note, GEJ wanted to remove subsides because in 2011, our subsidy cost was thrice what it was in 2010. Anyone could see that if it was allowed to grow, we would end up with the thing eating all our revenues, and loaned money.
It is the same issue now. We have spent three quarters of what we spent last year on subsidy already.....maintain subsidy for six months. That's why Obi, and Atiku and Tinubu all agreed subsidy had to go, as did every other candidate, except for Sowore of the AA.
GEJ also removed subsides on kerosene and diesel. If he had not, and the things had been maintained, we probably would be spending far more than we earned on subsidy alone....and we would be like Sri Lanka by now. With the IMF refusing to fund our addiction.
A revolution does not change the fact. (though it would be good to see apc thrown out) Leave GEJ out of this focus on TINUBU |

grandstar: He was the one that started subsidizing the Naira through his his rigid and strong Naira policy founded on his "I don't believe in devaluation" which promptly ran the economy aground.
He could have removed the petrol subsidy as early as January 2016.
Buhari seems displeased that praise did not come his way for implementing some tough reforms the way it has for Tinubu. What a pity! Tough decisions that we are suffering from...........u guys are so brainless these AGBADONIANS |

Ikaeniyan0: You read it and didn't see where it is predicted Naira will eventually fall back between #500-#600 in few weeks time? The Naira has been on the downward trend in both the official market and parallel market, since the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN announced, “Operational Changes to the Foreign Exchange Market,” including elimination of multiple exchange rates/segments and re-introduction of willing seller, willing buyer model in the I&E window. |
