Bourne007:I now get. That means even after the money has been in the account for the 28days and has been printed, the rate will be determined based on the day you apply. Thats serious. Got this from the tier 4 guidance pdf file: 171. If you are using overseas currency, we will expect you to show (in writing on your application form) the closing balance in pounds sterling. We use the official exchange rate on the OANDA website, which can be found at www.oanda.com/convert/classic. Tier 4 Policy Guidance version 07/2016 page 44 of 91 172. Where your funds are in a currency other than pounds sterling, the amount we consider will be based on the exchange rate for the relevant currency on the date of your application, taken from the rates published on www.oanda.com. Thats serious oooo..that means one must really be monitoring the oanda page for a suitable time when the rate will drop. definitely within the 31days window meant for application. |
worry359:So how about the Oanda currency converter page which will be printed and attached as stated? Atleast justwise mentioned it sometime ago that one can print the page for the day the statement of account was printed. |
Bourne007:What am saying is if after 28days,I den print like the next day, u know there is a 31day window for you to apply for the visa. Does it then mean the VO will calculate based on the day u apply? |
worry359:This whole thing is confusing. Are you trying to say the day you apply for d visa is the day u must print? Even after the 28days have elapsed? |
worry359:Oga easy naa. I am trying to grasp the whole thing. So they will calculate based on the rate as at the day the statement was printed, right? cc: worry359 |
Guys, please I have a question. It still has to do with this 28days counting period. If for instance on 1st of July I started counting my 28days counting at let's say 370 for a pound and had the require amount and let's say on 5th of July the rate increases to about 379 forcing the required amount to drop slightly and on the 25th or 26th day the rate drops to 368 thereby allowing you have the required for the 28days, will it be right to print your statement bearing in mind the amount has been in that account for the 28days needed and is in line with the exchange rate for that day. Please someone should help. How will it be calculated pls? cc: justwise, olowob, and the gurus |
MrsF:Have u been to the bank? And what was their reply? Now I will advice u to get the customer care number of the bank and put a call across to them. I did the same thing. If possible try to be aggressive on phone. Its annoying. Just look for the phone number of the head office or customer care then make your complaint. They will be able to sort it out. Please try. What bank is that sef? |
MrsF:MrsF, don't tell me you are serious. Wait.. have u checked your account if its been debited? You need to do something about this. You need to visit the bank. As for the moneygram stuff, someone has to receive it for you there in the UK. Thats if you have anyone there but it might be slightly above CBN rate...slightly. If you have not been debited, i suggest u make use of another bank for the Form A. |
justwise:Sir, I think moneygram is better. I was at the bank this morning to make enquiries and the woman took me to a corner and told me moneygram is cheaper. That the difference btw western union and moneygram is about 8000 to 12000naira. |
Whatamidoinghere:Just sent a mail to you |
Luggi007:I think the other option regarding sending money via moneygram. I think that will be quite better but it might not be at exactly CBN rate. |
umarwy:Thanks a lot. That's settled. |
Whatamidoinghere:You can send a pm to me so I could get your email so we could always keep intouch. Sure we will surely catch up |
Whatamidoinghere:It will be an honour meeting you too. When do you intend going and which city in particular will you be heading to? |
Please I need some answers. Please for those that made payment for visa fee especially tier 4, please how did it go about it bearing in mind the daily restrictions on ATM cards. Please help. Kindly describe how you went about it cc: justwise, creamyworkz |
Please I need some answers. Please for those that made payment for visa fee especially tier 4, please how did it go about it bearing in mind the daily restrictions on ATM cards. Please help. Kindly describe how you went about it. |
Luggi007:Well for your first question, from a few information gotten from some people, I think you will be asked questions like why u chose your school, what course you are going for, what you intend doing with the course and the benefit when u r back and a few other stuffs. So u have to study somethings about your intended school and the course u intend studying. If possible check up ur course module as well. All the best. For the second question,I will like to know the means you want to send the money to your brother. cc: Luggi007 |
Whatamidoinghere:Yeah you are good to go |
Whatamidoinghere:Since your resumption is October, i will say there is time. When keeping your maintenance, please make sure you add additional 200k or 100k incase there is a slight increase in exchange rate. You know the exchange rate cannot be predicted. Atleast you will be on the safe side. Another thing i want to say is try to confirm from your bank if they will grant you the full tuition you want to pay, cos its like there is a limit cos i wasnt granted everything. Just confirm from them before u make payment or you split the payment. |
Whatamidoinghere:Yeah you are on track. You don dey smile abiii.. but try and do it before then oooo.. Don't wait till then ooo cos me i want to hear of ur success story. |
Hey guys please I need some info. 1. Please how did you guys pay for your visa fee? Was it through a debit card? Bearing in mind daily limits by some banks. What are the alternatives aswell? |
Guys, please I have a few questions: 1. How best can one pay the visa fee? Is it via online payment or is paid at the bank in Naira equivalent 2. As for the 28days counting needed, are weekends included? Or is it strictly 28 working days? |
wendylicious:And u also need to know dat in many schools u have to pay one year rent if am not mistaken and its so expensive. So the best is stay in a hotel for about two days then look for a shared apartment |
wendylicious:I won't even advice you to stay in the school accomodation cos its sooo sooo expensive. The best is staying off campus. Except your papa na Dangote ooooooo... |
Whatamidoinghere:Yeah its possible but like i said earlier, check your offer letter and check when the school requires you to pay atleast 1st installment. The 1st installment is to show that you have accepted the offer from the school. If u pay first week of August, u need to also consider when the bank will process the Form A. It could take 2 weeks. Then from there you will start thinking of the money you have to leave for 28days. |
cuteemperor:Cuteemperor, Please could you share your experience with us, it will be of help to most of us. |
Whatamidoinghere:Hey bro,how you doing? Paying your tuition around July isn't late. You can process it this July as long as you meet one of the conditions on your offer letter. Check your offer letter and you see a date in which atleast the 1st instalment should be paid to indicate your acceptance. Its not late. Try and see how you can process it ontime. I was at Stanbic IBTC today and they told me they still process Form A. You can go ahead and make your tuition payment but as I mentioned, try and check your offer letter and check when you are expected to make the first instalment so that you don't miss out. As for the 28days counting, if you start by first week of August, that means by first week of september you should start thinking of visa application. I will also advice u to add atleast 200k or 100k to what you will put for 28days so dat u can consider exchange that is dwindling. Like OlowoB keeps telling me, do not panic. Just take every advice into consideration and you will surely be done with the processes. Its not easy though. |
texrem:Texrem abeg u never finish the pounded yam and vegetable soup? Abeg nack us the POE and travel experience make we use jolificate this morning. |
