PoliticsRe: ADC Coalition ‘Train’ Still Moving Despite Obi, Others’ Exit — Paul Ibe by Focusmind: 9:40am On May 04
Atiku is coming to NDC to meet Obi there undecided

I am very suspicious of this Obi and Kwankwaso moves

Are they working for the big masquared?
BusinessRe: UK Watchdog Fines Guaranty Trust Bank £7.6m Over Money-Laundering Controls by Focusmind: 9:27am On May 04
All these UK regulators are usually mean when it comes from banks that are located in developing countries

Just imagine slamming a fine of 7.6m pounds on GT Bank for regulatory infractions. Something they cannot do to their own local banks.

If we do same to any of their entities here, they will report to the PM and the house of commons and those guys would put pressure on our government to rescind the decision.

The fine was quite excessive in my own opinion. undecided

These regulators would always find a way to make money for His majesty revenue and customs
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Leaves ADC For NDC by Focusmind: 2:50pm On May 03
Atiku is coming to NDC! You must contest the primaries with Atiku undecided
PoliticsRe: Obi, Kwankwaso Set To Join NDC Next Week by Focusmind: 1:59pm On May 02
Obi and Kwankwaso are BAT's mole in the opposition. These happenings have long been planned. NDC will be like Labour Party of 2023 that divided PDP votes. NDC will divide ADC's votes, there by giving the ticket to PBAT.

I wonder how obidients and Kwankwasiya expect to defeat PBAT in an election that is organised by PBAT. Atiku would be extremely disappointed in Obi.
CrimeRe: Nigerian Man Convicted Of Rape In The UK, Lawmaker Seeks Death Penalty (Photo) by Focusmind: 2:47pm On May 01
These British lawmakers are funny. The guy is British and not Nigerian. See how his nationality was mentioned as if it was because he was a Nigeria. The British system and society has built their value system around him.

If he was just an immigrant that migrated to the UK, he would have lost his deportation case. He won the right to stay because he was born British and grew up British.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Invited To The U.S. To Speak At Congress by Focusmind: 12:59pm On May 01
It wasn't the US Congress that invited him. He was just extended invitation by a low ranking member of the Congress, who may likely lobby for Atiku, to discuss informally with some members of house committees and others on matters of urgent public importance
Nairaland GeneralRe: Egbin Power Plant Shuts Down After Contractor Dies During Underwater Repairs by Focusmind: 5:44am On May 01
bentenny:
This is why most experts go with their team and ensure some of them are stationed where the operational switch is to ensure nothing is touched during their repairs until they are done!
Rip to the contractor!
This is the best standard of practice. But some contracting firms in Nigeria are NOT compliant with standard safety procedures for their staff in out-of-station work.

During my NYSC, I worked with a power generator sales and service firm. A company called for the maintenance of armoured cable that lead from the genhouse to the main building. We were three that went from the firm for the repair.

I was with the main engineer that was doing the fixing, as I was supporting him with his tools. The other guy was stationed at the change over room. After sometimes, the security gate man of the building that wasn't around when we came, returned and was heading to the change over room to change to NEPA, unaware that work was going on, as there was light in the building next to the one we were working on. But our third that was stationed there shouted at him that work was going on,on the other side of the building.

Imagined if our third person wasn't around in that changing room, the security guy would have powered on the building why our main engineer was still holding and working on the armoured cable
PoliticsRe: Kwankwasiyya Visits Obidient Headquarters, Signals 2027 Collaboration by Focusmind: 9:27am On Apr 30
Under which party? undecided

There will not be any opposition contestant in the next year's election, except if the Supreme court decides otherwise.

Sowere may likely be the only major opposition contestant against BAT next year.

I doubt if the Supreme Court's judgement on the ADC matter will be different from the judgements delivered by the lower court.

The best strategy is to move into other parties before the due deadline.

Kwankwaso would be regretting his exit from the NNPP

He would have use NNPP to accommodate ADC members and build strong leverage.

I am sure if Kwankwaso was still in NNPP, he would have asked the ADC guys to move and the ADC would have adopted his party without any issue.
CrimeRe: ASP Nuhu Usman Arrested For Killing Mene Ogidi by Focusmind: 12:05pm On Apr 29
Very barbaric from that Usman of a guy

I hope he did not do that to shield some powerful interests or to cover up an even greater crime

The manner and speed with which he fired at that guy, someone that did not pose any immediate threat, was suspicious

I hope the police inspector is not part of kidnapping syndicate, fearful that the victim may spill the beans.
Foreign AffairsRe: Iran Offers To Reopen Strait Of Hormuz, End War If US Lifts Blockade by Focusmind: 7:40pm On Apr 27
NEVER underestimate the impact of economic blockade on any nation

Land, sea and air blockades could have disastrous consequences on any country.

Iran underestimated Trump's threat and thought he wouldn't double down on his threat.

Blockade effectively brings an economy of any country to a halt as economic activities dwindles.

Economic blockade by the federal Nigerian government during the civil war effectively crippled the Biafra government and brought the total collapse of its economy.

If this blockade on Iran continues, the economic woes would be disastrous

Note that sanctions is different from economic blockade, especially sea blockade.
PoliticsRe: Backlash As Nigeria Drops $32.8 Million Meta Fine Over Data Breach by Focusmind: 3:01pm On Apr 27
I knew it wont work

If it was an EU regulator, then, there may be an iota of chance that it would be paid

It is difficult for countries outside the US, EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Japan to fine a US tech firm or an EU tech firm.

The general belief is that regulators in developing countries are weak and are moved by corruption and corrupt tendencies to act.
Foreign AffairsRe: German Chancellor Merz Says US ‘Being Humiliated By The Iranian Leadership’ by Focusmind: 2:28pm On Apr 27

Siasia has a corruption badge around his neck but seems better qualified for the job
PoliticsRe: Change Of Guard: Wale Edun Hands Over To Taiwo Oyedele by Focusmind: 7:43pm On Apr 24
Finally, Sleepy Wale Edun is leaving undecided

The man lacks spark as a Finance minister.

Always looking like someone that just woke up from sleep

Taiwo is more eloquent and understands the Nigerian economy better.

A thorough bred professional with understanding of the workings of the informal sector.
PoliticsRe: Kenyan President Hits Back At Tinubu, Mocks Nigerians by Focusmind: 4:35am On Apr 24
President Ruto made little sense with his defence but faltered when he brought the English profiency comparison, which was not necessary. He should have stucked with economic indicators in comparing the two countries. I am sure Tinubu himself didn't know when he mentioned Kenya in his speech in Bayelsa.
PoliticsRe: PDP National Working Committee Moves To Revive Long Abandoned Building Project by Focusmind: 8:53pm On Apr 21
PDP thought that they would be in power forever and started a giant structure.

The construction was paused in 2015 after the party lost out in the general elections. undecided

Daddy Sam and Wike wants to revive the moribund edifice.

Wike may commit funds as usual, as the Patron Saint of PDP undecided
PoliticsRe: FG Votes ₦1.4 Billion For Boko Haram Terrorists’ Trial by Focusmind: 6:03am On Apr 20

Christianity EtcRe: How Premier League Stars, Others, Are Inspiring A "Quiet Revival" Among Gen Z by Focusmind: 12:41pm On Apr 19
The radical leftist FIFA wouldn't want anything religious but would gladly identify with LGQT people and their symbols. Very soon, they will ban players from making the sign of the cross after scoring a goal or kneeling to nod their fore heads on the pitch like Moslems.
CelebritiesRe: Veteran Broadcaster Temisan Okomi Is Dead by Focusmind: 8:15pm On Apr 17
naptu2:
They are just trolling.

I saw Temisan for the first time on one of the private TV stations in Lagos in the early 2000s. That's more than 20 years ago. Since then he has worked at Silverbird TV, Lagos Television, HiTV, Supersport and Classic FM/Lagos Talks.

He is a veteran.
......with these rich experiences, someone here had the mind to question why the late TV star was addressed as a "veteran". undecided
CelebritiesRe: Veteran Broadcaster Temisan Okomi Is Dead by Focusmind: 4:33pm On Apr 17
pek:
The word veteran has lost its meaning
What do you mean??

10 to 20 years of active service in a particular field makes one a veteran, if you rise through the ranks.

Me o, I am a veteran in my own field. I can hold my own. It is a badge of honor and service.
EducationRe: Video Of The Interior Of Vetland School, A Government School by Focusmind: 11:09am On Apr 17
Lots of smart chaps are in public schools while lots of dumb people are in a highly-rate private school

I saw one guy walked past where I was doing road walk, reading his book with all seriousness - it seems some of them in public schools in Lagos are writing their exams.

I engage him and found out that he is a science student and my conversations with him showed someone that is smart and has grip of his physics subject
CrimeRe: Woman Jailed For Forging NAFDAC Employment Letter To Obtain UK Visa by Focusmind:
Ironfaceman:
This is double standard. Why sentence Remilekun Temitope Balogun-Okedeyi to prison for forgery.

While the Nigeria Senate had passed a law that forgery is no longer an offence.

Remilekun Temitope Balogun-Okedeyi should hire a good lawyer and challenge the verdict.
Honestly, you no well grin grin grin

The forgery in this contest by the national assembly relates ONLY to candidates that have been declared winner in an election. The court can no longer use evidence of forged certificate to overturn an election victory - You see the kind of people ruling us in this country undecided undecided undecided

They have invariably, validated the use of forged certificates for elections for themselves.
PoliticsRe: 2027: Which Combo Will Defeat Tinubu By 12 Noon? by Focusmind: 5:01pm On Apr 16
Validated:
Atiku - Obi
Obi - Kwankwaso

Let's be objection our analysis and disregard personal and parochial and primordial sentiments.
I don't why you guys keep deceiving yourselves and day dreaming undecided Defeating Tinubu before 12 noon, as in what huh

Obidients always seems to be full of unrealistic expectations.

Elections are not on the social media or how vocal you are online. The real voters are on the streets without access to these kinds of conversations.

He came to Nigeria, during the last NBA conference in Enugu and enjoyed himself.

Nigeria gave him a big publicity that the SA media picked up and was surprised at the reception given to him in Nigeria

He used that his visit to Nigeria to market himself and project an image of a Pan African freedom fighter

PoliticsRe: ADC Concludes National Convention, Amends Constitution (Video, Pictures) by Focusmind: 12:59pm On Apr 15
Kwakwanso would be wondering which kind wahala be this undecided

As he ported from his NNPP, ADC got involved in big mess

He would have used his NNPP as a leverage and a rallying point for the opposition.

ADC members would have considered Kwakwanso's NNPP if their own problem lingered on but that is no more as the main man has also joined them.

I wonder how these guys expect to pull a surprise on BAT without having any sitting governor in their fold?

Forget the 2023 where Obi won some states without having a sitting governor.

APC and BAT would not allow the kind of perceived "freedom" allowed under Buhari

PoliticsRe: Amupitan’s Past Tweets Show An APC Sympathizer- Kperogi by Focusmind: 1:41pm On Apr 11
The man made a big mistake by futile attempts to hide his identity and posts on twitter. He should simply have owned to them and heaven would not fall. He could simply claim it was in the past, and as a private citizen, he was allowed to support any political party. Knee-jack reaction has a way of exposing someone even further to what he was trying to hide.
