.... I already said that I would ignore the midfield today because we had nobody else there to replace those that were unfortunately absent. But did Laca miss two or more chances today or not? Or after the pass from Guendouzi to Iwobi who failed to find the goal. Whose fault was that? Guendouzi too?
....Or it was Guendouzi's fault that the coach keeps doing needless tinkering at this stage of the season. No?....Oga, abeg leave matter. Today's loss is on Emery squarely....no start your Guendouzi crusade today. Abeg, I dey vex.... Guendozi is the reason why Wolves may beat us. |

This loss is squarely On Emery.
We were never going to get anything out of this match with that starting eleven.
We virtually gave them the 45mins and played 2-2 in second half.
The blame for this loss is on Emery. Picking individual players to blame is senseless. We always knew they were not good enough. The last paragraph summarizes it all. |

Spurs and utd lost and yet couldn't capitalize, Where's the mental strength? Iwobi was passing to the keeper, where's ruthlessness? Zaha single handedly bullied the entire defence, where's physical strength?.
I insist on massive clear out and the recruiting of the required players to take us to the next level. |

kokaneprodigy: Like play like play Spurs being dragged into the battle for 3rd or 4th.
Like play like play they won’t make top four.
But but but but (why am I stuttering sef) Arsenal needs to play like Spurs. Barca,Madrid, juve and city are few among the teams to look up to, but its highly doubtful Arsenal will invest and get to their level soon. Meanwhile, Spurs and l.pool had managed to put up a team who are strong enough to go shoulder to shoulder against anyone ATM in Europe. Their team is characterized with players who are talented with physically and mental strength to compete at the high stage. The fact we are dragging 3rd/ 4th shows we've declined or spurs have improved. No one expects them in top4, they do not have history nor financial strength for UCL football. When we say recruit players like those in spurs, we mean assemble a team worthy of giving a good fight and lose like a matyr on the field as against the several embarrassing losses we've had in recent times. Arsenal/ spurs vs man city as a case study, recent result and performance shows city haven't found it easy against the spurs compared to Arsenal's 3-1, 0-3,3-0( carabao final).. 0-2, 3-1. City will rather play Arsenal now than spurs, only few of our players can play with fire, others are jelly. It can be evidenced from how fans complain ozil,Auba et al don't give enough on the pitch. I understand Arsenal fans hate spurs, wouldn't credit them and say they didn't win anything so they are a failed team. I hope you get it cleared. |

MrDojo: Positions we need to strengthen this summer.
1. LB to fight for a starting place with Kolasinac. 2. RW & LW - not 10-like wingers. We need players that are strong/physical, fast, skillful (can dribble), and most importantly, they can give a wicked cross. 3. CAM or AM - we need a Silva or De Bruyne kind of player in our team. Someone that can create, defend, and score.
I know must people will crucify me for not adding CB. I intentionally omitted it, because even a blind man knows we need one. But something tells me we won't sign one.
Papa... Kos... Holding... Mavp... Mustafi
We already have five defenders ( Monrel is there too), the transfer team may feel other areas need more attention (that does not mean thunder will not for them). God blees you brain, you sabi football, That's what I've been crying for even before the season started, Players who can turn, drive, dribble and give a wicked ( debruyne esque) and shoot dangerous shots like son. I'm among the few who believe a sharp deadly attack can limit opposition's attacking us, also kosc, sokratis, holding can be very okay for next year with mustafi, mavro being a good back up. |

pazienza: You lots are not giving Arsenal and Emery the credit we deserve. Napoli didn't suddenly became weak, Emery tactics and our players perfect execution of the tactics made Napoli look impotent. Napoli is still a strong team any day any time, they are currently second in seria A, and no one should tell me that Serie A quality is poor, wasn't it last season that Roma sent Athletico to Europa league on their way to topping their UCL group composing of Chelsea and Athletico. They also went on to knock Barca out and only lost narrowly to Liverpool in the semis. Juventus has been in two UCL finals in the last 5 seasons. The whole Serie A is poor talk just to discredit the job Emery and Arsenal did against Napoli is nonsense. This Napoli team won Liverpool.
Everyone is raving about spuds now, yet it's this same spurs team that Arsenal won convincingly in Emirates and should have won in Wembley if not for poor officiating that day.
Emery had done well on this team. I bash him when we lose and when he gets his team tactics and selection wrong, like recently against Everton. Fairness demands that I praise and commend him, when he does well and not try to degrade his feat by diminishing the true strength of the opposition. Emery has done well and all he could, not even pep or klopp can do more with this team. I believe he will take us to the next level with the right players |

My Arsenal is so good they made Napoli look like proper shiitt over 180 minutes. Play that game for the next 2 days and those guys wouldn't score a goal. I mean Monreal got the best effort on goal for them in the entire tie.
Disappointing from napoli. Awesome Arsenal. Sincerely, I was a lil disappointed in Napoli's approach, what happened to them, I remembered they beat Liverpool and PSG on their ground, the commentator said it and gave kudos to Arsenal. pazienza: Seriously, I feel saddened seeing Tottenham ease into UCL semis yesterday, even if it's under fortuitous circumstances with the VAR thing and Ilorente hand ball to their third goal.
It reminds me how my dear Arsenal has fallen into doldrums of European football while small spuds are now locking horns with European bests this is traumatic to me. Here we are scrambling for Europa semis, while spuds are already in UCL semis, anyone in Arsenal still denying the shift in power in North London is only being delusional. We use to be the top club in London, Chelsea post Abramovic took that away from us, now we are no longer even the top club in North London, I know I'm wailing, but I just can't help it.
I blame our current sorry state to Wenger fans who insisted we hold unto an outdated aging manager losing touch of modern football, while clubs all around us(City, Spuds, Chelsea,Liverpool ) all got young dynamic younger managers who slowly pulled away from us and left us behind. If only we did the needful by sacking Wenger earlier when Klopp left Dortmund and was interested in Arsenal, it could have been us currently in Liverpool position.
I hope we win the Europa. So let's get this Napoli team out of the way. Funny enough, we had to face an Italian team in the quarterfinals, and a Spanish opposition in the semis last season, this season is panning out the same as well. This is a fan who is honest to himself, it takes balls to openly admit this, you just like me and few orthers definitely missed the sweet glory days of beautiful euphoric moments Arsenal used to have at the big stage. We should have gotten klopp, my fear is if he(Emery) feels this players are good enough, then we haven't moved on from Wenger era, he needs to slowly ease them out and bring in what the modern football requires (I.e Mental and physical strength, highly talented personnel etc). I wish we win this Europa, but my fears are :English teams hardly do well against Spanish teams and facing a Chelsea team who may rely on Europa for UCL football. |

MrDojo: Unfortunately, Stan does not give a flying fvk if spurs win the UCL before us. If it happens, we'll automatically become the smaller club among Chelsea and them. The thought alone is frightening.
Meanwhile, a lot of people are already underestimating them against Ajax. However, I see Spurs eliminating them. In fact, they might win both legs. Poch had a way of beating teams when the odds are against him. Look at Inter during the group stage & Dortmund during the R-16. But, I feel the winner of this year's competition will be decided on the Liverpool v Barcelona game.
I'm not ruling out spurs and Ajax, buy I feel those two will win it if they get to the final.
Finally, our boys cannot afford to do their usual away nonsense today. If they don't turn up, Napoli will send us packing in the most embarrassing way possible. Emery should pick a team that will settle the game in the first 25-30 mins. If we can survive that period, there is hope for us. Also, he should start a attacking line up. He should not invite pressure from Napoli by being defensive. With our away defensive worse, it will be a recipe for diaster.
Like others pointed out earlier, the first goal is crucial. If we get it, we have a 90% chance of progressing. But if Napoli gets it, it will be a long night for us.
Although it's not the UCL, I feel we have a great chance of winning the Cup. None of the remaining teams are on a superior level. In fact, Chelsea is the last stumbling block, and they are not better than us. If we meet in the final, we have a 50/50 of winning. Everything on point bro! I feel what you feel for the Spurs/Ajax game, people believe Ajax has done the biggest thing by eliminating a Ronaldo's Juve, forgetting city wasn't a child's play, What they showed yesterday is enough as proof they won't go down against any side easily In that competition. Whichever way, the semi final promises to be pulsating for the teams involved and exciting yo the neutrals. |

solomonbrown64: .....To think that Mavpro has been taunted to be better than Mustafi is really laughable...but seriously no competitive match since forever and then thrown into a tough match like this... Common, Emery clearly doesn't like the guy....
.... Pulling off Torreira for Guendouzi would have been better or even Niles but Ozil was a risky call and we nearly paid for it. It was a bad substitution no matter how you look at it.
.... Iwobi useless?? If anyone was useless today, it was Mkhi and Ozil and Auba, each of whom wasted chances upon chances created by Iwobi. Iwobi was our only creative outlet today and yet he is useless? I don't think we watched the same match bro. We were dominated by Doucoure and co and that was because Emery took off Torreira who had ten ball recoveries alone in the first half for a lazy person in Ozil....
... We need players badly... this Arsenal is average at best. Emery has a funny way of throwing in players who haven't featured in a tough match, Guen's debut against city, El neny at Everton and now Mavro, let's not use their short cameo to conclude about them. Iwobi had reiterated several times he isn't a winger, he's a 10, he's more threatening from that side, but due to lack of wingers, he's deployed there because he is the only man who can do a job there. It isn't is forte, but fans want to see him do a Sterling or hazard, he's clearly average there and may be world class in few years time on that flank. Doucoure was too much for our pretty model midfielders and we could have gone down with Deeny and Delefou. Auba, ozil and mhicky too weak and soft for this league. We indeed need new players. |
