Hello there and thanks for dropping by. Let’s quickly talk about timing and your diet as I’m sure you’ve heard that “When you eat could be as important as what you eat.” And you know what the meaning is when we say “Eat more in the day, less in the night.”
There are a couple of reasons why you need to reset your ‘meal clock’ to suit your body’s metabolism requirements as eating at bad times could be frustrating your weight loss efforts and could be planting the seed of discouragements in your mind.
Here are some few tips to help you get started with the timing of your meal and how it could aid your fitness routine.

Don’t skip breakfast:You’ve heard this a billion times and asides from other health and digestive system related issues, people who skip breakfast have been found to struggle with their weight loss routines, compared to those who don’t. But keep in mind that eating more calories at breakfast can trigger a calorie filled day.

Post Exercise Meal: Eating 30-45 minutes after exercise means less energy stored as fat, as your body uses the fresh supply to replenish the low glycogen level that has resulted from your exercise.

More Lunch, Less Dinner: Having a larger lunch isn’t only beneficial for energy conversion; it also reduces your cravings towards night time. Eat a good quantity of serving at lunch and a little less at dinner. This is because peak energy periods, circulating around 3PM, your digestive system can almost never go wrong. And the higher the quantity that comes with dinner, the more the complications that can come with it. Complications like constipation, heart burn, slow bowel movement and even sleeplessness. Hello there, nice to have you here. Now, I won’t take your time on this one. Reason is because time and time again most people tend to assume they fully understand the difference between stressing themselves and exercising themselves. “What more exercise do I need Zee?” “You mean I still need to exercise after spending the whole day at Oshodi (one of the busiest markets in Nigeria)?

Well, the thing is, if you must see any remarkable improvement in your body, you must know that your brain is a major team player that is actively involved in the whole process, hence, the difference between stress and exercise. You may be engaged in the same activities that would normally make up your exercise routine and still not lose a pound – that is coming from the brain, who knows the time when you are just busy to the time you’re busy exercising.
Stress can occur any time of the day but the best time sacrifices of exercises are fully acceptable by the gods of our brains is in the evening (not too late) and early in the morning. These periods have been known to be periods where the general brain concentration level is relatively high. These two mostly confused activities are in fact on far ends of the health scale and what that means is: while stress can break the body down, exercise can build the body up and even help to relieve stress. Anxiety, depression, sleep disorder and so on, can be corrected with exercises.

In conclusion, you can’t trick your brain on this one, Once an activity you engage in isn’t a selectively conscious one to stay healthy, your brain doesn’t register it as exercise. To pass the checklist, that activity must be one that doesn’t only shape your physical appearance, but also boosts your mental awareness.
So, please stop mixing and confusing your daily stress as a substitute for exercise.

Hi there, sorry (to the guys) about this post being a little gender bias but hey, you know you could learn a thing or two and inform your Wife, Girlfriend(s), Sister, Sugar mummies (Lol!), etc. The ‘Waist Trainer’ gripped the market so unexpectedly, I’m sure even the manufacturers probably weren’t expecting that much turn up. Celebrities, Working class peeps, Models, even stay at home mums were all about getting that hour-glass shape but just before you either pull off the waist trainer (to breathe) or before the next time you put them on, here are five things I think you should know about them.

1. It causes dehydration – According to research. People who exercise with their trainers on have been recorded to get dehydrated faster than those who don’t. Tightening around your core leads to increase in temperature which in turn leads to dehydration. Always stay hydrated, else you could become weak and faint.

2. It affects your back muscles – Since your back and abdominal muscles are not the only providing the support anymore, they tend to relax, and relax to an extent of danger in people who use corsets for long periods of time. To be honest, your back and abdominal muscles aren’t really friends with your waist trainer.

3. It affects breathing – Cramps, pinching and discomfort are what can happen when waist trainers are used for long periods or are too tight. The restriction and tightness around your waist and rib could give somewhat of choking effect, as mild as hardly noticed but accumulatively, your breathing can go from great to poor.

4. It can affect growth – Point blank, “Do not use a corset if you’re still developing some body parts. The growth of some organs can become stunted or abnormal when they are interfered with. If you must use your waist trainers, let it not be more than eight hours daily. As instructed from medical findings.

5. It can cause your organs to shift – Now, this is as serious as it sounds. According to a few Medical practitioners who have duly researched about Waist Trainers, The pressure on your abdomen can cause disorganization in the arrangements of your internal organs. Upper organs shift upwards, lower organs shift further downwards. The effect is that you become less tolerant to some foods and normal food portion becomes too much. Even so, you may start experiencing heart burns as your stomach shifts beyond your diaphragm resulting to Acid reflux.
I didn’t want to mention that it makes you lazier when trying to lose weight amongst a few other demertis it has on your ‘actual’ weigh loss scheme just so you won’t assume I’m pitching a battle between Corsets and Weight loss.
In all, Corsets are great invention with the ‘get-it-quick’ result but you just must know that it doesn’t come without its own side effects.

I’ve had a few clients ask me this question time and time again so I said I should do a little justice to settling it here. Before we go on, both treadmill running and actual running are great form of exercises that can have a big deal impact on your weight so don’t after reading this post abandon whichever one you were doing before. With that out of the way, let’s continue.
Is running on a treadmill and the calories burnt the same as running outside?
The first thing I’ll like to say is that it has been scientifically proven for treadmills and outdoor running to have the same body effect and it’s more a matter of preference but there are pros and cons to using a treadmill.
>> PACING: You can’t actually learn how to balance your pace at different soil topography on a treadmill. Allowing the belt rotate under you doesn’t give room for you to develop you pacing instincts. This can pose a little problem when you finally decide to go out.

>> MENTAL EFFECT: When you run outdoor, you go past sceneries; be it houses, parks, train stations, people hustling and bustling up and down. All these have a little psychological effect on you as your brain is more aware to the fact that you’re fully involved in the exercise.

>> MOTION: When on a treadmill, the basic motion you’re engaging in is ‘Up and Down” while in the case of outdoor running, you’re engaged in three different motion “Up, down, forward” with the third one being very important as you push yourself against wind resistance and some resistance from your own weight.

>> ADDICTION: Believe it or not, there are people who are so addicted to the treadmill, they won’t even take step outside even under the best conditions. The treadmill, like every other fitness equipment has a watchword to it – moderation. Try to use the treadmill as an alternative to outdoor running and not to eliminate outdoor running.

>> BOREDOM: Looking at it from those who’ve seen the mental impact, you won’t blame those who claim treadmills are really boring; especially those in work-out corners, where you lack the opportunity of exercising with a ‘work-out buddy’. Treadmills has indeed been tagged one of the most boring fitness equipments.
In all, treadmills are still really great but don’t become a treadmill junkie. If the conditions are right, use your outdoors double the time you use the treadmill weekly.
