no. these graduates are made to work in all the wrong departments. what's an engineer doing in marketing dept.? besides advancing loan to importers of rice , sugar , flour , salt you consider that a worthy invest? that's how all these problems started.

what do you expect from these banks? i knew something like this was bound to happen when banks started employing engineers, doctors, and graduates who majored in yoruba language, literature, chemistry, botany, zoology etc

i prefer to do my downloads in the mornings.

honestly, if i was in Lagos i would have made the switch myself. this starcomms can be very frustrating.

i use a Lenovo Thinkpad T400.

my laptop came with built-in HSPA broadband modem. that's where my MTN data SIM is cooling off. works perfectly in ubuntu.

@Oyb. Security has always been an issue with Windows and always will. That's the way MS wants it.

Windows 7 is still essentially Windows. And is no more secure than Vista. Than means  all the security issues that plagued Vista will still affect it. Study shows enterprises are sticking to XP.

i just decided to connect to the sites you mentioned. i don't have problem connecting to those sites. Infact, any site for that matter.
but starcomms is very bad these days. the connection speed is very frustrating.
i am looking for alternatives now. if they can't do it alone, can't they just put the company up for sale? may be even sell to MTN

well it's nice to see a giant like google parenting a linux distro. the UI just has to be good like OS x or Windows 7 or better.

the only company that can break MS dominance on the desktop is Apple, that is when Apple decides to start licensing its OS to other OEMs. the linux world is too fragmented to pose a formidable challenge. chrome OS will not affect Windows market share in any signifant proportion.
