Neglect of duty is not a criminal offense or criminal conviction. The CJC gave three distinct instances that can lead to forfeiture. In Tinubu’s case, the forfeiture was as a result of neglect of duty and it was even a civil case. Forfeiture of property as a result of neglect of duty in a civil case is not a criminal conviction.

Your leggy seedlings need adequate amount of sunlight, else they will keep growing towards direction of sunlight (+ve phototropism) and stem will be unnecessarily slim. They also need air to avoid damping off. Perhaps you got them covered far too long.
Give them those 2 things and you should be fine.

On another note, you didn't prepare your tray well oo. The cocopeat should be leveled such that the cells of the tray will be visibly distinct from each other. Just trying to imagine how you'll remove the seedlings from the trays at transplanting.

This does not look like insect oo. its rodents or other grass eating animals. insects wont cut that big stem like that.

You can transplant the tall ones, just that they are liable to more transplant shock than smaller ones vos they will bend quickly. Ensure to dig hole dipper so the stem can form lots of adventitous roots.

What's your take concerning the use of sawdust for mulching cukes roots during dry season?

Sawdust is known to zap nitrogen content of surrounding soil.
Using Sawdust as mulch on footpath in-between ridges okay.
But applying around your crop (on ridges ) is not advisable oo as it will extract nitrogen from your soil and plants roots just for its own decomposition. Your plants may suffer it most especially non leguminous crops.
Some Sawdust (wood) even content crazy biochemical residues

How do you measure Urea for 12000 Cukes plants

First, 5 table spoon from my calculations is much. If 128gram of Calcium Nitrate for example should be dissolved in 94.64litre of water, it therefore means

1gram should be dissolved in 0.739 litres of water
21.65 grams should be dissolved in 16litre of water (knapsack)

21.65gram is about 1 and half tablespoon.

Secondly, Urea is very soluble in water and can be passed through drip.

Lastly, I don't use venturi. I dissolved and add to my fertigation tank and mix with stick. Same way I irrigate for 15 to 20mins depending on my drip pressure, I also add fertilizer solution after I must have irrigated first to allow the soltion percolate down the soil.

Npk can be Fertigated... I'm not sure about Urea ooo... How do you dissolve it.

I think 5 table spoon of those Nitrates fertilizers too much oo.
NPK cannot dissolve totally. the Phosphorus won't allow it. Urea can be dissolved and fertigated. I use 1kg of urea dissolved in 200 litre water and pass through drip. It does not burn whatsoever.

Fertigation through Venturi is the best

I personally think Potassium Nitrate and MGSO4 can be applied via foliar @ 1 and half spoon per knapsack and you'll see result. Just ensure you apply frequently. Aside NPK and SSP that I apply as basal,( I also fertigate urea) other ones can be applied as foliar and they work very effectively.

I have applied Calcium Ammonium Nitrate as side dressing (fertigation) like 3 times to my tomato and still had blossom end rot. Subsequent planting, I applied just 1.5 table spoon per knapsack almost every week and noticed I didn't see one case of blossom end rot. Now imagine the wastage in side dressing bags of expensive fertilizers with just using 1.5 teaspoon.

I normally put all my seedling trays on soil ( nursery) both cucumber and tomato, the idea is for the seedling to tap nutrients since am not using manure nor fertilizer with the cocopeat, and I always have excellent nursery result. The only 1 time I have issue with my seedlings is when I bought fake Cocopeat

I also use that method for tomato � cos tomato will spend several weeks in nursery and need nutrients to develop true leaves. But cucumber � will only be transplanted with the 2 seedleaves hence no need for any tapping of nutrients from the soil. Allowing the roots of these cucumber seedlings to be firmly attached to the soil which eventually break at the point of transplant will cause big transplant shock. Cucumber not too forgiving with that unlike tomato. I will always prefer to put nylon on the floor before placing my seed trays like in the pic.

However, if you can work your ways around your method and it works very well, no wahala.

I don't want to do direct planting because of increased insect presence during dry season . Pls other farmers too can contribute. How long will my seedlings be in nursery before transplanting to the field. I know tomatoe is like 3-4 weeks but don't really know about cucs. Make the thing no go overstay .

4 to 5days okay. Make sure you push the tray from beneath before pulling the seedlings to avoid root disturbance.

Also, makes sure you don't place the trays directly on the soil so the roots don't attach to the soil when ready to transplant. Cucumber seedlings are very delicate.

Overall, doing nursery saves lots of seeds from wastage.
