Nigeria farmer cannot sell their rice to any country other than Nigeria. The reason is very clear.

The rice is the most dirty and of low quality and as well the most expensive.

I repeat no country needs Nigeria rice. So we should all die because we want to grow our farmer who are only 1%. It's just like saying removing the Subsidy because it's only favor few people.
Why is the rice farmer the same.

Rice is like Pms. Anything affect it price will affect other food. Rice is the staples food in Nigeria.

Before Nigeria started producing rice in large scale a few years ago, we were spending over $2 billion dollars a year importing rice.

If the last administration had not banned import and encouraged local production, we would probably be spending $3 - $3.5 billion now. And the amount would have continued to increase every year.

Now, we are able to produce a lot of rice, with tens of thousands of farmers gainfully employed and hundreds of billions invested by large corporations too.

Besides the above benefits, producing our own rice means we are less dependent on other countries and it improves our food security.

Now. do you prefer that we throw all these away, send $3.5 billion to Thailand to keep their own farmers employed (while ours lose their jobs) and also strengthen their economy while destroying our currency just so we can buy a bag of rice for may be N30, 000? In any case, if we go by experience, once the importers destroy local production with initial cheaper price, they will soon increase their price to the same N40k or more. What will you do then.

And every month the whole country will be monitoring the news to check whether the ship from Thailand is on its way to Apapa, or the country goes hungry.

Do you really prefer that?

Governing a country is far more complex than some of the simple solutions that we are so sure will work.

how have we fair since the closing of border? Are we better of or things have worst off? How much was dollar 8 years ago and how much it is now?

Besides that figure is laughable. No way we would have spent that. Wether you like it or not there is till imported rice. The local rice was only for the poor. Something was wrong with the policies of the last administration.

NNPCL Boss Mele Kolo Kyari OFR is fixing Fuel price anyway as he likes. And every other marketer follows.

The NNPCL pricing is now the template for other marketer, he has been increasing the fuel price and defending and determine dangote selling price that is yet to come on stream. From his projections severally was that dangote will not sell for lower price to what they are already selling to Nigerians and his reasons and claim is unthinkable. Comparing imported commodity to local commodity.

I think government should subsidized the tools for convertion of CNG to Nigerians so that many people can convert to CNG especially the commencial operators.

My worried is that anything that goes up never come down in this country. A bag of local rice which no body wanted went up from 4-5k to 40k. A local quality for that matter. After the ban of foreign rice of 8k within 8years.

This same thing will likely happen to locally produced fuel when dangote come on stream is there is a ban on import fuel or other items.

Rice and Garri are the appex food commodity that influence the price of other food commodity because they are the first choice. Anything that affect their pricing will affect other food.

My suggestion. In Other to bring the price of rice down. Remove the restrictions from the imported rice. And watch as the local rice price crashed.

When the price of rice crash other food will follow as people move to eating rice.

The same thing will happen to fuel when people move to CNG.

It was the price of kerosene that Push all Nigerians to using LPG. Today all House hold don't make use of kerosene with cooking anymore. Since gas is cheaper.

You should off your engine while on a queue of course, do you need to be told that this time of high cost of PMS, you have to off ur engine if stationary in one spot for more than 1min.

Men the queue today was not funny as all the filing stations in town shut down. After NNPC increases their price. I spent over 30mins on queue before I know what happening my fuel gauge is down. Imagine burning fuel to buy fuel. To Off the car and start all over again on the line that is not moving well doesn’t make any sense. Shifting the gear from P to D. And restarting will cause more wear on the car.

I bought 10k fuel and the gauge didn’t go up that much as I expected. Around 15 litters or so.

Men with the way things are going. It look like person will need 1.2L Engine oh.

With the economy and declining buying power.

Many businesses fold up during the last administration including that of mine. There is already focas and prophecy that the current administration will be worst off than the previous. And with the start of this administration everyone can see that tinubu is already towing that path.

I have scanned around and discovered that only food and commodity business can survive this trying time. I have been confused to which food is best to avoid bad investment. I find yam interesting but due to it fragile nature as they easily get rotten.

Another one is rice. Bags of rice stay longer but it only sell during December. As currently many households cannot afford a bag of rice.

In My place tans Amadi pot harcourt, this food goes up to N800 naira . fish 500, rice 200 why beans 100 naira.

enugu that fish is 400-500. That price is the same as 800 here.

Nigerians should be enlightened enough to know that at this time of the year power supply always appears to be better which is primarily due to the climate. The rainy season lowers the air temperature and so people use their air conditioners and refrigerators less which are the main power blocks in any typical dwelling or office space.

When it was obvious i needed a vehicle to move from point A to B, I bought a toyota corona/avensis, car came with 2.0 3SFE engine. Kazeem spoilt it while changing head gasket so i have less to lose. so while racing on kd road, i killed the engine racing a more powerful car than mine.

Sourced for a good 3SFE but couldnt get a direct one for that year.. Had to be more adventurous, i installed a 5SFE with a 5S ECU. I took my time to match the wiring harness of a 3S to a 5S engine and ECU

New engine runs poorly, low Mile per gallon due to defective MAP sensor and sludge in the engine. Change the MAP sensor.

To clean the sludge, I bought 2 liter of KEROSENE removed 1ltr of engine oil from the engine.

Poured the kerosene in the engine and run it for 10min.

Removed the whole oil and changed the filter. put in new oil and new filter, Then for safety reason to avoid leaking seals due to kerosene (from childhood i know the effect of kerosene on rubber) i put some oil treatment.

Bought new PCv (positive crank case ventilator/valve and installed) To help vent the crankcase and prevent sludge buildup.


Engine runs fine, smooth and its fuel efficient. I get close to 700km on a single tank of fuel right now.

Currently if I have the means to live in cleaner clim than Nigeria without needing to sweat or work too hard. I will not even look back.

I'm AA and sick malaria very week. Despite the money I keep spending to keep them away.

The only thing now is that malaria hardly broke me down this days. It only give me the symptoms. As I am typing this I took malaria drugs 3 hours ago.

To reduce your chance of getting malaria inside you house. You know those big colored camphor. Scatter them all tight corners the house where mosquito will likely hide and in particularly the widows that's their main entrance. Although it doesn't come cheap that camphor this day is so expensive. But mosquito will stay away from your house. But you can still get malaria outside the house.

So in all. I will advise you leave this country. Because I will do the same if I have my way.
