Manchester United have made initial contact with Fulham over the potential signing of Ryan Sessegnon, Sky Sports News understands.

Tottenham and Juventus are also understood to be interested in the youngster, who will turn 19 on Saturday, but United are the only team to have approached Fulham so far.

Sessegnon is understood to be reluctant to play another season in the Championship following Fulham's relegation after just one term in the top flight, and United want to add young home-grown talent to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

And there is understood to be an acceptance at Fulham that the time maybe right to let Sessegnon move on, especially given he has just one year remaining on his contract.

Sessegnon had a difficult first season in the Premier League, having been instrumental in Fulham's promotion campaign of 2017-18. He was in and out of the side under Claudio Ranieri, who succeeded Slavisa Jokanovic last November, and played on the right-wing under Ranieri's successor Scott Parker to accommodate Ryan Babel.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made plenty of headlines since arriving in Major League Soccer, but after one too many of those headlines was negative, MLS officials have stepped in and issued some punishment on the Swedish star.

MLS has suspended Ibrahimovic for two matches for grabbing New York City FC goalkeeper Sean Johnson by the throat during NYCFC's 2-0 win against the Galaxy last Saturday. Ibrahimovic will miss the Galaxy's match against the winless Colorado Rapids on Sunday and then the club’s visit to Orlando City on May 24.

Ibrahimovic and Johnson were issued yellow cards during the match. The league’s disciplinary committee has now cited Ibrahimovic for violent conduct, for what the committee deemed to be a malicious act. The suspension was announced on Friday evening.

That incident wasn't the first controversial moment for Ibrahimovic in recent weeks.

He made headlines on April 28 for a trash-talking incident with Real Salt Lake defender Nedum Onuoha. The two opponents exchanged words during the match, including Ibrahimovic gloating in Onuoha's face after scoring the eventual winning goal.

After the match, Ibrahimovic went to the Real Salt Lake locker room, presumably to offer an olive branch to Onuoha, but the RSL defender rejected the forward’s visit and criticized him for trash talking and making threats during the match. Onuoha also suggested that Ibrahimovic is allowed to get away with behavior that other players wouldn't.

Shehu Sani, Senator representing Kaduna Central has reacted to Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) over his statement on Marijuana market in Nigeria.

Akeredolu had urged the Federal Government to beam focus into the medicinal cannabis industry as parts of measures to diversify the country’s economy.

Akeredolu said Ondo State, which is known for its fertile land for the cultivation of cannabis will make judicious use of the Thailand’s program, which he said is centred around exploiting the possibility of medicinal cannabis.

But in reaction, Sani pleaded with Akeredolu to invest the state’s resources in something more meaningful than the proposed Indian hemp farm.

However, Sowore in a response to Sani’s tweet, asked the Sani if he was aware that he could benefit from hair products locally made from the cannabis.

“I hate to stand between two Nigerian politicians engaging asinine argument but I am disappointed in you for this tweet.

“Have you ever thought of it that when this idea finally gains legal ground your Afro hair could benefit from a locally produced line of cannabis hair products?” Sowore tweeted.

Responding to Sowore, Sani on his Twitter page wrote: “My Friend @YeleSowore, my hair doesn’t need that marijuana to glow.

“I wish you, Governor Akeredolu and Majek all the best ;if you succeed, then you are right. When we meet we will debate it"
