Lol, epics. Schools and entertainment is among the list you don't forces people where to participate. several Africa countries have tried to place ban/restrict to foreign/Nigeria music to encourage their local content but it never worked. go and find out both south Africa and Ghana even in some states in Nigeria they do this. but yet it never work. entertainment markets is earned by creativity not forced.

Most of the music super stars shoots their video in South Africa simply because of better infrastructures. We should be discussing these and not condemn the proposal.
there is nothing to discussed. Nigeria is shit hole. this matter has been in the floor of the house of assembly before during Jonathan.( is like you were born yesterday). about shooting video abroad. some honorable member already investigated the issues and invited some top nollywood on the matter when they were shooting firms in ghana. the house later drop down the bill. entertainment is creativity not amala and ewadu

Again you are talking from the surface. Since the era of Dr Adesina during GEJ government, banning of agricultural products that we can grow locally has led to increase in local production of cassava, rice, soya beans, yam and othere farm proute. It simply means more people are going back to farm including myself (not ful time thougj) this is commendable. We can do same in the entertainment. It does not mean there will be an immediate ban, but a policy statement that will see at least 70% production content coming from locals over time, the discussions should be how to achieve that not that of condemnation. Unfortunately those who should know have joined the badwagoon, the likes of PSQUARE.
As far as I am concerned the most important challenge facing Nigeria today is youth unemployment
the local video production already covers 70% how many artist they shoot video abroad?? if those countries forced their people from listening Nigerian music what will the government do?
Politics › Ask Gaddifa If U Think Nigeria Is Sovereign & No Referendum In Constitution by fineboynl(op):
i pity those who think Nigeria is sovereign and no referendum in constitution and its sealed finally. by the time it happens we will know if Gaddafi powers was sovereign at some point in time, Gaddafi was Bruce out when the real owner of the country came together constitution or no constitution. the only problem of south east they don't know how to lobby world power and diplomatic starting from ojukwu. when things thickening and much pressure is mouthed it wont take the legislature weeks to amend the constitution to Grant referendum.

if the military keep on killing ipob they will faced sanctions until they go for referendum

For asking them to shoot their productions locally? Please let's get a life. In another way we are also complaining of no work for our youth. Unfortunately it's the youth that have most criticised the proposed policy.
What I had expected are contributions from the youth on how the policy could be best implemented without causing damages to the industry. For me I support this initiative, it will create more jobs. A time frame should be given for the provision of infrastructures for production which amount to fresh business opportunity.
government shouldn't interfere or control entertainment industry. entertainment is on it own you don't forced it. people liked Nigeria music across the globe because of those video shooting there to promote it. going local will killed and buried it here. the almighty one dance by Drake was shoot in south Africa. rick ross also shoot video here. so it is international thing. stop this creating job by force. no job is going to be created by force otherwise you kill everything. how many job have they created since they ban rice? since they ban importing here and there how many job have they created? encourage people to do things instead and once they do it and it doesn't work out for them then it means nothing you can do instead of outright forced ban which will ruined everything.
Politics › Islamic Jihadist Want To Kill Nollywood Entertainment. by fineboynl(op): 2:28am On Jul 18, 2017
it's no longer news there is motive to kill Nigeria westernized art for Islamist movement. Nigeria entertainment is no longer a Nigeria thing only, but international like the USA. the only market Nigeria music has not touch is the USA due to the fact that they are heavy weights in music. and some of them are already using Nigeria influenced song to enter Europe and international market to promote themselves or album as we have seen from Drake and kenya West.

you cannot ban Nigeria art from shooting video outside except you want to kill it, nollywood never got anything from government to get to this height. the only thing the government can do is to tell them to try to shoot some and encourage local moving not saying you are banning it.

we all knows that Nigeria don't have the capacity to shoot BBN in Nigeria let not shy away. we are not just there yet.

i have made conclusion that this is a jihad movement to islamized Nigeria by killing nollywood.

Celebrities › Back From The Dead Ernest Asuzu Says: Nollywood Is Evil! Stroke Victim by fineboynl(op): 7:33pm On Jul 16, 2017

Popular actor, Ernest Asuzu, who suffered stroke a few years ago, is back on the block. However, he has now found a new role. It’s to change people’s perception about Nollywood by bringing God back to the industry.

In an interview with TS Weekend, Asuzu, a born-again Christian, reveals why he feels that Nollywood is evil. He also talks about other issues.

Many people want to know what you’ve been doing since you recovered from your health challenge?

I have returned to Nollywood, my first love. But I want God to help me re-establish myself as a good Christian in Nollywood. After the first outing, which I considered a success by worldly standard, I went down with stroke. Before I took ill, I was living large, outgoing and flamboyant; but now I have returned to God and I want to change people’s thinking about actors in Nollywood, because a lot of actors are dying without knowing God. I want to introduce God to Nollywood so that they will know that there’s nothing they can do without God. Look at me now I have a Jeep. If anybody had told me when I was down with stroke that I’d ride a Jeep, I would not believe. But a man of God in Warri, Delta State blessed me with the car, that’s the car I brought to church today. Isn’t that marvelous? God saw my pain and faith in Him and intervened. The thing that happened to me wasn’t my making; a man got jealous of my rising profile and inflicted me with stroke. I don’t want to emphasise on that. Let God judge the man. I’m glad because I’m not dead yet, when you are dead, that’s when you are gone. Now that I’m alive and back on my feet, it’s the Lord’s doing. I am alive by the intervention of God so I want everyone to know that I’ve given my life to God and my movie life is running and thriving.

Now that you’re back to Nollywood, what impact do you really want to make?

What I’m bringing back to Nollywood is concrete change. This is not a political slogan. What I want is for everyone in Nollywood to be God-fearing. I want the industry to know God because I’m a testimony. A lot of practitioners believe in charms, juju and evil, but when you know God, you will know it all and will not have room for doubt and unbelief. I want to bring God back to Nollywood, that’s what I want to accomplish this year.

How do you want to achieve this since you aren’t a pastor?

I am not a pastor, but I intend to be a pastor, to preach the gospel. I know it is not easy to be a pastor but I tell you if God calls me, I will answer. I will either be a pastor or prophet. But I am begging them to leave evil alone. Evil does not pay anybody. They inflicted me with stroke but I did not feel I had stroke for one day. So, if God chooses me as his vessel, I will say ‘Here am I, send me’. I want Nollywood to get closer to God because the time we are now is evil.

If God calls you what message will you preach?

Love. I will tell people that God is love and that love conquers all. I will harp on love, agape love; that is unconditional love. God created this world out of love and out of love he gave His son. For God so loved the world that he created everything therein, so I will preach the message of love.

You are sounding as if you are angry with the Nollywood family?

I’m not angry but I don’t like the way they treat human beings. What I don’t like about the practitioners is their heavy dependence and trust in charms. They should leave charms alone and turn to God, the ultimate for solution to all their challenges.

You think if they embrace God things will be well?

Yes, certainly!

As you are into music, are you also preaching the gospel through music?

What I’m doing is to use music as a channel to communicate my new found passion, which when all has been said, prepares you for a better life here and beyond. Salvation is not negotiable, and for me, it is a gift that Christians in Nollywood must accept as a plank to eternal life.

Is this your new belief also based on your recent robbery experience?

When I keep talking about the mercies of God, you may not understand. The robbery attack occurred around the premises of a transport company in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos when I went there for a meeting. As I waited for my friend, in my car, two young men drove up to me on a motorbike and stopped by the car. One of them walked casually towards me and brought out a gun. He asked for money and my handset. Before I knew what was happening, he had collected every valuable thing from me. He looked at me and recognised me, he then asked: ‘Are you not a Nollywood actor?’ I answered ‘yes, I am’. He turned, jumped onto the bike and zoomed off.

Politics › Traditional Media Vs. Social Media Advertising by fineboynl(op): 2:32pm On Jul 16, 2017
Traditional Media vs. Social Media Advertising
Selecting the best advertising mediums for your company can be challenging. There are so many options available today, such as print, radio, television commercials, and the Internet.
How do you select the best advertising mix for your business?

Traditional media has created exposure for thousands of businesses for decades. With the Internet, you can take advantage of social media, content marketing, and search engine marketing.
There are many benefits of social media that indicate how social media is more effective than traditional media. These benefits include the ability to communicate with your consumers in a two-way format, developing a long-term following, and being able to quickly promote new products and services.

However, there is one defining metric that defines the better option between traditional media and social media. This metric is cost per thousand impressions (CPM) .

CPM is an advertising metric that measures how many advertising dollars you must spend to reach 1,000 people. The goal of any advertising should be to reach as many relevant people as possible at the lowest cost.

In a recent cross channel media costs comparison , the CPM of various media channels were measured. The results were interesting. Take a look below.

https://www.lyfemarketing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Social-Media-Chart.png

Social media is cheaper than any form of advertising available today. It is one of the only forms of media that can expose you to over 1,000 people for less than $3.

In addition, you can incorporate traditional elements into your social media campaign. You can advertise video commercials, publish articles, host live podcasts and webinars, and much more. Social media is the only “billboard” that can communicate to your customers, answer their questions, and provide them with feedback.

Hidden Costs

There additional costs associated with each medium. Obviously, with direct mail you have to consider print and mailing costs. With TV and radio, you have to consider the spike in prices during peaks times to advertise (rush hour traffic or popular shows). Billboard prices can also range based on quality of traffic and location.
With social media marketing, you only have one “hidden” fixed cost – time. Whether it is your time, an employee’s time , or an agency’s time, you must consider this as a cost. However, this is normally not a cost that depends on so many variables such as traditional media.

While there are many ways of proving that social media is more effective than traditional media, cost is the factor that anyone can agree upon. The ability to track results, laser-target your exact audience, and use data to guide your decisions are benefits you’ll read about in the next section.
