well there has been this debate that the choir leadership has always been males in many churches and that that little prominence are given to females leadership in the choir ministry even if it seems to be the females who do the singing more

although both sexes got their pro's and con's should any of them be leader

as for the male there have often been issues of affairs between choir masters and female chorister of same choir group.
this could be initiated by the choir master himself or seduction from the female choir member

this act has cause disrespect for the choir master from the choir and also disunity and discontent due among the members

it has also lower the moral stand point of the choir standard and other values attached to the choir ministry where by the mistress of the master controls the activities of the choir indirectly in most cases .

Although choir mistress may nor be prone to such vice at least maybe not on the high side as the male ..it equally has it own shortcomings

the choir mistress may not be perceived to be authoritative enough except in some exceptional cases

she could be seen as just a figure head by most choir members except she is known for strict morals and discipline

choir mistress may not be open to seductions as do males but her sense of leadership power maybe challenged
