Public Service could be funny in this country. You went to do presentation to the Board Management with your Oga, and your Oga asked you to do presentation to the company's board of directors. Where is it done? When I was in the banking sector, I have gone for high-level presentations with my Executive Director before Management. My job would be to print the slides, check numbers for accuracy for my ED, ensured all supporting documents were in order, serially arranged and well-referenced, the audience's copies printed, and their email received on time to forward the soft copies to them.

My ED took up the responsibilities of presentation and explaining facts behind the figures and projections, while I kept changing slides for him and shared any supporting documents the audience or board would want to see.

Here, two pot-belly Deputy Director Controllers, sandwiched a mere Custom Controller, and asked him to do a job the overall Controller General of Custom ought to have done himself. SMH.

Properties / Re: Encroachments: Lagos To Demolish Illegal Structures In Sangotedo, Ago Palace by Focusmind: 5:50pm On Jun 24
Ago Palace Way? Wahala dey o! So, those mighty mansions in Ago, near canal are about to go down. They should go and collect back their money from the Osolo of Isolo, that sold most of the land to them.

What of those people that sells "fufu" (akpu) wrapped in nylon? Do you know what they use to preserve that "fufu'"?

Any fufu that was not pounded the normal way after boiling the cassava tubers, I am not eating. Lots of people are using killer agents to preserve their wares, endangering people's lives.

Many children in Nigeria do not know what it means to be a child. From one trauma to another; from one abuse to another; from one neglect to another, even from their supposedly parents or guardian.

Crime / Re: Lagos: Killers Use Okada To Run Over Body After Murdering Man In Broad Daylight by Focusmind: 11:20am On Jun 22
These Northern bike guys could be deadly. I do everything to avoid them. There was time I had altercation with one, he threatened me that he would wait for me with his friends and stab me. He said he knows me and sees me all the time leaving for work early morning. Then, I used to leave my house around 4:30 in the morning to meet up with the staff bus. I didn't take the threat likely and I quietly made peace. For him to even reminded me that he usually knew my movements at that dangerous time in the morning made me had a rethink. Very devilish people. Early morning, you see them sleeping in front of people's shop and on top of their bikes.

Rescue and no exchange of fire or description of the operation that lead to the Rescue? I trust the Lebanese.....they wouldn't even waste time before paying for the ransom. They cherish life so much. However, that boat captain needs to be investigated. This may be insider job.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Senegal Joins Oil-producing Countries, Begins Production by Focusmind: 6:07pm On Jun 17
New oil producing countries are learning from Nigeria's mistake. Very soon, production from those countries will eclipse Nigeria as more investors moves in to discover more fields. I hope the Nigeria's indigenous companies acquiring the assets the IOCs abandoned are equal to the task of improving production.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Greek Coastguard Threw Migrants Overboard To Their Deaths, Witnesses Say by Focusmind: 4:29pm On Jun 17
I am not a "white worshipper" but their humanity and compassionate nature is far better than what we see in our country and continent. You will be amazed at the care those refugees and migrants gets in Greece, Italy and Spain. Care that those migrants never got in their home countries. Their may be some hardliners within the security apparatuses of those EU countries, which is understandable but that doesn't take away the fact that EU in general has been more receptive and accommodating to migrants than other people.

SMH!!!! Nigerians and religion

One of the man's sticker that I normally see in people's shops and buses says, "If you monitor me, you will die". Nigerian pastors are too funny.
They can use any format to hold people on the juggler.

Foreign Affairs / Re: G7 Agrees $50bn Loan For Ukraine From Russian Assets by Focusmind: 5:00pm On Jun 14
The impact of this war on Russia is enormous. Russia underestimated the resolve of the West to support Ukraine. US is the undisputed superpower. As long as they are the ones printing and controlling the dollar, forget it, they will keep dolling it out to whoever they want. As long as dollar is controlling the world trade, US has upper hand in any economic or military confrontation with Russia. I am sure Putin is tired of this war but doesn't know how to end it. Russia may not get back up to 20% of their frozen assets after the war. Their own companies are suffering as they can't trade with other countries as some companies in other countries are afraid of US sanctions

Hello house,
Please what’s the job prospect for someone that is about to go for Masters in Education in Canada, although, the person already had B.Ed?

It's better you go for masters in early childhood education or post graduate certificate in early childhood education or even a 2 year diploma in early childhood education. This will be nice if you are lady. People should be selective with course of study in Canada these days for better job prospects. I see lots of people going to study courses that are of no value after graduation or courses where the competition for jobs is stiff or where you have to compete for jobs with the locals.

Rubbish and waste of time

If you do head count, majority of those adults voted for this current administration

Because they voted for the administration, they shouldn't protest if things aren't going as promised? Are they not better than some people that are defending government in the midst of overwhelming anger? People should not be insulted because of the decision they made in the last election. The economy would still have been like this if any of the top three candidates had won. The foundation of the current economic predicament was laid under Buhari

Business / Re: Tolaram Group To Acquire 58.02% Shares In Guinness Nigeria by Focusmind: 2:50pm On Jun 11
The Indians are coming. By 2050, Indian companies would have bought over all the multinational companies in Nigeria and establish themselves as the biggest investors in Nigeria with strong influence. Indians, Chinese and the Lebanese are all taking positions in the Nigeria's corporate environment. I hope the Indians won't reduce the quality of Guinness or start doing satchet Guinness. They are experts in "satchetization" of consumer goods.

Politics / Re: EFCC Recovers Billions In Assets For Oil Magnate, Arthur Eze by Focusmind: 10:35am On Jun 11
Agadinaagwuofe:

At the bolded, I understand the point you are making, but at his age he should be having a re-aligned focus of creating more legacy when he leaves. He doesn't need vendetta to prove a point that he can "deal with them" even though he has the power. His focus should be to take as many people as he can out of poverty, that is a reason to treat it with kids glove. If he is still a young man I might not have issues but as an old man he should be taking most disservice, ill treatment against him with simple wave of hand and not seeking retaliation. I really don't think his relatives and community can steal enough from him that can collapse him, he should have punish them with less force.

I agreed with you. He should have let go. How will his brothers see him? Definitely those guys are his nephews, which means he is a brother to their father.
Politics / Re: EFCC Recovers Billions In Assets For Oil Magnate, Arthur Eze by Focusmind: 7:10am On Jun 11
Agadinaagwuofe:

Yes they are his nephews, I heard he has forgiven them but I am sure he wants to recover all they stole from him. I don't support them stealing from him but I don't think he still needs all these properties recovered. I agree with you he should have seek for out of court settlement but Arthur Eze na hardman wey no dey gree until he takes his pound of flesh.

Sometimes, you have to be strong and unapologetic with relatives in certain occasions. If you don't take time, they are the ones that will wreck you. It's very common within my community, where relatives have contributed to the collapse of once thriving business or individual's project

Politics / Re: Nigerians Will Decide If Atiku Or Obi Will Be PDP’s Candidate In 2027 – Bafarawa by Focusmind: 4:04pm On Jun 09
PDP should forget about power. They messed up their opportunity in 2023, despite Buharis aloofness in APC. I believed that, if PDP had won, Buhari would have gladly handed over to Atiku. But Atiku and his associates thought that they would have a walkover in the 2023 election. They should wait till 2031 yo try their luck because BAT is not letting go power in 2027.
Politics / Re: My Visit To Chinua Achebe's Residential House Ogidi, Anambra State(video&photos) by Focusmind: 3:59pm On Jun 09
I wished my state, Anambra, was well planned. It would have rivalled any city in Africa in terms of high rise buildings. This Ogidi was a remote village in the 80s. But the rise of prosperous Onitsha as a home of business and enterprise in Anambra has grown uncontrollable that it has swallowed neighbouring towns like Oba, Nkpor, Obosi, Nkwelle and Ogidi. Even Asaba in Delta has benefited from the spill over from Onitsha. Anambra seems to be the most urbanised in Nigeria. Government should do well to provide good inner roads and create more access road. The people would take care of other infrastructural development.

If this is true, the guy may be innocent. Just unfortunate that the girl died in his house. I have carried a lady in my car and she started convulsing or had an episode. It happened to her for like 10mins and she came back to life again, while I was trying to figure out the nearest hospital. Imagine if she had died in my car?
