It was in Jss 2, I was 10 and foolish enough to pick a fight with Simbiat. I can no longer remember what happened. But I remember that after that day I didn't talk to my friends for two weeks because they didn't come quickly enough to separate us. Nor be small thing o.
I was easily the smallest kid in the class. Simbiat was like the twice my age and thrice my size. The foolishness that made me pick that fight, I dunno again. Simbiat wasn't our mate at all. She already had boobs before we knew what a nipple was. Her palms were wider than a Skynet Satellite Dish. She was like the mother of the class. We had a tussle over a seat in class and she pulled it out of my grasp. I could have been mature about it and let it be, but was I that wise? No I wasn't. My friends were standing around me. Shouldn't they have told me to let it be? Shouldn't they have begged me to leave her alone as she's a lady and I should play the gentleman? They didn't do any of these. Like real friends did, they egged me into the fight.
And then I pushed Simbiat.
If you hear the sound of the abara she landed on my back! I didn't hear it though. The bible says if you hear the sound of the bullet then it wasn't meant for you. The abara landed so loud it shifted the earth plate. Europe must have moved 23cm closer to Asia. Just small push that I pushed her o.
But then my biology betrayed me and my stupid adrenaline kicked in. Instead of me to kneel down and start begging, I wanted to get one on her too. So I threw one weak ass punch that didn't even touch her properly. That was the last memory of the fight I had. Simbiat dragged me from Berger to Ajah, all the way through Ikorodu to Okokomaiko. It was the meanest beat up in the history of mean beat ups. This girl beat me so much that God must have written off all the sins I'd committed prior to that event since I can't go to hell twice.
Till date I still wonder what kind of monster she was. Did she not know that I just lost my mother? Did she not know that losing a loved one to cancer was enough to make a 10 year old boy an entitled brat? I mean she could have just told me to kneel down and and hands up and I would have gladly obeyed after that first abara.
While she was dragging me upandan like small generator, did my friends come to separate us? No. They kept cheering me up and motivating me. Kept saying that I could do it. That I should get up and keep fighting. Keep fighting ke, were these people not mad like these?
Anyway the beat up ended after the teachers intervened and me and her came to an amiable resolution that was fair to all of us. I was only required to come and greet her every morning and clean her chair for the next one year only. I think that was when I became a feminist.
