Psalmistproject: If there's any truth or credibility to this News and some people are happy, I weep for the country. The money the federal government are spending, where does it come from, you the poor masses. So if a few wealthy Igbo billionaires decides to lobby then the Nigerian state will dip hands into the common wealth of the nation to chase shadows? And some people are happy with it? Mind you it's merely the case as most of the money is returned back to the politicians pockets as kickbacks and just very small is actually given compared to what is on the paper. Either case another avenue to keep looting the entire country.
However I doubt if the assertion of this thread is even reasonable, considering there are countries that are enemies of the friends of the united states that can spend 10x their opposing lobbyists are spending but still US stays with the values it wants.
The US only acts according to its national interest, BIAFRA or Nigeria. If you don't spend, foreign governments will distablise your country, you will now spend far more than that.......politics and governance complex more than the way you see it. They asked Maduro to say Po, he said no, now he is saying popopo, and is too late. |

feelme3: Unless it's a different write up you are referring to, there's nowhere I read the man saying he was having issues with his papers. The only reference to immigration was "The union was said to have been plagued by migration challenges to the United Kingdom, financial difficulties and personal disagreements, with custody of their children becoming a central point of conflict." which is likely the family. Anyway, its not everyone who understands English properly and some cannot comprehend sentences, perhaps, the words used are too difficult to break down for them. Meanwhile, migration challenges also mean, having issues with his papers .

Kalulu44: The question here should be, is it all relationship that ended with quarrel and bitterness? I can confidently attend any of my ex's wedding without any bitterness and with joy and happiness for their occasion why bcus, I parted ways cordially and without rancour with 95% of them. You can't attend or won't invite an ex is bcus you guys broke up in a bad and bitter way. An ex has once linked me to a big contract that brought good pay for me, so you want to tell me I can't attend her wedding or she can't invite me. This thing varies, going to your ex wedding or inviting her to yours depends on how you guys broke up, shikena Keep it up oooo, make sure you are the one settling dispute between ur ex and her husband as well, and be paying her regular visits in her husband house and her working place, please once in awhile, you and her can go to occasions, wedding, burial, naming or whatevers. feelme3: If my wife took my young children from the UK to Nigeria without my consent, I would stop at nothing to regain custody. I would confront her and her family directly and pursue every legal and institutional option available.
Reading that he occasionally sent financial support, sometimes amounting to thousands of pounds and paid school fees, yet remained completely cut off from his children for over eight years, does not suggest genuine commitment or seriousness. What I expected to read was evidence of concrete action: how many times he travelled to Nigeria, the confrontations he had with his estranged wife, and the steps he took when access was denied. Simply saying, “she blocked every access I had to reach you,” is not sufficient.
Personally, I would have applied pressure relentlessly through legal action, law enforcement, and competent legal representation. Instead, it appears he remained in the UK and relied on family members and relatives to fight on his behalf. For eight years? That is difficult to justify. If he had made personal visits during that period, there would likely be records, timelines, or documented attempts showing his efforts and resistance faced.
Frankly, this was a weak attempt. At this point, the most realistic option may be to accept the loss and hope that, when the children are older and more mature, they might choose to reconnect.
Showing up in a confrontational, “Rambo-style” manner to disrupt their mother’s funeral was misplaced. If he truly wanted custody, that level of intensity should have been applied years earlier—at their school, their home, and through formal legal channels—when it actually mattered. Did you also read where the man said, he was having issues with his papers at that time? Which means he was battling with two issues at same time, which time he would have for all those detailing you are talking about oo? Not even wen the wife was powerful and rocking with high and mighty in the society then. |

She will now be seen herself in midst of high and mighty, before you know she will start romancing with such people. After all, at that time, with or without husband, she is self-sufficient.

The big problem is that no African man wants to be controlled by his wife, and the more successful a woman is, the more difficult to be submissive to her man. Ordinary accidentally famous bread seller, who got small money & fame unexpectedly, disposed her struggling husband within a year.
Besides, even fellow men would be ridiculing the husband, he is lazy and weak man and that, it's her wife that feeding him. |
