Politics / Re: Soyinka Is An Embarrassment To His Admirers – Patience Jonathan by FolaAribilola: 1:05pm On Jul 13, 2013
Most of those dat comments on d above topic are too small to talk, infact d NL blog is becoming something else. How old are these NLanders talking any how to d Prof. , let me take d NL to memory lane do u know who is Prof. Wole Soyinka was in d '70s even during d military era of Gowon/ Muritala/ Obasanjo, how old was president GEJ n His wife then. For PDJ and her ants called PRO to talk to an elder state man of Prof. Soyinka, one who only talk on national issues in a critical moments. Enough is enough, pride comes before downfall Mr. President shld call his wife to order and all his praise singers otherwise God forbid let what befall Arab world not begin wt our dear country Nigeria between now and 2015. Africans have decorum and whosoever goes against it there is always a punishment for them. Even if elders are wrong its not proper for d younger ones to be abusive, civilisation/education doesn't erode african customs. So pls d Nairalanders shld thread wt caution. Have taking time to check d average age of most NLs they are 26.5yrs and so none in my own opinion av d political knowledge of ds country, hence let's be very careful d manner at which we express our opinions on blogs.
Politics / Re: MKO Abiola: How He Died - Dr Ore Falomo by FolaAribilola: 8:47pm On Jun 12, 2013
My take on this issue is that many of NLanders that commented were too young when the incident happened so they comments anyhow. 1. No matter what we do in this country without restitution, nigeria as a country won't move forward (as a xtian pls read old testament well about kingdoms n their rulers both bad and good and see what becomes their reigns, same for muslims). 2.the democracy wiLl enjoying today is as a result of June 12 1993 otherwise d military juntas would av continue ruling us as far as they do the binding of d western powers. 3. The 2nd coming to power of chief Obasanjo was the fall out of june 12. We have not fair as a country if in d mist of plenty over 70% nigerians live below poverty line, hundreds of thousand graduates seeking less than 10% jobs yet a Govt. boosting dey av created
jobs, where r d jobs (d country is sitting on d time bomb dat will do nobody good be it rich, average or poor let's learnt from syria, egypt, Tunisia etc). In conclusion, yoruba adage says 20 lads can not play n dine for 20 years also if lies is told for years/century one day d truth will catch up with it- what will you be remembered for (adieu to d madiba of south africa- Nelson Mandela is a great african leader dat nigeria/ nigerians must learn from).

Politics / Re: What Are The Three Arms Of Government And Their Symbols Of Authority? by FolaAribilola: 2:16pm On Jun 12, 2013
@ Toluxa1: The symbol of executives arm of Government is coat of arm (dat eagle wt two horses) on d president/governors' offices(state houses) as well as on their vehicles,I stand to be corrected.
Politics / Re: 7 PDP Governors To Float Party by FolaAribilola: 9:21pm On Jun 09, 2013
My take on ds is dat no presidential candidate Can win wtout getting votes from other regions of d country. So either pdp or opposition party d game plan is how much you r able to woo pple / votes to ur side during elections. 2ndly, if opposition want to defeat d ruling party, den let dem present a sellable candidate n for once let d leaders bury their egos n work together to achieve d set goal. 3rdly most of d NLders r too small to comments on nigeria politics, as their comments shows dat they don't know d history of ds country (what dey witness in 2011 general election is a child's play to what will happen in 2015). He who has hears let him hear.
Politics / Re: Fashola Sues Jang Faction Of NGF by FolaAribilola: 1:11pm On Jun 02, 2013
Thank you Governor Fashola

If this behaviour of Jonathan and Jang is not checked it will set a very dangerous precedent.

Jonathan will loose again in court!

I quiet agreed wt d above, some of NL just post comments wtout thinking, we need to be careful wt d Nigeria politics. It has become PDP tradition in stealing mandate we all know what happened in 2007 elections in Osun, ekiti & Edo states it was court dat decided d true winners in those states, hence Gov Fashola SAN has done what is wright( pro Ameachi has done well by not heating d politics). 2 d history is not far in 2012 january on oil subsidy- remember NGF were wt FG in policy making as a stakeholder on d issue. 3 during president Yar'adua demised av dey forgotten NGF were fully involved among other stakeholders. Finally just becos someone interest
Is at stake he decides to break NGF by supporting what is unjust. Fellow Nigerians & NL shine ur eyes n stand for what is fare, just n truth above all d rule of law. Am not a party card member or into politics but let d rule of law guide our doings for future generation so that everyone will be proud to be a Nigerian n also av a sense of belonging.

Politics / Re: 15 Pro-jang Govs Open New NGF Secretariat by FolaAribilola: 4:57am On Jun 01, 2013
[quote author=miklos23]Determined to exert its control over the umbrella body of governors in the country, Governor Jonah Jang-led faction of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) yesterday opened a new secretariat in Abuja

Roll call of governors who witnessed yesterday’s opening ceremony include: Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Idris Wada (Kogi), Garba Umar (Taraba), Martin Elechi (Ebonyi), Muktar Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Theodore Orji (Abia), Peter Obi (Anambra), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), and the deputy governors of Benue, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Plateau and Gombe states. The factional chairman, Governor Jang, was also present.

The one-storey building factional NGF secretariat was unveiled at 5.30pm yesterday, with the chairman of the faction, Governor Jang of Plateau State, saying, “In the name of our Maker, the Almighty, I commission this Nigeria Governors’ Forum secretariat. From today, our activities will be carried out here; from today, anything you want about the NGF, this is where you will get it.”

The factional Director-General of the NGF, Osaru Onaiwu, had earlier said the secretariat had hoisted flags of all the political parties at the secretariat to reflect the parties in the NGF. The unveiling of the plaque was followed by inspection of the new secretariat led by the chairman and other state governors.

The ceremony, however, culminated in a closed door meeting at 6.00pm. Daily Newswatch learnt that yesterday’s ceremony was preceded by a meeting at the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, before the governors moved to the venue. The governors of Delta, Kogi, acting governor of Taraba, Ebonyi and Kaduna states were among the early arrivals and had to wait for close to an hour before their colleagues joined them.

Indications that there was a meeting before the event emerged when the governors of Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Plateau and the deputy governor of Gombe State arrived at the same time.

The Jang-led faction of NGF had before yesterday meeting held its inaugural meeting at the Benue State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, where the group pledged to work with President Goodluck Jonathan.

They indicated then that they would move to a new secretariat and lauded the creation of the PDP Governors’ Forum, headed by Governor Akpabio, while praising other governors in the country for supporting Jang. Ds is total rubbish stupid of highest order, when did NGF becomes an association dat they now av office. It then shows that Jang led NGF are d losers who want to be relevant in the scheme of things. My candid advise to Nigerians is that we shld shine our eyes for 2015 and elect credible leaders not good for nothing ones who will spend their time on roforofo polictricks n papa deceive picking kind of politics. End of discussion , lobatan gbam.
Politics / Re: 35 Governors Voted During NGF Election – Fayemi by FolaAribilola: 9:38pm On May 27, 2013
karl max: jang whetin 24 hours called for NGF meeting 18 out of the 35 governors presented him to the media as their chairman.fayemi and amechi should do same let us see the so called people that voted for amechi or are they not going to fight for what they believe in instead of writing epistle on the pages of new paper they should call for their own meeting and address the media just like the matured jang did and let the likes of fayemi and those that voted amechi present him to the media instead of them releasing statement.the 18 governors that stood behind jang has made it clear that jang is their leader the ball is now on amechi and his follower court is that to hard to do bunch of cry babies.more over its the 4 day after the election were still expecting their so call video of the election.
. you are one of those dummy pro Jang, Gov. Ameachi need not to go to media because evidence of d election is intact n at appropriate time d public will know d truth and pple like u will bury ur face in shame.

Politics / Re: God Helped Me To Defeat Amaechi - Jang by FolaAribilola: 8:40pm On May 27, 2013
brixton: Jonah Jang says God helped him “defeat” Amaechi

The governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has described his “victory” over Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, whom he claims to have defeated to become the new “chairman” of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, as the will of God.

Mr. Jang, was speaking in Jos, Sunday, at a special interdenominational church service held at Faith-way Chapel Church and organized by the Plateau State government as part of the activities marking the forthcoming 14th anniversary of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria.

His remarks came two days after a controversial governors’ forum election in which Mr. Amaechi was declared winner after clinching 19 votes to defeat Mr. Jang who got 16. The result of the election however portrayed Mr. Jang as a usurper to the NGF chairman position.

Governors who supported Mr. Jang rejected the outcome of the elections, claiming it was rigged.

On Saturday, Mr. Jang convened a meeting of the protesting governors and presided as chairman.

“I can assure you that my emergence as the chairman Nigerian Governors’ Forum was the will of God because I went to Abuja for the NGF election not with the intention to contest but northern governors and the PDP governors’ forum endorsed my candidature. When (Ibrahim) Shema of Kastina stepped down, both forums insisted I should contest; I contested and won. So, it’s the will of God.”

He said he had never wanted to be chairman of the NGF.

Mr. Jang told the church that the allegation that a faction of the NGF rigged the elections in his favour was not true.
“God is a democrat, does not support rigging but if you rig and succeed, that means God approve of it.”

Mr. Jang called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders to enable the present administration at all levels succeed.
He said the current controversies being faced by government at the moment is a foreshadow of what is likely to happen at the 2015 general elections.

“I believe that God has anointed who will be President of Nigeria in 2015 but only him knows who it is,” he stated.
He also said democratic governance was the best form of government that takes care of every sector, pointing out that even the military enjoys more during democracy.

“The military enjoys better during democracy. I’m a living example because I was opportune to serve as governor during the military era and now again as a civilian; so, to my mind, the military should not carry guns to force out democratic governance again,” he said.

During the church service, prayers were offered for the restoration of permanent peace in the country and stability of good governance in Nigeria and the entire African continent.

Politics / Re: Jonathan To Commission Steel Plant Thursday! by FolaAribilola: 12:48pm On Apr 18, 2013
Lol u must be pro GEJ/papa deceive pikin. If not why do u transposed commissioning of a private steel company/investor's establishment with GEJ achievement. Now let me tell u what u need to know. 1. If president Jonathan is working as u claimed, let him resuscitate Ajaokuta steel, delta steel - ugheli among others. 2. Power sector shld work at least 60% capacity, 3. Rail line at 1oo% capacity n creation new gauges to all free trade zones as well as industrial locations. 4. Improve on road construction, reconstruction n rehabilitation of major roads( ibadan - lagos express, sagamu-ore- benin rd etc). So u can see that ur so caLl oga at d top hasn't done much. Also democracy is all about competitiveness of all parties in d game of governance n politics.

Am amazed wt d way pple like u think, if d SW govt av d oil money dey wud av transform dia states into small dubai. Wat is new in uyo and d other towns. The little fund available for SW govts is wat dey use to turn d entire states around dey didnt just concentrate on state capital alone.
Politics / Re: No Oil???? Chinese Company Abandons $8bn Lagos Refinery Project by FolaAribilola: 6:11pm On Apr 13, 2013
All ds ND were too fool of themselves, av dey forgotten dat pre/post independence it was resources from d west, north and east, later mid-west dat was used to developed Nigeria state. Let me make one fact clear if d Naija republic breaks, d SW will not suffer anything. Infact d so call ND will suffer most otherwise dey will be subjected to d western economy powers who will control their oil n politics , govt by extension. Otherwise they will finish them under third world other and occupy their. Territories(ask d likes of kuwait,UAE). I rest my case for another day. Note Ondo state has oil, bitumen, osun - gold , Lagos - oil, among other things.

U got it wrong, just for d posterity sake, ibadan - Lagos express rd since 3yrs now nothing has been done and do u know how many lifes it has claimed, yet we don't know when it will be same foe Sagamu - Ore- Benin rd. Why can't FG do ds roads since obasanjo/ Anenih administration. Now if d States government decide to do d roads FG will rush to site n begins to work. What a dirty politics n nepotism game we play in ds country. Anyway posterity will judge all d bad leaders dem dats my take on ds developmental jingolo.
Politics / Re: I Will Re-Construct Ijebu-Ode FG Road - Amosun by FolaAribilola: 2:40pm On Apr 10, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The road is a FG road and if the state govt wants to do work on the road they should follow due process and obtain approval from FG. Its okay to have good intentions but executing a well intended act thru illegal means rubbishes the good intention. For instance, if you want to demolish my house to build a bigger house for me, you cannot do that without my permission. You cannot just forcefully move bulldozers to my house without my consent. If I'm living in an unpainted house and someone wants to help paint the house for me, the person will seek my consent first. Even in medicine, you cannot administer any treatment to a patient except they consent.

My point is that DUE PROCESS is important in whatever we do, irrespective of how well intentioned the act is
