were u expecting him to tell u that they will rig the whole process

Hehehe I believe he's new in the game. However we aren't disputing the fact that few won't get it on merit but my brother godfatherism will still take place.

How foolish was I?

Success is when opportunity meets preparation. Those who are indeed desirious of joining the job ought to have been exercising long before now. It's really late for someone to be saying he cannot make 1Km dash. Well, I hope all those from your state will also drop after 500metres, or I really fear you're already out. There's no need to sugarcoat this thing.

Modified: Mind you, people have collapsed and died during selection board before, and heaven did not fall. If you get tired along d way, just stop and walk. You can buy form next year or look for bank job. Not everybody must be officers.

So apt! My friend was later able to get new forms and all have been signed.

You are correct but Grace and Favour is also a factor. Some applicants who are done with theirs will attest to the fact that some of them were asked only 4 questions which they answered correctly and that was all.
There are parameters that will be used to select the best suited for the Job. The questions are just a fraction of that parameters including your dressing, your documents, amongst others. At this stage it is all about Grace and Favour

I think you are very correct! They were even surprised that I had M. SC yet I still applied for GT. The key is Grace and Favour!

Is the written Exam legit? Is it actually a Criteria for enlistment? What if those who passed the aptitude test are all flat footed, over aged, blablabla... I'm just Curious though.

Very legit. I remember a certain state that had 8 first class graduates in Dssc24. Also, as for your assumption, its can't be!

It is a DPR panel. It is one way to ensure that bosses in each Unit/Division can assess the core competencies of interviewees and decide if they find them suitable. I hinted that those in the Management staff in the panel even went for a refresher course on Conducting Interviews. This is to amongst many other reasons, keep the interview process very professional and merit based.

Regarding the question about having a sibling in the Department, I will leave that matter. The Department knows best what they are trying to deduce by asking this. But in the Federal Civil Service can siblings be allowed to be in the same arm of any MDA?

One of the panelist asked me how can I assess the recruitment so far, I said I can confirm that it was one of the most transparent recruitment so far by the FG and they all burst into laughter and I was like, why are they laughing grin

If it's from the right source then I might subscribe to it because that was the same period DSSC24 had theirs

lengthy and detailed, good! But why were u screened out? Secondly i thought its(interview) at Onne, not ojo, lagos. Pardon my inquisitiveness.

Well I can't say much or be specific about venue for interview but ours held at Ojo, Lagos. After the certificates verification and medicals, those that had serious medical issues were called out for counseling before the successful ones for the next stage (facing the board) we're called. The rest of us were told to retry again next time

Someone should please comment on owerrinta and portharcourt centres.
What do you want to hear from those centres?
As for Portharcourt, we got there as at the time we were expected to be there (for some of us). Those who came late were made to stand somewhere who later became batch B due to insufficient halls. Candidates who had second class lower weren't allowed to take the test. As a normal routine, we were all made to sit according to our states on their parade ground. After their "come and sit here", "go there", "squad down everybody" etc that delayed us till around 11am. Finally, The commander now said it was time for exams, usual accreditation state by state kicked off and then we were directed to their halls unlike last year's where we took the exams under the scorning sun on their parade ground. Unfortunately, they didn't do the right thing! We were supposed to sit according to our states for dissemination of answer scripts which were customized for each candidate. That was how we went in, and different ad-hoc staff (maybe staff of NN secondary school) were calling names without any organization. I became disappointed given the quality of candidates NN DSSC usually employed. We spent up to 1hr 30mins before we were then asked to go out so as to do the right thing calling us state-by-state. By and large, the exams finally started at 1:24pm and finished at 2:24pm. The questions were 75% GMAT but some of the Maths weren't funny at all. I was surprised when I saw bearing but then, they were questions one could easily play around with and hit a good mark. Btw, I'm glad I met some of my people we went to Ojo, Lagos for DSSC24 interview . Finally, God has the final say!

See you all in Ojo, Lagos (if at all another govt agency won't pick me before NN) for interview which is the "koko thing"!!!

At my centre. 2.2 candidates were sent home. The commander said if u no u fall short of any the requirement eg age, qualification, medicals etc. Please just dont waste ur precious time and hard earned money coming to Onne, portharcourt even if u are shortlisted 4 interview. Secondly u are in competition with peeople of same state with u, not inter state competition. Thirdly, go and get ur National Id(dats if u met dall naval requirement above and is invited 4 interview). DECIDE WE U STAND NOW!!! No deceive urself o!

#150k is not too a meagre fund to start a business once you have the wherewithal in terms of business know-how, expertise and experience with good networking and partnership. Recall the best advice makes you to think for yourself!

The best business idea is to create a business structure around solving your own problems or people problems, as a PhD candidate, do a serious brainstorming on what people in your shoe may lack or problem they may face daily. You may ask your colleagues as well, then puzzle out how these problems can be solved profitably.

Let me give you a clue, nowadays both govts and individuals are hankering after diversification of income via agriculture, you may think around how to create value chains on these produce. Recall : someone started the idea of plantain chips. There are a thousand and one chips one can create and make cool money via them in our dear country. You may decide to sell well packaged palm oil to your colleagues and lecturers or buy palm oils during glut period, stockpile it and sell later or embark upon whatever your outcomes of serious thinking/deliberation

In case, you desire advice on practical business ideas you can implement. You may chat me up on whatsapp via +2348053086599 or like our page on www.facebook.com/themercifulmerchants

So much sense in this!
