Please help, i have secured a large plot of land that might be as big as 20 plots when measured but my problem is how to irrigate it, it doesn't belong to me so drilling of a well or borehole might not be allowed by the owner so the next option would be to buy water from neighbors with borehole and transfer it by pipe to a plastic water tank or tanks on site, i would like to start with one crop and one plot at a time and gradually turn the entire plot to a full time vegetable garden, so how best should i approach the irrigation problem? What size of tank should i buy giving my current and future plans? Any other advice would be appreciated?

Will the owner of the borehole allow you finish his water reserve wey dey aquifer? Irrigating 20 plots of land from a domestic borehole, won't the water dry off? Climate change is really oo. Even a commercial borehole sef might not do oo. And cucumber consumes more water than tomatoes and pepper.

Just think it through so you dont get stranded midway.

It depends on the quality of fertlizer. If you use those blended fertlizers mixed with soil, it will block it. Go for water soluble fertlizers like urea, SSP fertlizers and also ensure they are from good brands like Tak agro, Notre or Dangote, etc.

Boss, SSP not soluble. Same phosphate makes it difficult to fertigate NPK easily, it won't just dissolve.
Calcium Nitrate, Potassium Nitrate, Mg sulphate, these can dissolve

Boss flowmama, I cultivated last year own as a broke nigger, no money to even buy fuel, no helping hand,and to even buy effective fungicide hard me (ortiva top) last year was a one man job. I don't set foot on market last year to know maybe they were cheating me , I was just doing collection, and receive whatever they gave me . This year I have millions in my account, I even bought Brand New tricycle to transport my produce to market, so as to see things for myself.

Last harvest today... in terms of yields, price and quality it is far better than Last year own. I thank God for making it a successful one,and all the contributor on this platform, believe it or not I have gain few more things on this platform this season which I believe will make me a better farmer next season.like seriously... I am happy with my harvest this year...... till next year again... Price today, Grade1 13-12k,grade2 12-10k.

I dont think this is cutworm oo, neither is it damping off.

1. Lack of nutrient. Seems you didn't mix manure or any nutrient with your cocopeat. See, you only try that cocopeat + water if you are leaving your seedling tray on the soil to allow for root penetration into the levelled soil. Else you must use manure or fertlizer. Also avoid moving your seedlings all the time. Leave them and allow their root to be well attached to soil. Anytime you move them, their roots cut and they may wilther for sometime before they develop.another root

2. I believe something like birds, rodents or lizards are walking on those gentle seedlings making them.to fall. Cover them.with net and you'll notice they won't fall again.

Try to uproot one plant and check the root for any nematode colonisation. Apply velum prime through drip. Works like magic

the seedlings is 10 old today. For those that watch the video, the net I spread under was removed on 8 day because the root has shoot out.i don't apply any manure, fertilizer or pesticide.

Thats if birds have not eaten it. Try cover it with very little soil next time. Also ensure to use dry leaves or palm fronds to cover the area planted. that will provide warmth needed for germination and also protection.
