My brother no be lie....Public Education system in Nigeria has lost its value....It saddens me everyday. Youths are the major victims of atrocities being committed by our fathers in their early years. Rather than for most of them to come together and think of sustainability for the new generations, they end up competing chasing small girls with the younger ones in the name of "Aristo" smh......

i have respect for Nigeria students. Against all odd, they still end up with good grades (most of them anyway). Education is Nigeria is sufferring. From Primary to tertiary institutions.

Travel / Re: China Opens Visa Centre In Abuja by fm001(m): 2:38pm On Sep 19, 2017
Good development...in the same trend with UAE which makes visa application less stressful. Funny Enough UAE new visa application centre is within walking distance from the main Churchgate Plaza.
BloggerDonald:
As Posted By Thisdaylive

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Abuja has opened a new visa application centre in Abuja to facilitate procurement of Chinese visas for Abuja residents and environs.

The centre, located at Churchgate Plaza, Central Business District, will commence operations from September 20, 2017, according to the Deputy Ambassador, Mr. Lin Jing.

Jing said the visa application centre was opened to improve the service standard for applicants but not to harm the procedure.

Speaking to journalists at a media briefing yesterday in Abuja, Jing said: “From Wednesday, all ordinary passport holders wishing to visit the People’s Republic of China are requested to apply for visas at Abuja China Visa Application Centre,”

He however said diplomats and official passport holders or applicants applying for Hong Kong/Macao Special Administrative Region visa/entry permits are to submit their applications directly to the Chinese embassy.

He said another centre would also be opened in Lagos where visa applications would be submitted there.

Jing said nevertheless, application process and duration for visa issuance remain unchanged.

“We have limited resources and facilities and over the past years we have seen visa applicants sweating under the sun shine.

“We have been trying hard to improve our service and make it more comfortable for visa applicants while waiting for their interviews or to submit applications.

“We are happy to announce that China visa application centre will open on September  20, 2017. We hope that with the opening of the centre, we will improve our services for applicants from all walks of life.

“The centre would be located at Churchgate Plaza, Central Business District, Abuja.

“The centre is entrusted to receive visa applications on behalf of the embassy and we have a duty to oversee their operation,” he said.

The envoy reiterated that the decision to approve or disapprove visa applications still resides with the embassy.

He added that successful applicants are also expected to pick their passports from the centre.

The deputy ambassador who disclosed that the new visa application fee is now 31,250 which included service fees and VAT, adding that the application centre is a commercial entity and independent of the Chinese embassy and urged prospective applicants to be patient with the new development.

Career / Re: My Brother Was Sacked And Duped By A Company by fm001(m): 12:22am On Sep 17, 2017
Did ur brother fill the pension form called RSA (Retirement Savings Account ) form from one of the pension fund administrator like stanbic IBTC or others. If he does that, he would have gotten RSA number or pencode which he can use to log into his account online and monitor his payment.
Also, he should have been getting alert via sms or e-mail or both from the PENFUND Administrator (or the bank that his pension is being paid into). If any of these has not been there , he need to report to PENCOM with his first letter of employment, letter of disengagement from the company service and the payment slip for appropriate action.
jdluv:
Straight to the point, last year, my brother got a sack letter from a company he was working for after 3 years with the organization.

Then this month he got another employment. During the process of submitting forms after employment [you know all this guarantor forms, bank statement, etc.] He was asked if he had a pension account which he affirmatively replied. So he submitted the account detail only for the HR To check and find out that no single dime has ever been paid into the account. And for 3 years the company has been deducting a sum of 5k per month for pension. There was even a time he got a silp from the pension office that a sum of 7500 was paid in.

I want to know if there is something he can do or its normal?

doughziay:
I was invited to a church close to my hood and while I was less busy, I decided to attend service this Sunday morning. After the first part of the activities ( praise, worship and prayer) The pastor mounted the pulpit to minister.

He began with introducing the topic to be preached on an started his sermon. After the service, I met him to ask a few questions about what he preached that I wasn't comfortable about and coupled with the fact that he sounded unsure of some bible verses he quoted.

He said he is busy at the moment and directed me to the junior pastor to be attended to, while he was visibly not doing anything. May be he can't stand to be corrected by members . Nobody is infallible. we all make mistakes. I can attribute his flaws to lack of preparation prior to today.

My Question: Have you been able to correct a pastor before and what was his/her reaction?

if u haven't, what made you not do so?
My brother....hope you follow the scriptural ordinance in your manner of passing corrections to the man of God. You need to take a look at what the scripture says as regards correcting an elder in the book of 1 Timothy 5: 1 - " Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brothers" GOD BLESS US

You just nailed it my brother. Nigeria, a country full of lazy bones.......Gbosa for you.
9jakohai:
The problem really is that Nigeria's money is easy money.

In the industrialized world, much of the money they use comes from innovation and industries. In other words.....the sweat of their labour. And in order to earn more of that money, they spend more on making their productive potential improve....and improve well. That is why light is on in their country 24/7, water is clean, and roads and railways work well...and corruption is punished...because nothing must be allowed to impair their productive activity.

In Nigeria, our money is easy come money. We just bring out resources, sell them, and collect the money to share. And when resource A is not working....we go to resource B. That is why we have no light, no water, our roads and rail are bad...because whether those things work or not...it has no impact on our ability to earn money from oil. And that is why looting is som prevalent...because after all it does not matter....we can just simply replace the money stolen with more easy money...plus if I loot N5million, it has no effect on our ability to bring out oil. And that is why we fight over oil money...because we are too lazy to actually work....why should we work....money will come, whether we work or not.

That is why people defend corrupt leaders.....whether they steal money or not....oil money will still flow into the country. And if we betray our leaders, we lose out on the sharing.

Wake up Nigeria...wake up.

North has always being a parasite
Obviously.....you need to reflect on historical perspective on the nation called Nigeria from both pre colonial and post colonial era....where does bulk of farm products come from? Where do we have agricultural practice (Nigeria mainstay of economy before the discovery of crude oil) mostly done on a very commercial state to the tune of exporting these products to other countries. Let's get it clear....The problem is the poor leadership and myopic mindsets that cut across all geopolitical zones.....Believe average Nigerian believe in enriching himself rather than seeking for the country growth as if we exist in isolation from the country. Until we address this....development is far fetched from us..

Funny,
Nigeria especially the core northeners need serious education, every man has a right to his opinion, I always maintain, islam is not the problem of Nigeria and the ancient brain the northerners have, the problem is lack of education and civilization, i served in abuja some years ago and my best friend was a devoted northern muslim, he was really a different person because this guy has attained huge knowledge not just in Nigeria but in two different countries abroad. no wonder the illiterate ones are the ones stoning and killing because of blashemy while the educated ones stay at home watching them on TV. The northern governors should do something about high rate of child birth with little or no means to train them but rather dump them on the streets and they become almajiris begging with plates while their parents are still alive.[/

[quote]
Northern Governors will rather busy giving their people stipends on daily basis in the name of being philanthropic in nature than educating them. This is not a matter of Islam. Islam that i am aware of in places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi is completely different from what i'm seeing here. It is not a religion matter(albeit i'm a christian) but egocentric nature of our leaders who want perpetual slaves for their unborn generations.....

I've been emphasizing on this before now. I see no reason why we should go for something that can not benefit citizens in terms of employment generation, technology transfer, sustainability of the economy. We can not grow when we count on these so called Westerners for help. Growth can only come within. We can be only instrument that can build this nation. Most foreigners mean no well for us.
