The Department of State Services, DSS, continued siege to the residence of former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd) is as a result of the agency wanting to lay their hands on the tape of the secret meeting former INEC chairman Professor Attahiru Jega held with Northern leaders in Dubai which is in Dasuki’s possession. The DSS had on July 9, 2015, on a Thursday, raided Dasuki’s Abuja and Sokoto homes which the agency claimed to be based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State. However, it has been learnt that the tape of the secret meeting Jega had with Northern elders in Dubai in Dasuki’s possession is the reason why the DSS invaded his house. On the 5th of November, three months after raiding his Abuja residence, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) again returned to Sambo’s house. Investigations revealed that the DSS operatives besieged the residence of Dasuki with the intent to prevent him from embarking on a supposed planned trip to the UK for medical treatment. On Tuesday, a court had ruled that Dasuki’s international passport, which was seized by the DSS, should be released to enable him travel abroad for medical treatment which led to the DSS operatives besieging his residence with the intent to prevent him from embarking on a planned trip to the UK for medical treatment. Reports indicate that the DSS is trying to stop Dasuki from taking abroad the tape of Jega’s pre-election secret meeting with Northern elders in Dubai abroad – as the content of the tape is rumored to be whistle-blower on the 2015 Presidential election. Professor Jega Dubai meeting with Northern elders in Dubai had been the basis that calls for Jega’s resignation was tagged on, with some reports before the election indicating that he had submitted his resignation which was rejected by Goodluck Jonathan – based on public outcry which would have followed suit. http://authorityngr.com/2015/11/DSS-After-Dasuki-to-Recover-Tape-of-Jega-s-Pre-Election-Secret-Meeting-with-Northern-Elders/

Politics I fear! Can ds be true?.... From a friend's wall page: Mr Osinbajo's academic qualifications is looking like another certificate forgery. A simple inquiry by Mr. Olawale Igi-iwe Oluwagbeminiyi, has returned the age of our professor of law to be 55 years. He was allegedly called to the bar in 1979, which was 35 years ago. So a deduction of 55 from 35 equals 20 years old. What this implies is that Mr Osinbajo became a certified Lawyer at age 20 after he must have been admitted into the Law School at age 18 and perhaps was there for about 2 years. He allegedly attended the University of Lagos, Unilag for a 5-year law degree. This will bring his age to 13 or 14 years when he got accepted to the University. This seems like another certificate forgery. 1. Accepted to the University of Lagos age 13 or 14 years?? 2. Graduated from the University of Lagos age 18 years after a 5-year degree course in Law?? 3. Graduated from the Law School age 20 years after spending an average of 2 years?? 4. He is 55 years old as of today. The questions remain: 1. At what age did Prof. Osinbajo enter the University of Lagos? 2. At what age did he graduate from the University of Lagos? 3. At what age did he complete the Law School? Note: It is possible for Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to have entered the University of Lagos at age 13 or 14, graduated at age 18 and completed his law school at age 20 and have been practising for 35 years which makes him 55 years old as of today. It also looks suspicious to have received a 13 or 14 years old undergraduates of the University of Lagos in the 1950s. By - donmalcolm21 |

badan - The National Committee of Yoruba Youths on Thursday urged the President-elect, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to continue with the amnesty programme for ex-militants in the Niger Delta Region. This is contained in a issued by the President of the youths, Mr Oladimeji Odeyemi, in Ibadan. The statement stated that call for the discontinuation of the programme was unfortunate. He said that dozens of youths from the region had been transformed through the amnesty programme and were doing well in the society. Odeyemi urged Buhari to sustain the tempo of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and continue with its funding to avoid another youth restiveness. According to him, with the successful implementation of the amnesty programme, our crude oil production hovers between 2.2 million barrels and 2.4million barrels per day. "We call on the incoming administration to sustain the tempo of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and continue with its funding. The outgoing Presidential Amnesty Programme Chairman and Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr .Kingsley Kuku, and his team have turned the amnesty programme into a model to evaluate performance and service delivery. "The amnesty programme in just four years has succeeded in training both locally and offshore, about 20,000 youths out of the 30,000 beneficiaries enlisted in the scheme,’’ he said. Odeyemi said the feat had produced trained manpower to provide services in the oil and gas, power, maritime, agro-allied and the aviation industries in the country. "As at today, almost 20,000 of these beneficiaries are in various institutions abroad while significant numbers are schooling in some of our best private universities in the country. "When these youths are fortified with skills, the Niger Delta and, indeed, Nigeria will not depend on crude oil alone as its source of income,’’ Odeyemi said. - NAN http://www.news24.com.ng/National/News/Dont-scrap-amnesty-programme-Yoruba-youths-beg-Buhari-20150507 |

FROM DAVID ONWUCHEKWA, NNEWI Recent comments attributed to the British High Commission in Nigeria that Britain did not support agitation for Biafra, at the weekend, attracted the ire of the Deputy Chairman of Supreme Council of Elders of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Dr Dozie Ikedife, who said that Britain pretended not to know the plight of people being marginalised in Nigeria. Ikedife said Biafran agitators should ignore the comments, but urged that due process be followed in the pursuit of self-determination to actualize Biafra devoid of violence or anything done outside the law. “Indigenous people of Biafra should ignore the said British comments. Whether they support us or not, we will achieve Biafra even if the whole world says no, there is no going back no matter the odds; so long as there is marginalization, so long there is inequity in infrastructural development, and so long we are relegated to second or third class citizens in this country, we will never stop the quest for Biafra until there is equity and justice,” Ikedife said. He noted that right from the time of amalgamation of Northern and Southern protectorates, through independence that Britain had designed Nigeria to favour the North giving them the opportunity of dominance of other sections of the country. He said that even if the whole world says no to the agitation for self-determination by the indigenous people of Biafra that nothing would stop the actualization. “We know that Britain cannot do anything to disrupt her relationship with Nigeria because of its interest which it believes would be best protected if Nigeria remains as one country. But Scotland was allowed to have a referendum as to whether to remain in the United Kingdom or pull out and Britain granted that. So, in the same analogy, Britain should know that the people of South-South and South East should have the same right of self-determination. You can see the double standard on the part of Britain. “The British stand on this issue of self-determination for the indigenous people of Biafra could be an official statement, but I’m sure that the common man in the streets in Britain will have a different view. The allegations of Britain being in favour of Northern Nigeria are there,” Ikedife said. He opined that the British colonial masters made it clear that Nigeria was built in favour of the North, which he said was designed to dominate the rest of the country. He said that it was not a hidden fact that Britain and some other countries during the Nigeria- Biafra war helped Nigeria because of their interest in Nigeria. “Freedom of speech or association does not allow you to roll out war drums and to say people of a particular ethnic group are animals qualified to be in the zoo. I know that there are many pro-Biafra groups and I am satisfied that there are some of them who consider legal means and diplomatic approach to their pursuit. They are not arrested and nobody can arrest them because they are operating within the law of the land. Biafra cannot be achieved through violence or insulting people with reckless abandon and those who believe in non-violence will not be molested except those who violate the law,” he said. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/we-can-do-without-britain-ikedife/#prettyPhoto/0/

The Police in Delta on Friday used teargas to disperse dozens of pro-Biafra agitators who staged a protest rally in Asaba. The protesters said they were in solidarity with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Some members of the group were arrested for blocking the Asaba-Benin expressway. They chanted songs calling for the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, a member of the Pro –Biafra group. However, a police source said that the arrested members were later released following “an order from above”. Members of the group had poured into the Asaba-Benin expressway, blocking a large portion of the ever-busy road, from Summit Junction to Coker Junction axis in Asaba. The group held up vehicular movement on the road for hours, forcing many transporters to make a U-turn, diverting into Asaba main town, thereby causing a major gridlock. However, police patrol teams from the Delta Police Command confronted the protesters, using tear gas to disperse them. One of the protesters, Mr. Uche Obiakor, said that the police intervention in the rally was injustice to the group, saying that members of IPOB were on a peaceful rally. “What the police did today is a great injustice to the Biafra people because we are not armed neither did we attack anybody. “We are just on a peaceful protest for the unconditional release of our leader, Nnamdi Kanu. “We want Nnamdi Kanu to be set free, and all charges against him dropped unconditionally,“ he said. The spokesperson of the state Police Command, DSP Charles Muka, confirmed the incident on phone . He, however, declined to comment on the arrest and subsequent release of the IPOB members. “What I can tell you is that the police are on top of the situation. We are on it; that is all I can say for now,” Muka said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/police-disperse-pro-biafra-agitators-in-asaba/ |
