If it was imported for making leather products, I don't see anything wrong with it. But if it was imported for human consumption, I understand it should not be stinking but saying it was adulterated got me confused.

I don't know who is the bigger thief, is it the one that wanted his N9M turned into N18M overnight or is it the guy that collected the money under false pretence?
It baffles me how people fall for all these, it's just like those that claim to arrange 'sure games or sure bets' ; if someone has the power to double money or predict games accurately, he should be richer than Dangote and Otedola in just 1 year. They would b busy building their empire , doubling their money and wouldn't come to ask you to bring money for doubling or pay for sure games.

Anyway, there's so much poverty in the land, poverty can distort someone's reasoning sometimes.

I hope they didn't lock up all of them in this our '5 star' police cells/prisons especially the Covid-19 and traffic offenders. They should b tried and their punishments communicated to them immediately.

OP made some valid points, but in SUMMARY, the best way of handling being fired is TO GET A NEW JOB IMMEDIATELY OR START YOUR OWN BUSINESS (if u don't have one already). When u have bill to pay, there may not be enough time for some of the things OP mentioned.

Such 'single story' syndrome is normally caused by the myopic or false view of some group of persons about certain towns and they go around spreading fallacious rumours. This is very bad and has affected how others see a certain town, state or ethnic group.
It's true this rumours might have originated from haters but it's wrong to call everyone with such perception a hater, most of them don't know the truth, they just believed what they heard. And having heard the same story from different people deepens such belief.
The main solution is to educate people with the right information just like the OP has done

A lot of people believe it's real, it's the requirements and consequences that are scaring people away
