King Charles III's image on coins has been revealed for the first time.

The 50p coin is the first piece of new money that features the new monarch and will begin circulating in December.

The King’s portrait will first begin appearing on a special £5 Crown as well as on 50p coins that commemorate the Queen, MyLondon reports.

Nicola Howell, chief commercial officer at the Royal Mint said: "We expect customers will start to be able to receive the commemorative range from October and then we expect the 50p memorial circulating coin to be appearing in people’s change probably from December."

Martin Jennings sculptured the King's effigy which the Mint said has been personally approved by Charles.

Chris Barker from the Royal Mint Museum said: "Charles has followed that general tradition that we have in British coinage, going all the way back to Charles II actually, that the monarch faces in the opposite direction to their predecessor."

He described the portrait as: "Dignified and graceful, which reflects his years of service".

The Latin inscription surrounding the effigy reads: "• CHARLES III • D • G • REX • F • D • 5 POUNDS • 2022" which translates to: "King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith".

Anne Jessopp, chief executive officer of the Royal Mint, said: "The Royal Mint has been trusted to make coins bearing the monarch’s effigy for over 1,100 years and we are proud to continue this tradition into the reign of King Charles III.

"Although technology has progressed, we continue to honour British craftsmanship passed down through the centuries.

"Our team of skilled modellers, tool makers and engravers will ensure that the King’s effigy will be faithfully replicated onto millions of coins.

"Her Late Majesty ruled with heart and devotion for 70 years, and this memorial collection commemorates her remarkable legacy as Britain’s longest-serving monarch.

"To ensure everyone can hold a piece of history in their hand, the 50p will also enter circulation in the UK."

The other three victims who were brutally murdered alongside singer Chop Boii have been identified.

Chop Boii was at his producer's house alongside others, including the producer Beerollings, the producer's girlfriend Blessing, and a DJ named Gwezi, when they were attacked and killed.

Beerolling, the producer, was reportedly found with his head broken and his brain on the floor. The attack happened at his house where there is a mini studio.

His girlfriend Blessing, said to be a student of UNICROSS, was hacked to death. She reportedly had 5 cuts on her head when she was found. Her hand was also chopped off.

Gwezi, a Disk Jockey (DJ) was also murdered alongside the group. Friends say he was a gentle man who left home in search of greener pastures.

The killers are still at large.

A fight broke out today at Iyana-Iba in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The fight was reportedly between two rival NURTW groups.

Unconfirmed reports claim one person died in the fight.

Videos from the scene show young men holding stones and cutlasses as they approach their rivals.

Stones can be seen flying in every direction.

Uniformed policemen at the scene appeared to be outnumbered so they stayed away from the fighting group.

It was later claimed that calm has been restored to the area.

However, a resident going home from work told LIB that gunshots were still heard ringing out this evening.

One Twitter user caught up in the chaos wrote: "As dirty as iyana iba market is… I really didn’t mind today, I just wanted to save my dear life, I had to jump down from the bike. Those guys were really prepared."

A Russian man set himself ablaze to avoid being conscripted into the war with Ukraine.

The man went to the Ryazan bus station in the southeastern city of Ryazan and lit himself on fire on Monday, September 26.

This comes less than a week after President Vladimir Putin announced the "partial mobilization" of up to 300,000 reservists.

"At the Ryazan bus station, a man set himself on fire," Russian news outlet YA62 shared.

"He shouted that he did not want to participate in a special operation in Ukraine."

After the flames fizzled out, the man can be seen being escorted to an ambulance by police.

One eyewitness told YA62 that he escaped with minor injuries, while the magazine Novaya Gazeta wrote that he had burns on over 90 percent of his body.

Some Nigerian military paratroopers have been spotted carrying out a training in Abuja.

While some security operatives blocked a section of the road, others were spotted learning how to land with a parachute.

The aim of the training or what it is meant for is unclear at the time of filing this report.

A Facebook user, Jahrex has shared photos of Ezra popularly known as Dogo, who he claims to be the tallest man in Kaduna State.

According to him, Ezra took after his great grandfather, a 'giant who lived and protected the Kagoro land.'

"The Tallest Man In Kaduna From Kagoro Ezra ,Took Over The Gene Of His Great Grand Father Who Was A Giant And Also A Great Hunter And Protector Of The Kagoro People "Kwantagwan". Ezra popularly known as Dogo is the tallest man in southern Kaduna,it is said that he took after his great grandfather whose name is Kwatangwan," he wrote on Tuesday, September 27.

"We were able to gather that his great grandfather Kwatangwan lived For over 300 years and dug his grave by himself, he was a giant who lived and protected the Kagoro land.
