maasoap: You are right. Nigerian system is not structured to harness the talents of her citizens. Lots of talents are utilising their talents in other countries. Our educational system should be geared towards more productivity and the system should be able to reward exceptional talents like Ositade. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Crime / Re: IG Wants NSCDC, FRSC Merged With Police by Focusmind: 8:20am On Apr 23 |
Even Road safety people are now becoming a nuisance. People that should be patrolling the federal high ways to rescue accidents victims, will be somewhere, hidden in an inner city, stopping private vehicles for one stupid papers. They are just becoming annoying. People will be on their way to work, you will be stopping their cars and be searching for rubbish. I was happy when El Rufai and Ambode banished them from the city and States Roads. They are now back everywhere in Lagos, disturbing motorists. They should be on the high way, rescuing people and inspecting public transportation vehicles. 1 Like |
Crime / Re: Five Children Die In Abandoned Car In Niger by Focusmind: 8:12am On Apr 23 |
The carelessness of some parents in Nigeria, especially those at the bottom of the pyramid will want you to beat some of them. Poverty doesn't take away common sense. These people could be too careless and dumb. One was selling something in the market and her kids were just everywhere, roaming around without control. Keke almost killed one. Don't just leave your kids to the streets because you are hustling. Who asked you to bring them before? You should have continued with your hustle and allow them to be were they were. Some people have bastardized parenting in this country because they are poor. If you can't train your children properly, don't bother procreating. It is not a competition. Don't born and expect someone to train them for you. If you are poor , just face your Poverty alone. Don't bring children to follow you in your Poverty. We already have lots of idiots and armed robbers, who were from poor and broken homes. 1 Like |

This is a genius! His intelligence is inborn. Not necessarily about his secondary school. Though the school may have tried. The sad truth is, at the end, the Western world will benefit from the intelligence of this Nigerian more than Nigeria itself. That's the sad reality of the Nigerian State. Definitely, he is going to either Harvard or Brown University for the computational physics, which has no bearing with Nigeria, as our economy is not structured to accommodate that kind of skill. |

Even when Nigeria was the largest, it was not felt, talk more when it is now projected to be 4th The current positions of countries seemed more like it. I always considered SA as the biggest economy in Africa, irrespective of the basis of classification of the ranking. You cannot be the biggest economy in Africa and have greater percentage of your population living in abject poverty without access to power, water, sanitation and basic necessities of life. 6 Likes |

Lots of people have been defrauded by BDCs. Do NOT just transfer huge sums to them. They should bring the money physically with you to the bank. As you are crediting him with NGN, he is paying the USD to the cashier at the counter, to count and take out any counterfeit or mutilated USD or even any note with mark on it. I dont know why people transfers huge millions to BDC person and wait for him to credit their dom accounts. What if the BDC guy absconds? 7 Likes 1 Share |

Most Nigerian hospital do not understand what emergency is. Pray not to be rushed to hospital in Nigeria Lastly, do not argue with a Nigerian law enforcement officer with a gun. Just humble yourself and sort yourself out and move on. Once this guy is buried, live goes on with the Nigerian police force as if nothing happened. Highest, they will remand the killer in custody till thy kingdom come. RIP, Man 1 Like |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Quitting A Job Within A Month: Share Your Experience by Focusmind: 7:42am On Apr 21 |
Meerahbel: I had to quit this kind of madness, 10 years ago. It was a great company, with great pay. A well known investment bank. Saved as much as I could, invested much of my savings into getting my place. After working, with good savings, I set up my own independent consulting firm in the same job functions I was handling. The money may not be flowing as it was coming as a regular staff, but my quality of life is top notch. The little fees I am earning from my consulting is paying my bills and I work at my own pace from my house. At this my level, being a billionaire is not my dream, but being able to earn a descent income and be in a good shape of health. My former colleague that remained have all risen to their respective levels and some have continued to support my consulting business with referrals. Status wise, i don't see much difference between me and them. Some of them have also japaed and are in various places around the world. I can't compromise quality of life, freedom and attention to my family on anything. It is early sunday morning now and I am heading to my usual road workout with friends, to be back by 9:40a.m and take my kids to children's Sunday Mass by 10am 9 Likes |

I thought he was protesting against the ordeals Mr. Trump is going through. I thought he was a trump supporter. If that he was supporter of Trump and he set himself on fire, to show anger towards the government, Trump and his supporters would have made a hero out of the guy and canonise him. |

They should just get the job done! We like pictures and theatrical things too much. We should have passed the stage of using improvised pick-up vans as fighting armoury. We are expected to be in the era of using tanks, equipped with high calibre munitions and communication gadgets going by annual security budgets. The era of Toyota mounted machine guns should have passed by now 1 Like |
Crime / Re: Brazilian Woman Wheels Corpse Into Banking Hall To ‘sign Off’ A Loan In Her Name by Focusmind: 6:46am On Apr 20 |
She must have told the bank that the signatory to the account was in a vegetative state and the bank insisted that the account owner must be the one to sign off. Banks can tell you to go and bring a relative in the hospital or under a stroke to sign a document. I don't think he was dead. He may be seriously ill and vegetative. |

Family / Re: The Number Of Children Living As Servants By State - StatiSense 2021 by Focusmind: 4:45pm On Apr 19 |
I don't know why Anambra people are "protesting" against this statistics. Most homes in Anambra have one maid or the other, from Ebonyi, Calabar or Akwaibom. The statistics was not about the indigenes. It was about family homes with maid servants, umu-boi and other hired servants. There is nothing wrong with the stat. The same thing is happening in Lagos among the Anambrians. I have not seen any growing Anambra family without a maid servant or nwa-boi. Maid servant and nwa-boi system are very common in Anambra culture. It is not a CRIME! 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Bayo Onanuga Advises Yahaya Bello To Turn Himself In, Get A Good Lawyer by Focusmind: 6:49am On Apr 19 |
Bayo should sit down. Why dabble into this matter? By his actions, he is implicating the presidency as the masteeminder of Bello's arrest. He should not have made any comment so that people will not view Bello's issue as being orchestrated from the presidency. No wonder the presidency hesitated in giving him any appointment after the elections. They knew he may likely put the presidency in trouble by his unguarded utterances |

My biggest disappointment is Victor Umeh. He is representing my senatorial district and his impact has not been felt. It is not to be wearing long red cap and answering, "Ohamadike" with nothing to show. His constituency is under the menace of gully erosion and he has not sponsored any environmental bill or attracted federal agencies to tackle the environmental disaster within Anambra central senatorial district |
Politics / Re: LASG Initiates Removal Of Illegal Properties To Prevent Flooding by Focusmind: 3:26pm On Apr 16 |
Sleekfingers: Most traders extends their search for vacant plots to those areas you mentioned. Most of them live along those axis you mentioned. I know because lots of my town's people ply their trades along that corridor and lives there. Most are rich and in search of empty plots to build their houses. You won't tell them to come to Epe, Ikorodu or Ajah to buy land or areas far from their businesses. How will they commute to their places of business? My advice for them is to always get authentic land and confirm same from Alausa, using well-known land lawyers instead of relying on Omoniles. |

She is now more popular in death than when alive . The money spent by government in this her burial is far higher than what she would have been paid in the hustle she went for that claimed her life. RIP Abigirl. Your death may mark a turnaround for your immediate family and they will live to remember that you were the one that changed their fortune. |

To build in Lagos these days, you just have to shine your eyes very well. I pity those traders along Ojo - Alaba axis. They will always wants to get land close to their businesses to build. They are usually the culprits and casualties in most demolitions along that axis. 6 Likes |
