Zionmdde: I think there should be widespread massive protest in all the southern states experiencing the evils of fulani herdsmen. Southerners should make it very obvious that herdsmen are not welcomed anywhere in their region I don't know what kind of government we have that will rather see people kidnapped, raped, killed and their farms destroyed than to place a firm and strict ban on anything herdsmen. Anybody seen in the bush should either be a farmer or be treated like a criminal.
It's also time government start seeing that their economic policies are causing only more and more hardship. People are really suffering. All they know is to attack opposition voices while people cry in pains. I am glad the protest is in SW. At least we won't hear its because they lost election No Bros. The protest should first start from South West, then others will follow |

elguaje: Good day my man,
I was supposed to graduate in 2023, but I couldn’t because I didn’t complete my project on time. In 2024, I finally finished my project and received my result a B. Naturally, I expected my name to be on the graduation list released earlier this month.
To my surprise, my name wasn’t there. When I checked my statement of results on my portal, I found four new outstanding courses that I wasn’t aware of. I’m really confused.
Please, what can I do? Is there any chance my name could be included in the second batch of the graduation list?
Looking forward to your advice. Thanks If they are newly added courses, they are supposed to list you for convocation, if not, you have to do those courses. Better still, meet the student counselor in your study centre for proper guidance. |

Enskynelson: The amount is the same and I think it should work for you. Go ahead and continue your application as you will be given the leverage to choose your choice of programme while filling the form. If you encounter any issue, kindly get back here. It will not work for the applicant. The applicant should get in touch with the centre who will contact MIS to change the payment to PGD. I had such case recently |

Enskynelson: Let's hope when they are done, the complaints will be less. We are hoping students results are correctly uploaded as some students are getting exactly the same results as previous semesters. While others are getting parallel Fs and incompletes |
Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Fkj202004: 6:10pm On Feb 25, 2025 |
Enskynelson: It requires formal application through your Study Centre (they will do everything possible to discourage you) but if you are sure of what you wrote, do ignore and go ahead with the application. Remarking fee for a script is about 25,000 (also another discouraging factor). But if you are sure of what you did, still ignore and go ahead with the application. At the Study Centre, they will give you all the details. I think the application is to be directed to the academic registry through your study centre director.
NOTE: Applying for remark is not to discredit the school but it gives the school the confidence that all their quality control measures are in check. If for instance your grade after the remark comes out considerably different, the management will have to look into their processes and procedures that generated the results, fix the problem that led to the error and then put in place strigent measures for the repeat of such to be impossible. But when you go to your study Centre and say you want to apply for a remark, the kind of discouragement you will often meet shows some people really don't know that remarking a script also has a way of improving the overall process of the exams. I think there's issue with the recently released results. Most students results are either incomplete or parallel F. |

techgen: The loop hole in online systems is enormous…student tends to outsource their school load out.
And again, one of the main purpose of schooling is to socialize, as it’s part of learning…online classes won’t give you that leverage: Students still see themselves whenever they go to the Study Centres to resolve issues. They socialize and most times form reading groups (an experience I have seen). |

It's a shame.
I know of a university, National Open University of Nigeria that has gone so digital that 95% of activities in the university are done online including lectures and assignments.
All academic results are posted on a specially designed website. Other universities should emulate going digital |

SundaysTechLab: Pls I've been having issues with login to the new portal since they did the migration last year.
I've went to ICT department at VI and followed the steps to follow to register/reset password on the new portal but it's not going.
If I login, it'll bring the 1st screen shot about going to announcement page/homepage but there's nothing like announcement there, it's only on support.nou.edu.ng that there's an instruction (2nd screenshot) and even the steps there is not working.
If I try to reset the password or login again on the portal login page, it'll be saying email address error as shown in 3rd screei
But my noun gmail is working well and I've been receiving mails to it. I can also login to support.nou.edu.ng to view my results.
I even tried to register as frest student my matric no. it went through but login is still not going.
I'm a 400L student that have finished my exams since 2/3 semesters ago with only project remaining, so I don't know if that's another reason that's happening.
Or are 400L students experiencing what I'm experiencing on the portal? Click fresh students and sign up. Then wait 48 hours |

NiceLegs: From what I'm reading here, it's seems this NOUN school is good.
But I have some worries.
1) Is their certificate accepted globally for both work and studies outside Nigeria in countries like USA, Canada, Australia, UK etc?
2) I understand my learning style. I struggle with anything E-Books. And so, am guessing their study materials will all be in form of E-Books.
I am a traditional learner. I prefer hard copy books. I like to hold my books in my hand to read them. I love to put my books on the table and study them. I love turning pages of my books when reading.
With all these said, I fear I might not fit in studying at NOUN where all books or will I say STUDY MATERIALS are all online.
3) The NAME: I wish federal government can remove the name "OPEN" from National Open University. This is because when I hear the name "OPEN", I feel people studying there are unserious (no offense).
I feel it's because they don't go through the rigours that regular students go through.
You can't compare a regular student in a Conventional University to a student at an Open University.
So I feel when I graduate and my certificates bear OPEN UNIVERSITY, it will seem as if I didn't go to school when I present it outside the country.
For example in UAE, some government ministries don't employ graduates from OPEN Universities.
These are just my reservations. I stand to be corrected. 1. NOUN's certificate is accepted worldwide. 2. You have the option of getting hard copies at the Study Centre or printing if they don't have. 3. NOUN students are not unserious as most of them Study on their own and write their exams |

Why do you say Study Centres are ineffective? Will you be able to go through the university without the Study Centres? If you have an issue, state it here and if it cannot be resolved here, you will surely be told to go to the study centre. |

Xxxylxxxx: You will explain tire You'd better drop out and get yourself enrolled in a conventional university because you will regret wasting your time and money getting a degree from that university. Here at my workplace, three applicants were rejected. They were told the truth: this company will not accept any certificate from NOUN. Your company should be sued. NOUN is a recognised and NUC accredited university and no company or organization is supposed to reject certificates from NOUN. Those applicants are supposed to let NOUN aware and they will be sued |

Try as much as possible to quel every lies told against your university with the truth. It is only you that can defend your institution and save its image.

Enskynelson: Quite easy to say this. The last Law Undergraduate Student was admitted before 2017, probably 2015 was the last time. They stopped admitting new students and gave the time between the and now for those in the program.me to round up. Maybe the time given wasn't enough though. While it is painful to o begin and not finish, it wasn't like NOUN didn't try to make sure all that are willing to finish up did finish up the programme.
3m to study Law in NOUN 😂 ... Kai... This is a very big fat lie. Without CO, it is less than 400k because they are old students who didn't have to pay the new fees in NOUN. Thank you Enskynelson. This is what I have been trying to say. This is not NOUN's fault |

barinedan: If not for deliberate act of wickedness, why not allow those already in school to complete their programs while you stop admitting new students NOUN has stopped admitting new law students since 2015. Those ones still in the programme since 2015 were allowed to finish and graduate. Now the question is, why didn't they graduate from 2015 to 2023 (over 8 years for a 5 year programme). Still, NOUN told them first semester of 2023 that the programme will be finally closed after second semester of 2023 and that everyone still in the programme should ensure to graduate (there was a memo issued to all students on that regard). That was fair enough. Those that are complaining now are those that didn't pass their courses or projects, thus, they didn't graduate. So who do you blame? |
