FMCASH:I wish him well....and i have no reason to force my counsel on him or anyone who sees no reason to pilot a new venture on a small scale cos the money is available.. I look forward to read his success stories in just four months time. |
https://www.nairaland.com/5894415/propose-catfish-farmers-association#90193368 Its interesting how we all want to explore catfish farming as a business. But how much does the business offers in returns.... Who benefits most in this business..... The fact remains catfish business is not regulated and until it does, only very few will last in the business. |
XiaoLi:I will take it from where @ waleyp stopped.... First, know that the goal of this thread is to assist catfish farmers in every areas possible to succeed either as a newbie or practicing farmer. And if you go through the pages at inception, the likes of Robonski and others have virtually contributed immensely. If anyone fails, frankly speaking, such should have himself/herself to blame. I say it raw as it is......if you have a consultant and he advised you to start your first adventure this big....something is wrong...... If you had read my post here, one striking thing is farmers calling for buyers..... *Do you have your own buyers? *What is the demand for catfish in Anambra? *How many farms are fully operational there? *What's the market size of catfish there? *Who are your competitors..... *What feed is your consultant recommending.. *Where would you get your feeds for and its cost implications... There are hundred and one questions your consultant should provide for you before we hear stories that touches and some failed inexperienced, acclaimed Ratfish farmer will come here again to spray nonsense Candid professional advise, irrespective of your consultant profile, let him manage a small scale first for you to the point of sales. The result will determine your next line of action. And their are ways to do such...... Wish you best of luck #AgroWealth |
OYENIYIJK:You have been rightly answerd by juell.... Its 16% per annum pro- rated. You will be lucky if the 16% is compounded but if simple, it isn't bad either. No bank in Nigeria not even Tbills non mutual funds can afford such monthly. If you run a business, you will understand the cost of running one in Nigeria. I'm sure every businesses will love to give something worth investor's capital, nonetheless, business owners must factor-in their gross profit vs net profit. You can visit our facebook page (agrohubcoop1) for our packages. |
Fish4wealth:The agric sector is full of all kinds of unqualified "professionals" who believes, the space needs no certification or minimum qualification to practice or start-off and agric enterprise/venture. It's time for the real professional farmers to bring about creative solutions. |
Fish4wealth:Desired change will never come if nothing is done about a failing system. Do not just see problems rather profer solutions. |
Fish4wealth:Keep the contacts coming...if you have sent us an email; help push this thread.....let's see this thread as our mission.... Thanks |
Weedsmoker:Obviously you can't seems to see clearly.....you can't differentiate between a professional fish farmer cum consultant as you have in medical profession and a catfish freelancer...... Spoil business for who....I've you read where i advertise sales of fingerlings here....my profile speaks for me than engaging you here cos it will be ridiculous to discover you're a nephew range. But like the saying" the elders will not fold their arms in public for the indomie generation to defile the good labour and infest others" Below is just one out of hundreds free trainings i organise.... Use your time productively.

@Ttalk, Excesiorfarm and other professsional colleaque. I salute your position. Honestly, I'm yet to understand the mission of this guys. I decided not to engage when i saw it was the same @weedsmoker that exported same ill feelings on this thread having reacted to his post on other thread on the same issue. So disappointing to now see a disciple claiming to have spent fruitless 20years yet coming up with wet feed formulation(poison) in an artificial ponds......garri, crayfish, etc....indeed, your practice is questionable. Relating farming(fish farming inclusive) to facebook microsoft shows so much ignorance here. Laughable enough is the scenario of pure water....against fish pond waste water....lol... If government provides the needed assistance that will help farmer to recycle their waster water using modern technologies, you would realise the potential of fish waste water in irrigation, bio-elements, etc. However, i will not blame the duo if they see catfish not profitable cos the farmers have sold their wealth/sweat to the middle men and market women. Until the catfish farmers come together to profer an wholistic solutions to factors affecting the industry, the race will continue to be for the stronghearted. |

Check my thread on "Propose new catfish association" Newbies with respect to your catfish farming area of interest must understand that, the success of any commercial business largely depends on sales. Hope to cont' |
Thanks for showing interest. Emails acknowledged. I can't do this alone. Let's keep this thread visual to welcome many more catfish farmers. Thanks. |
As we look forward to a new month tomorrow, I'm glad to announce to as many catfish farmers who have lamented on various groups and platforms their ordeals in catfish farming. Major complaints arising from poor pricing and high cost of feeds. Sadly, catfish farmers only laments without any practicable solutions. Existing associations have not lived upto expectations with many farms closing down. Consequently, we have come up with our solutions but now inviting many others(real farmers) for brainstorming sessions online. NOTE: This is strictly for catfish farmers in Lagos and Ogun state. Do not bother to join if your farm is not within these two states. We hope to extend beyond once successful. We want to pioneer a new catfish farmers association all inclusive. To be part of this mission, simply send your phone contact and email to agrowealth001@gmail.com to receive a form that will provide us more information about you. This pre-registration will close Friday June 15,2020. The pre-registration will allow us to determine how many potential members and what best platform to adopt for our first meeting. This is a serious course with oughtmost decorum and we hope that potential members will see it same. Finally, do not send your info here as we are not going to be responsible for fraudulent emails in your inbox. Kindly keep sharing if you believe in this course. God bless Nigeria farmers. #AgroWealth |
As much as we have come to the realisation that it will become so hard for companies to employ and even pay employees as the case maybe in this covid era, investment becomes inevitable for those who have some cash to grow such cash. However, investors must be aware and answer few questions..... 1. What kind of viable business would you choose from... 2. What ROI and duration are you looking at If you can answer this genuinely, you are one step away from making the right decision. waleyp:Their shouldn't be a barrier to achieving success if you're determined. He/she needs not to look far to get customers to buy just a pack...i have few young passionate youths who started with #10k in 2018, today, it's a success story. In addition, starting is not about profit making but building a customer base. Their are initial sacrifices to make as startup. You will be surprise that within his/her neighborhood, the entire pack might just be bought. Finally at Op...do not have the mentality of staying at home to sell...marketing is critical. |
