Realteeyee123: So certain coolant are a 50/50 mix and it’s pre mixed so you don’t use water again while some are concentrate, for those you can use water and mix with it .
So depending on the coolant you have . Thank you. How often do I use coolant? |
Car Talk › Re: How Nigerian Drivers Destroy Their Car Engines Without Knowing It by Fkj202004: 2:45am On Dec 23, 2025 |
BlackKafka: Check your car manual or google online. Different colours of radiator coolant are meant for different applications. The pink coolant is standard for Toyota cars from 2014 upwards. Also, never ever mix different types of coolants - it would mess up your engine. If you are unsure of what coolant is in your car, drain the radiator before inputting. Can I pour in the coolant when there's still water in the radiator? And how often do I have to put coolant? |

DivergentSony: OK thanks but the general rule on elective courses is one must register one elective course per semester right?
Because I think I've met that condition. I already passed 2 Elective courses among my 400L course. I did CIT461 Internet Architecture & Comm & CIT478 Artificial Intelligence at different semesters.
What am just wondering is why it's only that CIT463 Intro to Multimedia Tech. that's the only elective showing as outstanding?
Any Elective that one doesn't do in a level/semester, is it supposed to still show as outstanding in statement of results from support portal if one already passed the required no. of elective for that semester/level It might be waived if you have passed all other core courses. |
Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Fkj202004: 6:46pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
Xenob: We only have to do at least one elective course each semester right?
So that means as long as we have done one for a particular semester, we don’t have to register the other pending elective courses even though they still appear on our portal.
Am i wrong? Elective courses are not compulsory. They are meant to boost your CGPA or so. If you have 1 elective for the semester, you can register the one; if you have 2 electives, you can register one and leave the other but if you have more than 2 electives, you can register more than 1. For MBA students, there are a lot of electives in their third semester in which they are to register 6 depending on the specific they choose. |

DivergentSony: Pls I need your advice guys
I have 3 outstanding courses in my support portal statement of results as a final year student:
CIT191 Computer Laboratory I - 1unit C CIT208 Information Systems - 2unit C CIT463 Intro to Multimedia Tech - 3 unit E
I'm trying to save cost and don't want to register the elective, I don't know if they'll allow me graduate if I don't do that remaining elective.
[Anyone who has experience on NOUN's graduation policies on elective courses should pls help out.[/b]
I don't want a situation where they'll use it to hold me down till next year where I have to pay another 30k for semester fee just to take that 1 elective 3 unit course. You want to save cost and and the same time, you are afraid the course will hold you back. Register the course. Although, it won't hold you back but you can register it to be on a safer side |

While some people said I must write all the 200l courses to finally graduate, some said I must write only the gst204 not minding I admitted into 300l. Lastly, some said I should ignore it since it's not 300l GST.
The worst part of it is that NOUN support are not responding to tickets Your student counselor in your study centre can resolve this issue. Visit the centre |

Anitaaaa: Slow down matey
If it was that simple I won’t be bothered. My portal is showing entry mode as open instead of direct.
I have 100 level courses as outstanding on my portal. That should not be the case If I am to graduate this semester. Yes, it is true that your support portal will show courses of 100 level if you started from 200 level or 100 and 200 level courses if you start from 300 level. I have seen a lot of students come in through 200 or 300 level graduate without doing courses of lower levels; thus, yours won't be a different case. You can send your details to my email. I will forward to a very very experienced counselor to confirm what I am telling you. Thank you |

Anitaaaa: The call I got was from the director office and the person in question is his secretary. In her words “the letter cannot go through to HQ because DE students must take 100 level courses (aside from GSTs) I explained this earlier. Now you are saying what I want to hear. Some of us here are very very very experienced than you know. Take my advice and do only GST courses from 100 and 200 level if you started from 300 level or do from 100 level if you started from 200 level. Cheers |

Anitaaaa: Okay, call me a liar. The call I got from the school? How do you explain that? Oh Sorry, it was a prank call right ? Not calling you a liar but let me tell you the channel of communication in the university. As a student, if you have a complaint, you have to go to your study centre and lay your complaints. The study centre will channel it to the needed department and give you feedback when available. The only time a student can get direct contact with headquarters is through support portal and they won't call you unless you have a very very very serious case. They will only reply you through support portal. You know there have been a lot of disclaimers from the university regarding imposters. |

Enskynelson: I disagree with this in its entirety. Whoever you called, HOD or not didn't tell you the truth. FKJ202004 is not mincing words, he is shocked too because that is not true. Ain't you shocked too that someone who claims to be HOD will tell that you have to do ALL 100 courses as a DE.
It is not true. I have many students who were admitted via DE and they have graduated without all 100L courses. So, disregard that information.
Send me a DM, maybe I will be able to give you a headway. Don't be frustrated ☺️ I have seen a lot of students graduate as direct entry without doing every course in 100 level except the GSTs. Let me not say much but I want to believe he didn't talk to the HOD. The HOD will not give such advice. I will encourage him to ignore those courses but he should make sure he does the GST courses |
Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Fkj202004: 1:15pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
Anitaaaa: You really think I will make such claim ignorantly, Thats what the HOD told me herself. I called Abuja, they told me to write a letter through my study centre, next day I got a call that the letter cannot go through because all students must take 100 level courses irrespective of their entry mode. This is the first time I am hearing this. What's your programme? |

If it’s about the money. I fit dash them!
Steer clear NOUN will frustrate you!!! Hello, do the calms. Who gave you such information? Well, that information is wrong. The only courses you are to do if you started from 200 or 300 level are GST courses. |

DivergentSony: Pls I want to confirm something I heard about NOUN graduation
I heard years back that the max no. of years and semester one can use after gaining admission is 8 years & 16 semesters. That after that, anyone who hasn't graduated will be locked out of the portal and can't graduate again.
So I don't know if that rule still holds or what it it actually means is it no. of years & semester you register for courses & exams passes 8/16, not no. of subsequent/successive years after you get admitted.
I gained admission in 2014 and I'm in 400L final year of ICT, though my matruc starts from NOU13 because I started processing Dec 2013.
So I don't know if it will actually affect me and prevent me from graduating because I've seen some few final year graduates on the final year list whose matric shows they've exceeded 8 years. I've been unable to access my portal since they did that migration last year until I decided to try it again on Monday by doing a password reset before I could login.
I'm currently processing my project with my supervisor and don't want to go and waste any money on it and final year clearance bills if I can't graduate and get the certificate. Continue with it. You will graduate if you have passed all necessary courses |
