As a SA, you come to a Nigerian football forum to argue

You didn't stop there, you accuse Nigerians of bragging on twitter.

IronGalaxy, yes, I am referring to you. You are currently doing the same thing you accused Nigerians of doing. You are constituting nuisance on this space

Your beloved SA isn't a footballing country, You're better off winning a big black butt Olympics or trendy tiktok dancing olympics.

GTFOH with your half-truths. How many footbll trophies does SA have? In all competitions, across all age-grades and gender?

Yet, you're arguing blindly and you dare rub shoulders with the Nigerian football pedigree

Maybe next time, we ought to send our women to play your beloved bafana bafana instead

Now, go and nurse your ouster by Cameroon in pieces!!!
Leave the tozo to be ranting foolishly. They come here to troll whenever Nigeria loses, but when the shoe is on the other foot and we put them to the sword, suddenly they want to be reasonable and start justifying their failures. People who can't take banter annoy me. You lost. Take your L, take the banter and stop trying to do damage control. grin

Saying Osimhen wasnt there is an excuse, when you have other "good" players, being robbed of a legitimate penalty and Egypt given a non-existent one are two very different things
How is acknowledging that Nigeria was missing their best striker an excuse? I'm giving context, just like refereeing decisions are context for South Africa.

The hypocrisy here is you claiming one form of context is valid while dismissing another as excuses.

Nigeria faced circumstances that impacted their WC qualifying performance.
According to you, your unripe Banana also faced circumstances that affected their AFCON campaign.

You can't selectively apply this logic based on which team you support, else you're just arguing from bias which renders anything you say on this topic moot.

Dont you find it hypocritical that a country which such tribali.sm obsess so much with what happens with South Africa and their so-called "xenophobia"?
This is a silly argument. Other people's shortcomings surely doesn't excuse your own.

Individuality doesn't make a team..and what's "likely" or whats not, its purely speculative
First of all, you'll notice I used a tentative expression.

Secondly, talent concentration matters a lot. Our diaspora in top European leagues gives us a higher ceiling when structure clicks.

You're right that individuals don't make teams, but quality individuals with proper organization beat lesser individuals with good organization. Every single time. We've seen it repeatedly in international football. Our potential upside is simply higher.

My brothers on Twitter mirror your tendencies, they are you to your own game.
Nobody goes around "bragging" like Nigerians, you and I know this... its a marker of your nationality
Playing dumb seems to be your specialty. I'll leave it at that. Good luck at the World Cup.

No, we don't do that.. South Africans arent wired like that.. bragging, shading, arrogance..is more Nigerian. We're simply responding to the constant putting down and belittling your people are fond of..
Unless you want to play dumb, maybe you should go look at your brothers on Twitter. Or better yet, get a mirror.

Bros stop arguing. In terms of African football SA has more pedegree than Mali

Mali wey never smell afcon trophy let alone qualifying for the World Cup na wey u take dey compare SA?

Haba!!
Oga I respectfully disagree with you. I respect Mali more than SA. Let's end it there!

which part here is an excuse? Were we robbed or not?
Pointing out the reasons why Nigeria lost the World Cup ticket is an excuse but doing the same to explain South Africa's shambolic AFCON performance is not excuse...?

Yeah, you're comfortably delusional. And a bit of a hypocrite as well.

i could say the same.. about you though
It's more likely we'll get another AFCON trophy before you do. We have talent scattered across the globe. Only thing we lack is structure.

head to head Mali tops SA doesn’t mean they have more pedegree over them

SA na yoyo team but hv achieved more than Mali in football
Head to head results are one of the most direct measures of competitive superiority. If Mali consistently beats South Africa when they actually face each other on the pitch, then it shows they can handle the pressure and tactics of that specific opponent when it matters.

Historical achievements from decades ago no go help you win the match wey go happen today today.

Insulting me doesn't change the fact that you beat a below-par Tunisian team, even its star player, Hannibal.. admitted this as much after their elimination.
Same way you lost to a below par Egypt team who were down by 10 men.

We can do this all day bruh.

charlesemeka85:
yes when it comes to youth football Mali tops SA in Africa but men’s football SA tops Mali in terms of achievement and pedegree

Mali is one of the worst underachievers in African football history.
Mali have a deeper pool of talent as well as constant features in the AFCON over SA. If not for trophy wey SA carry in 1996, what else does SA have over Mali in terms of achievements? Only thing I can think of is WC qualification, but for SA that happens like once in every 25 years.

As a supporter of unripe banana banana, you lack the pedigree to be dispensing credit and judging who's shiitty and who isn't.

Thats where we agree unfortunately.. our attack has been constantly our Achilles heel .. we could have easily killed-off the Cameroon youre overhyping within the few mins of the game

No South African expects us to win the world cup, so you're not really making a groundbreaking revelation here.. but we passed a hurdle you couldn't.. what does that make you?
Also you won't win this tournament too.. you guys still clearly living on the idea you're big Dawgs that boat has sailed..
The hurdle we couldn't pass was administrative corruption, not football ability. We have that in spades.

You on the other hand lack the talent. In fairness to you, you have structure. But there's only so much structure can accomplish.

You almost topped that group not by defeating us but by having our points docked.. let it also be said, your group was darn easy.. lets see when you meet, Congo, Morocco, Algeria etc.
We already met a top tier team in Tunisia. We embarrassed them for majority of the game.

When was the last time you straight up beat a top tier team? Go ahead. I'll wait.

A team with no wins is somehow in better form than a team with none? Ok.
Bruh, your attack is dogwater. You rotate the ball endlessly with nothing to show for it. You scored only 3 clear goals this tournament. Talk about maximum input with zero output.

IronGalaxy:
At what point do we talk form over pedigree.?
Even form wise, Mali and DRC clears your team. YOU couldn't break down a ten-man Egypt squad. Your attack is easy to frustrate and neutralize. Is it Mali that is playing 5-5-1-1 haramball you think you can handle?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by FiveFootNinja(m): 2:07pm On Jan 05
IronGalaxy:
You couldnt beat us both legs though.. last Afcon it had to go to penalties. This current team is mid.
We played with a depleted squad. Osimhen was absent. We just got a new coach. You were at the very top of your game and you had the advantage taking us to that pitiful potato form. If anything, you're the one who flopped those fixtures, just like you flopped in AFCON.

charlesemeka85:
nah, SA has more pedegree in African footie than Mali
Across the board that's not true. Mali's youth team are consistent performers. Also I think Mali have qualified for more AFCON tournaments in recent times. Plus they have a better head to head record. Mali have beat SA more times than SA have beat Mali. You can verify these things.

You just know its vibes and bias talking not reality.. Mali drew all their games in this tournament, we won 2.. and all of our games, not one we were dominated.. the Egypt game we lost, we played Egypt off the park, and we lost due to officiating errors.. also Mali plays eyesore football while we play more of expansive, attractive football
When it comes to football in Africa, Mali has a better pedigree than South Africa. Last time I checked their senior men's team also have a better head to head record against you bozos.

We beat you 2-0 in Nigeria in Afcon qualifiers in 2019.. and unless youre still living in the Okocha era.. you're not the prime Brazil team you think you are.
Never said we were prime Brazil. We're better than South Africa though.

The mouths are so big for a team that couldnt win a World Cup qualifiers group that had the likes of Lesotho, Zim and a "pitiful" South Africa in it..
Dude, we literally gave you guys a two-year headstart on the World Cup qualifiers and we still came from 5th place and almost topped the group on the last day. Lack of preparation cost us the ticket. Look how things are now that our squad is settled and beginning to gel. We secured 9 points out of 9 - one of only two teams to achieve this feat in this year's AFCON. It’s cute that you remember the qualifiers sha. Nostalgia is all you have left now that Cameroon has sent you to the departure lounge. cheesy
