BBiggie: It's just as the names suggests it to be, a health insurance policy that will cover her in case she falls ill or related, along the line of her transit and arrival to Germany before she obtains her resident permit. It's just like NHIS in Nigeria but for immigrants in transit. I did mine with Axa Mansard online and it was instantaneous, you get it as soon as you make payment with your card. I did six months for 17k+. There are others like Mawista Visum and Coracle health insurance from Germany but I will just advise you to go for the Nigerian own cos it's less expensive, the likes of Aiico, IGI and Leadway, but I can only talk of Axa Mansard because it's the only one I have done. |

VISUM ALERT!!! My story is a very unique one. It's kind of long but I will try to make it as short as possible. Getting my visa took me 292 days counting from my AD, and I can tell you it wasn't all rosy. My first admission was for August 2018, I got the enrollment letter ending of June. I tried to secure an AD at the ebmassy but I couldn't get an early date, the best date I got was December 03, 2018 and I booked it, good enough my school was able to give me a new enrollment date for February 11, 2019. I tried putting my documents together early enough in preparation for the AD, but unfortunately, the source of my BA funds was not forthcoming, I had to look for other alternatives. I still could not get the funds for my BA as at the day of my interview but went for the interview in good faith. The morning of the interview came and I discovered that there were some documents I had carelessly not photocopied. Got to Walter Carrington in good time and got myself charged heavily by those boys for making those photocopies, it was a sorry case. One way or the other I got myself on oga Paulinus's bad side, it was really ugly, that set me back like an hour before I could go in. As if to compensate for my encounter with oga Paulinus, the interview went very smoothly. I didn't actually know that I was being interviewed until the last 10mins of our conversation which was when the VO asked me to pick up the phone. She asked me to sign the paper stating I will provide BA later and told me to try to get it and send it within a week. It shocked me to discover that my interview ended almost at the same time with most of those that went in way early before me. Back to sourcing for BA funds, there was extremely high hopes which eventually turned to big dissappointment, it was a big blow and it was getting really late. One way or the other I got a friend to get me SL. Exactly a month after my interview I got my AM, yet I had not gotten my BA funds though the AM mail requested for it, so I decided the make use of the SL my friend got me. Sent them a mail the next day stating that I used SL instead of BA confirmation. Sent them Axa Mansard Insurance as travel insurance too, it's one of the cheapest. And the long wait began, I waited for like a month after I sent my documents in response to the AM mail, no response or any documents from the embassy. I sent mails, no response. I made calls and was told to keep sending mails. Sent mails again, no response. I eventually contacted foreign office in Germany and was told they are still waiting for my SL to arrive at their office because the SL was not from the city I was goin to, and that they have been waiting for two weeks. I called my sponsor to inform him about the situation and he went to the foreign office in his city to push them to send it asap and they did. I asked for extension from school and I got another enrollment for April, informed the embassy without them asking, they didnt even respond, I kept on waiting. February 25, 2019, I got a rejection letter along with my documents through DHL, it was a big blow. The reason for the rejection was that they were not sure of my suistenance in Germany, "the thing weak me". I summoned some courage and energy to put up an appeal, submitted the appeal almost a month latter. It was from their response that I got to know that my sponsor who provided the SL is not able to fully finance my stay through his income, and I was asked to submit another SL or BA confirmation before June 25, 2019. And so the search for BA money continued. I couldn't meet up with the June 25 deadline, therefore mailed the embassy again with prayer that they should give me till the end of August, meanwhile, school had given me another enrollment for September. Gracefully, the embassy replied and gave me till August 16, 2019 and I was glad. Miraculously, help came from several members of my family, I wasn't expecting it, but God works great wonders. Nevertheless, the majority of the money which was sent to my account on the first of August did not enter, that was a Thursday, told my benefactor I didn't receive it, he had to go to the bank the next day, they promised him they will send it that it was network problem, till the end of that Friday no money still, called him again, he was perplexed, he said he was wondering why he didnt receive alert too. We had to wait till Monday 5th, August, bank apologized and promised him again, nothing again that day. Next day he got a call from head office and they started apologizing again that they will make sure the transfer gets processed that day, it entered around 5pm that day, we were relieved. Next day 6th August, called my aboki, told him to go to the bank, GTbank, and deposit the money in my Euro dom acc that I will meet him there. Before I got to the bank, he called to tell me that cashier told him he could only deposit 1000 euro per week, I didn't understand what he was saying, just told him to wait for me. Got to the bank, asked the cashier, he repeated the same thing, I was puzzled, went straight to my account manager, she said she was sorry that its the standing order for euro deposits, I was puzzled and didn't know what to do. I was eventually saved by one travel and vacation agent my family had used in the past, we called him and he said he had the amount in his domiciliary account already, gave him the BA transfer details and transfered naira equivalent to him. He couldn't go to the bank the same day so we had to wait till the next day. The next day came and he went to his bank and sent it, he said he will send us telex as soon as the transaction gets processed, telex no enter o. Thursday, Friday nothing, meanwhile he was going to the bank repeatedly to check with the cashier, the response was that the backlog at the head office was much. On the 15th of August a family member of mine had to follow him to the bank, luckily, the cashiers knew my family member and they promised him that it will be processed the same day. Very early in the morning, around 3am of August 16, I woke up, checked my phone and saw this mail from Fintiba that the money has entered, I was surprised the transfer didn't even take up to 24hrs, I couldn't sleep again. Morning came and off to the embassy I went to submit the BA confirmation. Those boys for Walter Carrington chop my money again, this time it was with fight, right now I can't event remember what I went to do with them. I got a fedex prepaid envelope and went to German consulate. I met some people there, but not much. I didn't see Paulinus, I missed his face. The man I met there was so calm that I had to tell myself that this man must have another side to him too or maybe he is new and that this was how Paulinus must have started too, calm and gentle, then time and tide happened to him. Submitted my documents and left. I sent the BA confirmation to the embassy via email too. I was expecting that the embassy will send me a mail within a week, nothing, nada, zilch, niente. It really got on my nerves, my family members calmed me down. I had to call school to give me extension, I got September 13th, sent to embassy. September 13 came, nothing. The Monday after which was 16th I sent them a mail asking for status, on Wednesday 18th that was how this email crept into my inbox that they are sorry that my visa decision is taking so long that they have sent a letter to school to ask if my admission was still valid I quicky called school about it. School had already seen the mail from the embassy and reponded to them that the enrollment was only valid till that September 13th but they could give me a new enrollment letter valid for November, and that was how embassy mailed me that smae day that I should get a new letter, told school instantly, next day I got enrollment letter with induction date of October 21, sent it straight to embassy, this was September 19, embassy replied instantly that I should submit a new health insuarance for 6 months, did Axa Mansard shengen policy online for N17,050 instantly and sent to them. I tracked my envelope this morning September 21, lo and behold it had being dispatched, waited till around 1 pm to leave for the courier, got there and my parcel had arrived, collected it, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. 1:30pm : ALAS!!! VISUM/VISA Deutschland. My passport looked like the most precious thing on earth at that very moment. I am sorry, I didn't mean for it to be this long, but still have to add a few other things. Lessons Learnt: - Always put God first to guide you through, never walk alone, pray and pray and make sure others are praying along with you. - Be sure you know well about the process, learn from others especially about there experience, nevertheless, every persons experience is unique but you might learn a thing or two and pick a leaf from it. - Don't neglect instructions, especially the ones on the embassy's webite and the standard ones on this forum topic, God help you if you fumble before the great Oga Paulinus. - If you can start arranging the BA money before you even start any other process, please do. - Don't feel your situation is impossible, just have that little faith, believe and never give up. Lemme stop here, this thing is getting too long. Always remember to give back plenty to those who have given you something even if little. This forum gave me a lot. Thanks to everyone, my family first and foremost, my wife especially. Thank you my very good friend that introduced me to Deutschland. Thank you justwise, Eldeee, heybaby, dailydolar, Deustchemann, Fabcol, sassy92, Chriswazo so many people I can't remember their names right now. For those expecting, your testimony is on the way by God'd grace. Danke schoen!!! 72 Likes 7 Shares |

There is nothing like 50% of blocked account, even with 99.99%, as long as the stated amount on your transfer agreement is not complete you will not get blocking confirmation, therefore it's not an option, at least as much as I know. And concerning SL, from my own experience it might reduce your chances greatly. The income of the person standing in as a sponsor is important, even if his income is great you will still have to consider other things like how many people are dependent on him and stuffs like that and I am very sure the alien office in Berlin will do "calculus" on those factors before making their decision, especially now that the monthly allowance has increased from 720 to 853 euro. So my best bet is that if you can strive hard to get the 10,236 euro plus additional costs you should be on a safer side, good thing is that it's still your money. That being said, there might be better opinions than mine, but I feel you should do well by my advice. You are welcome, feel free to ask more, will be glad to help as much as I can, learned so much from this thread than not to give back. lobby: 1 Like |

First of all, I'll advise you to immediately pull down those pictures because they might contain sensitive information that might be used against you. That being said, the email seems real legit and yes I was contacted with both UK number and German number, this usually happens if your course is handled by one of there affiliates in the Uk, like in my case it was Arden University and I had to call out my card details to the on the phone to make the payment. Checkout Deustchemann's post for you above, he's got some really nice advice you can learn from and I respect his words. lobby: 2 Likes 1 Share |

I can assure you Gisma is reliable, I have AL from there already, though I have been having issues with the embassy cos of funding, Gisma has been helping me a lot through it all. I have been able to get my admission deferred 3 times. You will need to pay the 2000 euro before you can get the enrollment letter from them. If you can follow through with the instructions given you then you should be good by them. Providing adequately proof of work experience can help you a lot and a good motivational letter. Please note, you have to be sure you are dealing directly with a personnel of the school. Hope that helps. lobby: 3 Likes 1 Share |

I was thinking of doing something like a FAQ app but I will need people who can go through all of the threads and index the questions and the answers just like Adhheir has done for interviews. This will help a lot of new comers. Anyone intrested in helping out, PM me. I am sure Adhheir is already on board. 1 Like 1 Share |

victree007: My sponsor tried to get one for me from Berlin but he was told at the alien office that they don't give out SL for the purpose of study again, only for short stay, probably because it's use has been abused, I can't say for sure. He had to get a friend of his to get it done for me from another state. P.S. - He tried several times but he wasn't successful but it was very easy for his friend from another state. 1 Like |

Hello everyone, hope you are having a great day. I had my interview on the 3rd of this month but I could not go with any proof of fund. During my interview the VO asked me to sign a small paper stating that I will send my deutsche blocked account confirmation to info@lago.diplo.de, but I told the VO I will be using SL, she said I should still sign it. Now I have my SL. So my question is I want to know if it's better to send the hard copy of the SL or send it as an email. Thanks |

My brother in-law from Cameroon who is now a citizen of Germany and resides in Berlin willingly offered to write me a SL. He went to the immigration office there in Berlin and he was informed that they no longer process SL for students cos of the way it has been misused in the past but students are still using SL and embassy is still collecting it, right?
